Miller-Motte College Reviews

  • Jul 2, 2022

From the beginning I was given the wrong information, told they were sending me a laptop but I recieved it after classes began. When I recieved it it was broken had to wait for it to be repaired.

I recieved failing grades because of this. I would get close to the end of the class and then they just switch me constantly without warning. I feel like they are doing this on purpose and don't want to have to pay back the loans when I feel like I am being screwed owing all that money.

Miller-Motte college has a “Career Services” Department.... they guaranteed to help get a position in the field of study you attend their college for. Network Security Administration.... I’ve graduated with a 3.94 GPA....IN ADDITION I HAVE 18 YEARS PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN THE IT Computer FIELD, and 2 years of college from the late 1980’s ....

I have had no interviews set up. I have had “ help desk “ jobs suggested to me ... No education is required for those jobs!!! ... Jessica L. is the career person.... She does nothing, no response... I am going to seek legal council to sue this school.

I started Miller-Motte online in June of 2017. Granted my online professors were great teachers. Due to financial difficulties at home I wasn't able to keey internet. The 2gb that the school provide wasn't enough to get me through the month. Then I fell sick and some days wasn't able to get out of bed let alone do class work. I started failing classes because I got so far behind due to my health. Eventually found out that I was pregnant. So I decided that I would withdrawal from school and return after I have my baby. I asked financial aid Everytime I called will it affect my financial aid? They said no and told me to submit my withdrawal the last day of the current class. I did. The last day was February 12, 2018. I received a letter in the mail stating that I owe $330. I received this letter on February 18,2018 and had to pay this balance on February 28,2018. I went back and forth with one of the agents for two days trying to figure out WHY I have a balance. He stated that it was a over payment from a striped in December. I asked could I speak to someone higher up because I refuse to pay $330 when I did a student loan that is to cover ALL school expenses. I spoke with someone and she stated that I DIDN'T have a balance and that everything is fine. I will be good to return to school when I'm ready.

Flash forward to June 1, 2018 I received a email as a reminder to return to school. I asked could I change my major. Sure but you need to make a $25 deposit towards the $330. Umm no I don't. Again I refuse to pay for something that financial aid was supposed to cover. I spoke with someone in financial aid she says well it's a small fee, I don't care how small of a fee I shouldn't have a balance at all period. Then she states well if you don't pay it, it will go on your credit. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I signed up. I had no problems until I withdraw. I did it so that I could get myself together and give myself enough time to bond with my baby while I was on leave. Seems like they calculated a fee just so you can pay them. Oh and I'm a ONLINE student why did I have to pay $7320 for 4/17-11-17 and $2440 for 11/17-02/18 for housing and meals? COMPLETE RIP OFF.

Why does Miller Monte college take so long to send your Financial Aid over to the Board of Education. I been to other schools and never had this problem. Everytime I call I get told different things. I currenlt have a balance and will like to know will my pell cover it. I call each day to see what the process is and its something different. One of the financial rep was rude. She had the nerve to tell not to call so much. Im going to keep calling until I find out whats going on or get some clarification. I think Miller Monte is doing something shady. IJS

I decided to go back to school to prepare for a job in billing and coding. The school was not ready to start, but did anyway and financial aid did not start for nine months. They coerced me into signing up by promising a career in this field.

The financial aid was not explained to me clearly and when I asked, he said it would be ok only costing thirteen thousand which turned into twenty three thousand. The instructors were not qualified to teach anything at all. The quarter before the last one we finally started coding class and the instructor was a chiropractor, we did not do anything but a work book.

The last quarter coding class was someone who actually did it for a living but sucked. Now i am in debt and having nothing to show for it. They fired any good teachers, and kept the ones who were awful. I feel depressed and it ruined my life.

I to Miller March in North Charleston thinking that I could work full time as a temporary place and going to school. While I was there, the classes that they had me and were not for medical administration as I repeatedly told them I wanted to be in on more than one occasion. They put me in medical assistant that was a mistake number one on their part!

Secondly, when I was trying to seek some help with some of the work as I know I was not doing and asked the lady instructor several times that I needed some help with some of the work. The instructor was only there to babysit us like a substitute teacher in study hall. She did nothing and everyone complained. I was told in the beginning there if I needed help which was part of the agreement, they will be there to help and they never were. They liedover and over and over again period the school kept giving me the runaround, ignoring my phone calls my notes that I left for them. I drove 50 miles each way each time to talk to them and when I was there no one was speak to me.

Even when I was there for class, I went there earlier enough to talk to someone; for they knew I was having an issue and is still avoided me; they kept giving me excuses one after neither as to whether or not I wantedto talk to me the school failed to keep their end of the contract as my workload increased and going to school as well my health started to deteriorate, not able to have a teacher at that time to help me when I have asked so many times. The so called instructor would tell me where is talk to the counsellor that she could not help and that wasn't her job and also when I try and they will leave before class ended.

