MinuteDownload.com Reviews
On 7 September 2017 I purchased a copy of Office 2010 from this site. The software was sent immediately by email. The license code was invalid. On 13 September 2017 at 1221 hours I was able to chat online with "Mark" who provided a new lecense code by email. This license code is also invalid.
Since then I have been unable to contact them by email, chat or phone. The address on their website: 3509 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008 resolves to Opus Washington Virtual Offices.
I got ripped off too
I had the exact same experience, but wasn't even able to get to someone in a Chat session. I disputed the charge and my bank fraud department is looking into this.
I got ripped off too
same story, download office 2016, invalid authentication code, did MS dial in, invalid product, spent 4 hours attempting to get support, big run around, this site is a scam, forced to uninstall and buy directly from MicroSoft. Will reverse credit card charges as this is considered fraud.
Minute Download is a bunch of crooks and scam artists
Too bad you can not select zero stars. I despise companies like Minutedownload.com Rather than steal to make a living why not work and feel good about yourself. I hope all the worst is in store for Minutedownload.com and their unscrupulous criminal owners.
They do not answer their support telephone line. When you try and activate the program it tells you it is already activated. My Microsoft worked exactly 30 days. As others have written on this report site; this is a SCAM. No support, no answer to emails. Now the program states it is LOCKED. Cannot edit, create new, print and all options on home tab are unavailable. Going out to shop is not so bad after all. After my letter to the better business bureau, I will go to Best Buy and try and find a REAL Microsoft Home program.
On Oct. 4th 2017 I purchased Home & Business Office 2013. After installing product activation would not work. Tried several times, then window comes up and says this product is not available, will give you product key replacement, that would not activate also. At this point I call MinuteDownload and this is what I get "Sorry all representatives are curently busy, please press 0 to stay on the line. So I do and this is what I get. " Thre best way to contact us is by MinuteDownload Chat or [email protected].", then I'm disconnected. So I got to the wbsite for chat and it says " Sorry all chat lines are busy try back later", that was Oct.4th around 1:30pm, tried back around 3:00pm still the same thing. So on Oct. 5th tried the chat thing again with the same results
. I needed my Outlook and Documents right away so I called MIcroSoft (the real company), told them what is going on, gave them the 1st Key# and I'ts not avalid product. They tried to install it on my PC and could not get it to activate. So they gave me free trial Office 365 and told me to get intouch with them to get refund. So today Oct. 11th. Finialy got on the chat thing after waiting for an hour, told Mark what the problem was, he wanted to see if he could install form his end, he need to uninstall Office 365, said no, but he had to to installI said OK. He was using TeamViewer and we started around 12:38pm, he uninstalled Office 365 and installed somethig (Office2013)? . After it was installed he never came back to the TeamViewer chat session. It did not work, when I open it ask me to activate with Key#, he never gave me key#. So I'm super upset now. So I'm waiting for Mark to answer me, never dose. I get back to chat area for MinuteDownload, I'm number 6, it takes a good 35 minutes, and guess who is on the chat........ Mark yes thats right, he said we were disconnected, but we were not because he asked me questions that I typed on the connection.
At this time I had MicroSoft on the phone again to tell them the new problem and they recommend that I reinstall Office 365 back, so get MS ready to install it from ther end. About this time the MS representative was in my PC and could see me chating with Mark. He said he could not give me a refund because he installed it personally. Then he wanted proof of it not being activated. He wanted to know if I installed the new Key#, my response was no because you did not give me one, so he gave key#and MS person said that Key# was invaild ( must have 25 characters it was only 24). Asked him agian to just give me refund and he disconnected me.
I'm Not able to conntact them now.
I mistakenly ordered from this company, and they never delivered what they sold, giving me a Microsoft Office Product Key for a DIFFERENT Product...which could never be authenticated.
