On Nov. 15th 2019 I had an electrician from Mr. Sparky come out to give me an estimate. I needed to find why all my power inside of my garage was out. Plus, the installation of a basic ceiling fan. They sent technician Joseph over. I explained to Mr. Abedini what I wanted done. Before, he gives me an estimate, Joe asks to see my electric breaker panels. I showed him the outside one first. He examines the panel; "oh, you've got a serious situation here. Its burned up, this panel needs to be replaced ASAP, you have a fire hazard here". I don't say anything, but I am in shock. He then asks to see the other panel (main panel) That is inside the house. I take him inside and show him the other panel

I get the same response as the outside. He tells me; "this panel is just as bad as the other one, it needs to be replaced, you've got serious fire hazards here". He asks me, "don't you see it, its fried" I'm looking carefully. I told him, "I don't see any issues" At that time I ask Joe, can I just get an estimate for the reason you came down here. It's close for 500 dollars, but I am sure by time he's done it'll be over 600. I told Joe, thanks for coming over and please leave. For 2 days I didn't sleep, I had another technician come over. He is a master electrician been doing this over 30 years. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with your electric panels, they are in great shape, whoever did the wiring did an excellent job" He then did the job, I got estimated for by MR. SPARKY. He did it for $200. (2 hundred) dollars less than MR. SPARKY's estimate. BTW, I had another electrician come out, (just to look at panels). He says; "nothing wrong with the panels you have" So is this guy Joe a crook or does Mr. Sparky tell their employees to drum up "any" business, or is Joseph, just a terrible electrician? STEER AWAY FROM HERE

So, I live in Millville New Jersey with my wife and small child. We are first time home owners. Our home was built in 1926 and when we purchased it, we knew some of the electrical work would need to be replaced. After about three years it was time to have the work done as it was mid August and every time our air conditioner came on it would cause all of the other electrical systems to shut down. My wife called mister sparky and set up an appointment for the next day. The technician, Dustin, who was coming from their egg harbor township office arrived on time and did an inspection of the house and gave us a quote to the tune of $6208. It seemed pretty steep to me but I am not an electrician and i knew there no was no way I could let my family continue to suffer through the heat when the problem could be fixed.

Although $6208 was no small amount for us, it was made a bit more approachable through financing options and came with a 10 year warranty, which was a huge selling point for us. [continued below]....

I requested an estimate because the outlets in my son's room were not working.

Instead of the tech telling me what was wrong & how much it was going to cost me to fix it (which is what an estimate is)....the tech claimed the following:

...that he did not know the exact cause & that he would have to replace every outlet in the entire home just to be sure that this didn't happen again because it could be any outlet in the house that makes my son's room trip. The grand total was approximately $1000.

GOSH....I just wanted to get my son's outlets working...the rest of the house was working completely fine.

When he saw the look on my face, he offered me options. He offered me to replace the outlets in 3 or 4 rooms. Again the cost was in the hundreds.

I kept reminding him that I only wanted to know what the problem was & how much it was going to cost me to fix the outlets in the one room.

I also kept reminding him that I am a single mother taking care of two small children & do not have excess funds to replace every single outlet in the home (when they were working fine). WHY FIX SOMETHING IF IT IS NOT BROKEN.

There was no getting through to this guy.

He gave me my quotes, I payed him the service fee for coming out to do absolutely nothing & couldn't wait to get him out of my home. I gave him a cheque. He took 10 minutes of my time to deposit the cheque in my home & would not leave my premises until the cheque was deposited. He made me feel completely uncomfortable & it was demeaning in some ways.

I paid for a quote but not for a quote of what I needed done.

This is terrible service. A complete rip off. He wanted me to spend approximately $1000 to fix something that wasn't broken & could not even give me a straight answer as to what the problem was.

My neighbour came over & said my breaker kept tripping. He secured the breaker & the problem was solved.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS COMPANY.

This guy was not even nice.