All of their lack of help, severely increased my stress level over the maximum level that one endures had cause me to be physically sick that I had no choice but to leave school. With all the stress caused by them,I ended up going to the ER after leaving many notes and been told by the receptionist to call back either come by again in the next morning and every time I go by there every day at that point nobody showed up nobody was there I am that up having to pay a high has to bill because of them and the stress of they have cost me a high medical bills that I couldn't afford.

I complained to the school ,I complained to the CEO of the school many times and no one return my letters never received any word back from anyone. I'm made less than $12,000 that year and they tell me that they had grants to help me and everything else and then found out that I liked me that there wasn't any crap that I can apply and then continue to lie.

They have put me through hell for 10 years ruined my credit and I'm still fighting then with the loan people I am filing them with the collection agency as well and because of that and I'm not making that much money now they're taking money out of my pay check and I know I have a late almost on my bills now is because I don't have enough money in my account because of them.

They should be the one to pay back the loan people and payback where they took out of my account paycheque wise!

Please save your time and money if you want to enroll in the HVACR Program at Miller Motte Madison, TN. When I signed up for this school I was told 90% of the training I would receive was hands on and the other time would be spent on lecture and book material. I will tell you right now that is that is not the education I am currently receiving. I began classes there July of 2015 and I am still currently enrolled. I have 3 more courses left and one of them has nothing to do with the HVAC program. So I have the class I am taking now which is an HVAC course/EPA prep and one more HVAC course plus the professionalism course which again has nothing to do with the program I am in. That course is just to help you properly prepare a resume. Anyways I am so frustrated about how this program is run. I sit in that classroom day after day while the instructor/program director reads through each chapter almost word for word. I am like I am a grown adult I can read this myself and if I have questions I will ask them. I do all my homework on time and do pretty well on my tests. I confronted the program director about my concern several months ago stating I don't feel I am getting a proper education and I am disappointed with the lack of hands on. He told me that if everyone did their homework and turned it in on time we would be out in the shop more. My question is why am I being punished when I do all my work? And why are you not just marking these students who don't there their work with a 0 and moving on? This is college not grade school. I signed up for this school for the sole purpose of the hands on experience. Not to sit in a class room day after day and have you read to me. This field is all hands on so why aren't they training us with the proper skills and showing us how to use the tools and the meters? Why am I almost finished with this school and I feel inadequate. There is so much involved in HVAC work and they are trying to teach us out of a book how to do it. Why am I giving them money to read to me when I can clearly sit at home and do that. I am a kinesthetic learner and learn best by doing. This school is failing to properly instruct its students. They are graduating students who are ill-equipped and sending them on there way. working on Refrigeration, AC , and heating equipment can be very dangerous. Plus now you are handling refrigerants which is governed by the EPA because it can deplete our Ozone. This school is failing to properly train us to handle these refrigerants. Students aren't being taught how to add and remove refrigerants from a unit, how to use a set of gauges and take readings, how to take electrical readings with the meters, how to identify components in a system, how to read the electrical diagrams and show and explain where the wire go to and what they connect to. These instructors are there to teach this and they are failing to do that. I even went to the director of education and told her my concerns and she told me that this is an on going issue and she would talk to the instructors again. Stil nothing is being done. the one day we were actually in the shop they didn't have nitrogen so we could do a leak test. Why is this course allowed to be taught? The school is collecting all this money from students and not giving them the education they deserve. These instructors are not qualified to teach this program. I hope this school is investigated for their unethical practices. What they are doing is wrong and dishonest. There are other programs at this school that aren't like this. Welding, Electrical, Medical. Welding is in the shop most of the time. Electrical has a lot of hands on and I know medical is getting a lot of hands on also. It seems to be the HVAC program that is the problem. I say this because I don't want to criticize the whole school because of one bad apple on the bunch. But unfortunately the HVAC program is a reflection of the school in my opinion and 1 bad apple can spoil the rest. Anyways I plan on contacting consumer affairs and sharing this with them also. Something has to be done about this because it isn't fair to anyone who enrolled in the program.

I attended this school in July 2011, and everything was good until I got an audit and no one had been able to explain this to me. I am a veteran and the military pays 100% of my tuition. We never received that money nor did anyone care to explain to me what was going on. I spoke with the Dean and he didn't offer any answers, I called the corporate office they didn't offer any answers either. I graduated and I still haven't gotten my degree my cords or anything. I went back to the school to retrieve my things still nothing. I am in the process of filing a law suit against that school and the staff.
