Mint Mobile, Inc. Reviews
For my first cell phone service I ordered a phone and one year of service through mint mobile. After waiting several weeks to receive the phone, I tried for hours to connect to their system and could not. I felt this was a sign of watch to come so I contacted mint mobile the next day, within 24 hours, that I wanted a refund. According to their website, I have seven days of free used to try it out. I didn't know there was a lock code on the phone when I sent it back so that phone was passed back to me, I took it to Best Buy and they did a factory reset. The geek squad asked me why men just didn't do that themselves… I did not have an answer of them other than mint mobile has been difficult throughout this whole return process.
I paid $531.53 for a Samsung phone in one year of service. Samsung was extremely slow in every response so this took over a month to finally get the phone unlocked and sent back to them. After not hearing from them for a couple weeks I chose to dispute the transaction on my credit card. At that point they had my phone, I had not connected to the network to use any of the one-year contract and they would not refund me. Citibank then reversed the credit and left me hanging. At that point mint Mobile said they cannot refund my money because Citibank is blocking the transaction. I contacted Citibank and they said there is no such thing and there is no hold on my account or that transaction and there's no reason for mint mobile to not refund me. I emailed mint mobile this information and they refuse to answer me. All I need is a really good lawyer to sue them.
Beware! My Debit card was used fraudulently by an employee of Mint. Mint Mobile allowed $226.00 to be charged to my account for another person's service. I've disputed the transaction with Mint and they will not help me with this fraudulent charge. The person used my address and card information.
I recently became eligible for a phone plan through Assurance Wireless because of a permanent disability. When I switched the service from Mint Mobile I initiated a refund request for service that started on 8/31/21 and was terminated on 9/13/21. Despite multiple refund requests, all have been denied. Their associates have told me that their "policy" is to not refund any balance after 7 days. I used the service for 13 days out of a 3 month contract and am due a pro rated amount of the $132.07 I paid for service that they are not providing, thus effectively stealing same from a disabled man simply trying to do what he can to make ends meet.
This policy of not issuing a refund after 7 days is not the practice of a legitimate business. If a service is no longer being provided a pro-rated refund is required. To not do so is at the very least an unethical practice, and at worst it is of dubious legality. This is a prime example of a company engaging in shady business practices and hiding the same behind a questionable policy. Such companies need to be brought to task.
A contract was not signed. Thus far I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Communications Commission Consumer Division, the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of the State of California. I have not contacted an attorney; neither is court action pending. I have neither filed nor lost a lawsuit in this matter.
Mint Mobile's curt attitude, shady business practices and outright theft will be addressed by every and all means necessary. I am seeking a reasonable pro-rated refund of the amount of 132.07, whatever that might be of a three month contract minus 13 days of actual use.
They start out good then slowly turn on you just like cellphone carriers all do. My download speed is less then 100 KB. They turn you data on an off in the middle of online work..Lots of interruptions 4G 3G drop outs and calls drop out. I have to dial five times or more to make a call.
They only allow known sites like YouTube so they don't get caught. So they throttle ban VPNs or personal IP addresses. I can even stand next cellphone tower an data fails to load webpage takes 10 min to load YouTube or any webpage.
I paid for a cellphone and 90 days of service in advance and they refuse to activate this phone i been on hold over 5 hours 05/22/2019 from 12pm to 5 pm est spoke to over 13 reps on the phone and cant get this phone to be turned on.