Once you have bought from them, they will:
a) Refuse phone calls; they have an answering machine that claims "agents are busy," but disconnects you instead of putting you in a queue.
b) all the Email addressed ([email protected], [email protected], etc.) DO NOT FUNCTION. You email will be refused.
c) Their "On-line chat" will work ONCE. You have to provide your eMail and phone number, which they use to BLOCK you from Zendesk if you seek any remediation of a problem (e.g., they sent you the wrong product). They'll make promises, which they never fulfill.
You cannot find their address. Their website is hosted by SiteGround.com, which has a special feature: They will prevent "backtracing" to the original information. They confuse the issue by offering three tlocations when you try to find them based on their website IP address: Chicago (nope), Washington, D.C. (nope), and in the middle of a lake in Kansas. Clearly, this company DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AFTER THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY.
Your only recourse is to report the fraud to you credit card issuer, and go through all the problems of getting a new credit card number assigned, and THEY will try to get the money back.
The only recourse is to hope your bank will notify Visa (or MasterCard) that MinuteDonload.com is engaged in fraud, and hope your card-ISSUER (not the bank) will cut off their ability to use those cards to charge anything to anybody.
I'm out $54.99. Don't waste your money, like I did.
Win 10 64 GB Professional Key - NOT WORKING
Same Problem!
I purchased a Win 10 64 GB Professional Key in October 2017 and as I want to activate the Key in December 2017, My Windows home said this is an invalid key. Tried to contact Minutedownload however connection was very slow. I was able to login to my account and could see my order and the key, but as i tried to send a message over their system, it did not go trough. Today, Januar 1st 2018 Now I am not even able to open their website anymore.
I tried to chat on line, no reply, I tried to call, the number on the site says it is not set up to take incoming calls.
Tried to write them both on their site (No reply) and to the e-mail shown (came back, not a proper e-mail address}
So they have the money and I do not have a working product.
When I did try to activate the product got there was a problem and to use the phone number to get it activated, So tried the phone number and receive message that it was an old key and I would need a new one.
scammed by minute download.
Wish I had seen these comments first. Product downloaded but will not activate. No response to emails and text messages. Phone does not work. Avoid at all costs!!!
I reponded to an ad about purchasing Microsoft Office 2016 for Business for their advertised price of $79.99 less $5.00 coupon code. I received emails from them stating that my software was ready for download, and provided me with a 25 digiti license key. I installed the software and when I atried to activate it with the license key, I received this message:
Sorry, this isn't a Microsoft Office 2016 product key. You may be
entering a product key from another version of Office.
According to their website, I could try and activate the product over the phone. After a lengthy phone call and entering the 25 digit license key, I was informed that the license key does not beloong to a Microsoft 2016 product.
I tied calling their support # 1-844-350-5295 and a recording informed me that the phone number was not set up for receiving calls. I tried emailing them at [email protected] and my email was returned stating "The account or domain may not exist, they may be blacklisted, or missing theproper dns entries."
I then tried emailing them at [email protected] and received the same message.
I bought microft office software from their website. It was advertised as "sale". The transaction went throught smoothly and I was able to download an .iso file. I then installed the software but when it was time to activate the product using the activation key they sent the activation site kept saying that the activation key was blocked.
They sent me two blocked keys. Refused refund.
I bought a Windows OS from minutedownload.com: all went well at the checkout, and I received (what I thought to be) a $5 coupon using the code "5offnow". After I paid for the software, I was taken to a screen that said "checkout complete, please wait while we process your order".
I waited over an hour and the page did not refresh nor did they email me a download link or product activation key. I called tech support 3-4 times and was told "their office was closed" and to call back during normal business hours, even though I was calling during those times. I sent 3 emails to their tech support and never heard back. Their chat either does not work or they do not check it: they have not responded to the several chat messages I sent requesting assistance.
Its been 24 hours since I purchased the software and I have not received any feedback. I am pretty sure the website is a scam-- Do NOT buy anything from it!
On 9/18/2017 I purchased MS Office Professional 2013 from this site. When I couldn't validate the software, I contacted Microsoft support and they told me the License Code was invalid. So I called them on 9/26/2017 to request either a valid code or a refund. "All staff were busy helping other customers" was the response from an automated system. It suggested I use their online chat. But when I tried that, I received a similar response. So I left a message on the chat system. I had to leave town and checked my email when I returned today, 10/02/2017, no response from them. Tried calling them again today on 10/02 and got the same responses on both phone and chat support. Still waiting to hear from them.
