Mill Creek Custom Homes Reviews

  • Feb 13, 2022

We used mill creek homes to build our forever home last year. I cannot express how miserable this experience was from start to finish. From the top Lance) down these tricksters were unprofessional, arrogant, and downright ugly to work with. If i could go back in time, i should of just subcontracted the house out myself. Even when you raise an issue with them, they keep pushing forward blind not caring about obvious design flaws that cost them and us in time/materials.

Scamion needs to give us the ability to give zero stars as it took everything in me to click one of the five! a few issues that are worth noting: - living room center beam design flaw took nine weeks from the moment we reported it to them, to getting the owner out to see for himself what his construction supervisors could not.

This caused a delay that would ultimately put the entire house over by a month on its estimated completion date. I still remember at one point the construction supervisor said "mr. Burley it's correct, we put a tape measure on it". - we had two construction supervisors quit during the build/warranty period. They never notified us of this as they were both 'working' on issues that we expected answers on. - we have spray foam stains on the siding, front porch, and all through our stained concrete home.

Sent numerous pictures, had them out to take pictures, and nothing. Had to pursue this with their warranty administrator. They are still ignoring texts and emails on this subject. - our back door is warped and has been deemed irreparable by their trim carpenter. It is still warped and letting cold air in daily as they have simply ignored my texts and emails on this. Had to pursue this as well with their warranty administrator.

Oh, and we spec'd fiberglass doors and due to the warped door rubbing, we now know it is wood. Blessing in disguise i guess. - our first job site walk with the construction supervisors consisted of them asking us if we had a copy of the home plans. Yes, they showed up to show us the building plan to verify plumbing, electrical etc. Etc. With no plans. - received a call from mill creek and was told that i needed to call the electricians and low voltage electrical vendor to arrange a time to meet up.

Met with the electricians and was waiting to be called back by the low voltage contractor and noticed all the work had been done already. Never had a chance to verify placement of lan/phone/speaker/security drops in the home. Oh and after reviewing the spec, noticed we are missing five phone drops in the house. They have ignored this text and email as well. Pursuing this with their warranty administrator as well. - we chose to include the well in this project of which was supposed to get drilled early on given the concrete work needed per the plan.

Reminded them numerous times to proceed with the well so we can keep the home building process moving forward and nothing. Received a call one day from our neighbors saying their vendors had been asking them to borrow water. So professional mill creek! - showed up one day and noticed the well holding tank was moved in to our garage. Checked our building spec and this wasn't on there. At closing, they told us we owed over a thousand dollars for this job and was subsequently coerced in to signing the bill so we could get our keys.

I questioned this and was told "well if you guys could pay $725 that will work". Unbelievably unprofessional. Oh, and they still want their money for what we never asked for in our building spec! - since their construction supervisors never had drawings or plans on hand, they didn't stop the cabinet builder from marking our entire house worth of cabinets with a sharpie where the cabinets won't hide it. Yes, this was stained and sealed up plain as day with our stained concrete floors.

Their fix, grind off the top layer of cement, and paint another color over it that is far from matching. Our floors are completely hideous with these marks along with all the spray foam yellow stains. As i mentioned above, they've photographed all of this, and have yet to even say a word to us! this was an obvious breakdown in the 'interest level' of their construction supervisors in protecting the slab during the building process. I will continue to add to this review as more comes to mind. Forgive me as this process truly was miserable and exhausting.

Unfortunately, we are still dealing with these jokers. My wife and i are doing our part to spread the word on mill creek homes as we are in an area that is being developed. Our goal is to speak with each and every land owner wishing to build a home about our experience with mill creek homes. Update!!!! they are denying our warranty requests because we owe them money for a mistake they made!!!! trying to charge us for something that wasn't in the building spec!