We hired Mr. Sparky to install a 200 amp service and interior wiring in a new garage that we had built on our property September 28th 2016 at a cost of $8,693.00. The install was completed on the 29th of September 2016 and they were paid. I was told by the electrician that he would be getting the inspection done within a week so that the power company could do what they had to to connect the underground power. Which was fine even though I had to go to Home Depot and buy light switches for the electrician to install so he could finish the job. Which I paid for and was not reembursed or taken off the bill. After waiting several weeks I called the office of Mr. Sparky and asked about the inspection as we needed the power on ASAP. I was told that they would call and set up the inspection. The inspector came out and failed the inspection due to not having temporary power which is needed inorder to inspect the work. I spoke with Mr. Sparky's office and the electrician and was told that they would handle the problem. I inturn contacted the electrical power company and They came out to look at the job . I was informed by them that Mr. Sparky did not install the pipe needed from the meter base to the ground. Which should have been installed as it is required inorder for the power company to connect and for inspection. I called Mr. Sparky in reference to the down pipe that was required and should have been installed already during the original visit. A appointment was scheduled for the next Monday. Mr. Sparky installed the pipe and charged me over $100.00 for it although it was supposed to have been included in the bill for installation. At that time I discusssed with the electrician what I was told by the electrical power company and the inspection office inorder to get the power turned on. I was told by the electrician that he would take care of it and get everything straightened out so that the power company could install their line and turn the power on. It is now going on three months and the power company called me and said that everything was ready on their end to install the main line. But Mr. Sparky was the hold up as they need to get the job inspected and passed then the power company could connect. I called Mr. Sparky and was told by the district manager that he did not understand the problem and would schedule it with the inspections department.. Well there are still the issues that caused the last inspector not to approve the job as there were when he came out prior which will cause the same result of it not passing. Mr.Sparky has a so called guarantee with a group called Uwin that guarantees satisfaction. I called them and explained the situation to them and they of course sided with Mr. Sparky which is going to happen since Mr. Sparky pays them and said they would contact Mr. Sparky and have them call me. What more beating around the bush and delays at my expense. This is ridiculous as we have had several homes built in our neighborhood since we had Mr. Sparky to install the wiring and they within a month of starting construction had power installed, inspected and passed within a month. Apparently Mr. Sparky has a attitude that they have my money so they can just keep forgetting to do what is required to complete the job of getting power connnected to the garage. What a joke that they are making of this contract and service. They apparently could care less about properly taking care of their customers as long as they have got their money. I wish I had hired a small company that is local and cares about service and honest treatment of their customers.

I called MisterSparky and they gave me 3 hour interval. I told them to call me before getting there because i wasn't home. They promised to call 30 minutes before. I got a call from the technician who was at the door so I had to rush to get there although I asked 2 people in the comany (Bill, who answered the phone and tanya who took the order) to please call me before the technician arrived. The technician took a look and gave me a menu that started at $59 and ended at $650. He said he had to change a wire and wanted to charge me the highest price.

I was outraged so he went down to the $205. I accepted that even though it was just replacing a wire. I also had a $50 coupon that reduced it to $172. He went out to his truck for a very long time twice to look for tools, wires, etc. It took him no more than 15 minutes to replace the wire. He told me it was his first day working for MrSparky so he wasn't very sure about things (so I can only guess they told him to just charge the maximum possible, in case I fall for it, i don't know).

After signing for the transaction and giving him my credit card, 15 minutes later I was charged the $59 fee for the visit?!? This is a rip off! How does anyone pay $230 for replaving a wire? Not even a highly specialized doctor doesn't charge that much for 15 minutes. THERE WERE NO PARTS INVOLVED that had to be replaced, nothing, just retaping a wire and reattaching it. I feel terrible I was taken for stupid.

I AM VERY ANGRY THEY USED MY CREDIT CARD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION TO CHARGE ME SOME MORE ONCE THE TECHNICIAN LEFT AND THEY HAD MY INFO !!