I paid for windows 10 x64 pro but they gave me win 10 home premium, I don't even know what version it is (x64 or x86) because when I tried to install the win 10 home product they sent me I got to the point where it asks for a product key/license it says the key is invalid. I tried to contact them with all the contact options SEVERAL times to no avail, so I left them a message AGAIN (bottom right corner of page) and told them I'm filing a charge back and reporting them to the FBI (for all the good THAT will do) via ic3.gov.
Minutedownload.com Company selling fraudulent Office 2016 codes. Paid 79.95 for it and the code never worked. Contacted them for help, no response. Appears both of their website have been deleted. selling fraudulent Office 2016 codes
Complete fraud, no resonse on phone, no email. Had bank retract the charge becaue the product was defective and did not work.
Within a month they placed fraudulent charges on my credit card.
Purchased Office 2016 product key, orginal not accepted by Microsoft, second one sent, same proble. Phone disconnected, chat only way to communicate
I purchased software product for a digital download 3/9/18. Card was charged 18.99 and the file was corrupt. unable to use. Tried to contact by phone to no avail. Email no response I just want my money back
Also Scammed
I was unsure about minutedownload.com so googled reviews but for some reason did not see this one. I regret I didn't see it because I too bought Office 2016 and was given an activation key that microsoft does not recognize. I got no reply to chat line and one phone # doesn't take calls and the other phone # always says to try again later. Please avoid this website as you will most certainly lose your money and end up with an unusable product.
When I tried to register the software with the codes given, it did not work. After multiple tries, I recieved a message that I had requested too many codes. I am out the $69.99 and I am quite concerned that I paid with my credit card.
Is there any way to get my money back or to stop these folks from ripping off someone else?
DownloadInstant.com is a scam
I had the exact same experience as many. Downloaded Windows 7 ISO and never received a code key. Could contact them through phone or chat room on their website. Wish I had looked into this first!
Ordered Microsoft office and the activation code was not a valid code.
sent email and have not heard anything in response.
Pretty much the same complaint everyone else has, except they got me twice. I accidentally purchased windows 7 64 bit, received the download and confirmation email. Realized i was on windows 7 32 bit, and purchased a second copy. No product key for either one in the emails or within their website under my account.
I purchased Microsoft Office from this "company" but am unable to activate it as it idoes not have a valid licenese. I spent an entire month trying to contact them, and work through Microsoft support without success. Their support number is no longer in service, and emails are unanswered. Microsoft says they are an unlicensed distributer.
My brother found that link on internet for me and i bought the windows 10 pro that i needed for my computer. I gave my information, adress, phone number and paid with my credit card.
Then i received an email so i could download the software. We started to proceed, everything was going well, then the last page was asking for the licence key, which was not given to us.
We click on the link given in the email, for help for the activation, i saw that the last part was not the same, Licence key was not required !
I tried to chat, with their costumer service on line, but you get only one response, then you talk to yourself ! an email was also sent to : [email protected] then we saw that they were closed on saturday and sunday.
Monday, i tried again the chat, no succes, the answer i got was from a Sarah : Hi Nicole St-Louis,glad to see you back !If we can help you with anythinlg. That was it !
I send again an email, called, NOTHING, when i called the answer i received was : This number is not set up to receive calls, please try again later . This is the number they gave on their website.
and each time you call, you get the same answers !
For sure you can forget the money you paid with them. Please report them, so they can be cut and stop stealing our money !
