We purchased a new Misty Harbor tri-toon Adventure boat in 2016. In 2017 the pontoons cracked at the seams and took on water!
The manufacturer, Misty Harbor, says that that happens when a boat is trailered. So hauling the boat on the trailer (their dealer sold us with the new boat!) to and from a boat launch causes the pontoons to crack at the seams and take on water, according to them. Tom Christy, their VP, stated he would do us a 'favor' and have added supports put on the pontoons but has made one excuse after another as to why they can't have the boat picked up and taken to be repaired even after telling us that hauling the boat on the trailer CAUSES the pontoon damage. It is a poorly made boat and unsafe. A new pontoon boat should not crack from normal use and any boat should be made well enough to not fall apart from normal hauling of it on a designatured boat trailer to and from a boat launch!
Their failure to stand by their product - which they say these problems are not covered by the warranty btw - is just as upsetting as the boat actually breaking. It is a very expensive DEAD HORSE that is unsafe to use on the water. BUYER BEWARE - they are pretty boats are poorly made and the manufacturer may promise repairs but plays a blame-game and fails to follow through.