I paid 59.99 in US but me in canadian it is more !
i bought a windows 10 upgrade, complete fail. dispute through amex, they refunded the money i wasted on these assholes
After buying Microsoft Office on-line, I used MinuteDownload's download link to obtain and install the Microsoft Office products: Word 2016, Excel, PowerPoint, and Notes. When I went to activate the software, the ID that I received from MinuteDownload (or DownloadInstant.com) was NOT valid. When I attempted to call the phone number on their website (1-844-350-5295), it wasn't set up to receive calls! Initially, I had issues even downloading the products and had received an error code regarding a missing file. When I attempted to use their on-line chat function, it was ~50 min. before someone finally answered me. And then, they appeared to not read the text describing my download issue, eventually offering to send me another download link ... which they didn't.
I tried activating Office both on-line and by phone. Neither approach worked.
I've concluded that this is a scam and intend to contact my credit card company as soon as the payment is processed...
I purchased a product from their website and my CC transaction went through smoothly. The emailed activation product key did not work nor did the activation phone instructions. Microsoft responded that it was not a valid installation key. I have not been able to contact the company (DownloadInstant.com) to request a refund. The product is unusable.
MinuteDownload is a Scam
Purchased Office 2010, product key is invalid, support e-mail delivers bounce back, phones do not get answered and will time out if you wait on hold. This is a Scam and they will provide you with a price that is too good to be true.
I downloaded Office but I couldn't run it. Tried to ccontact them by phone. Also tried email. Neither one worked. The phone was not real and the emails kept coming back. The date of this transaction was 12/19/17.
I purchased Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 and could not activate the product code for the software. The product key allowed me to download the software, but I could not activate any of the applications because the product key had already been used the maximum number of times. I was able to use the software for 30 days then they were deemed unlicensed and no longer available.
minutedownload.com is a scam
I bought an Office 2016 license from them. The license key they sent is invalid. Email to them bounces, Chat site times out. Avoid!!!
I wanted to buy ms office 2016 and searched for a "discount" on google. Downloadinstant.com lured me in the a $59 price vs $149 from microsoft. I downloaded the software but i could not load it because there was no product key. I called the phone number on the website. It was "not set up to receive calls". The chat option did work. But i spent three hours talking to "brad" trying various things that i realize now, were never designed to work because the software is fake and cannot be used.
I kept insisting that i needed the product key. I finally got one but the ms website said this key has been used before and therefore, obviously, i can't use it. I finally realized this was a scam and demanded my money back. "brad" said they required a 20% restocking fee. I said you sold me a product that you cannot make work so give me a full refund. Brad said no. So i said, fine, i will dispute the credit card charge and i have plenty of screen shots to put this scam on social media. Suddenly "brad" became helpful and his alleged boss agreed to give me a full refund. We'll see what happens.
The bottom line is this scam makes money because people like me can be lured in for a price that is too good to be true. My bad. But probably a lot of people will give up rather than spending 3 hours trying to make it work, and they they might accept the 80% refund. But in reality, this is just a total scam. Next time i'll look on like for the Yscam before i take the bait.
Minutedownload is a SCAM
Bought 2016 office suite on Nov. 28, 2017. Download went smooth but could not acrivate. Could not get any help through Chat or Phone from them. Contacted Microsoft helpdesk and they tried in so many ways and concluded that e merchant has sold a fake license since it said "not valid for the region". Microsoft asked me to get refund. But, could not contact the merchant at all. So, reporting to credit card company to block them. DO NOT use them - they are fake and scam.
I purchased Microsoft Office Professional 2013 on Sept 1. Download and validation code came immediately in 2 emails. Download of software went fine. Validation codes were invalid.
Due to labor day called them Sept 5. Impossible to get hrough - too busy. Subsequent calls (over 12) on successive days also unanswered.
Email to them was returned as invalid.
Attempted "Chat" but it only appears occassionally on site. No response.
Contacted Credit Card company and disputed charge as not delivering what was purchased.
I bought an operating system software from their website. It was advertised as "sale". The transaction went throught smoothly and I was able to download an .iso file. I then installed the software but when it was time to activate the product using the activation key they sent the activation site kept saying that the activation key was blocked.
I tried contacting their customer support via e-mail but it kept bouncing back. I tried calling the listed phone number but it would not connect. To my surprise, I googled the listed address on their website and it pointed to a nail salon in a strip mall in Washington DC.
