I recieved this card in the mail in December. After a crazy season I went online to read what I was getting into and as soon as you sign up it makes you responsable for this card. I have emailed and mailed a cancellation and no respone. According to the websight I still owe this 75.00 fee and I don not want this card!!!
My mom, the account holder has cancer and has been hospitalized and appointed me her power of attorney as she can not speak above a whisper.therefore I handle all of her bills.as a big convenience to both of us I enrolled her in auto pay so her payments come out automatically on the due date, she is 74 years old and I am her only caregiver. Last month they called threatening her about a late payment and wanting an extra $30 late fee, I immediately went online to her account and checked that she was indeed enrolled in auto pay, she is ,it's on her profile and in account settings, needless to say I called them and explained her medical condition and that she was enrolled in auto pay and it was their fault for not taking the payment out on time and she was NOT paying a late fee, eventually they took payment now this month same thing, late payment plus late fee! They are incompetent and try to stick elderly people with late fees when it is THEIR fault.
I have checked, double checked triple checked all settings in her account and clearly stated is you are enrolled in auto pay! If you call the customer service number on your bill you get 10 advertisements then they tell you it's the wrong number and give you another one which is nothing more than even more ads ,this company is a joke and should not be allowed to ripoff anyone let alone the sick and elderly
I applied for and received a Milestone MasterCard in October 2017. I registered online immediately and setup auto-pay on 10/17/17 and received email confirmation. The Auto-Pay Start Date was set to 11/10/2017. The first statement due date was 11/10/17 and the payment was posted on 11/10/17. The second statement was due on 12/10/17. Just by chance I checked my account online on 12/11/17. The payment due on 12/10/17 had not been posted. I assumed that it didn't show yet since 12/10/17 landed on a Sunday. I was wrong. I received the current statement email notification on 12/12/17 and went back online to view it. Milestone has charged me a late fee because the due date landed on Sunday. The 'Transaction Date' for the payment due on 12/10/17 shows on my transaction history but the 'Post Date' for the payment shows 12/12/17. It then shows a 'Late Payment Charge' for $27.00' on 12/11/17 and of course that transaction posted on 12/11/17
I did call the company and got the late fee waived but I explained to the customer service rep that this is totally unethical and I've never had this happen before with any other credit card I've setup Auto-Pay on. This is whole reason I use 'Auto-Pay' with credit cards - to ensure I don't forget to pay on time and get a late fee. I was polite but told the customer service rep that this is just wrong. I know it's not his fault. I just want others that have this credit card to make sure you make your payment on a weekday even if you have Auto-Pay setup.
Milestone is one of those credit cards you get when you have bad credit or in a difficult spot. The catch, eventually pay an annual fee for the next year. They also only offered me 300.$, which based on others comments seems to be the norm for this company. I used the card, paid it off, and moved on with my life. At this point I had written off the card and forgot about a possible annual fee. Sept 2017 I called the company to explain I didn't want the card anymore and to please prorate the couple of months it took for me to discover they'd added an annual fee of 99.$. My argument: I'm not keeping the card so it's not fair to charge me the full year. After calling several floor employees (each one I had a hard time understanding, so not sure where there call service employees are based) I got different answers. One would push for paying the full amount regardless of closing the account, the second offered to take off 25. By the time I got to a supervisor (I waited nearly 30 mins on the line folks!) the supervisor SEEMED very nice and accomodating, and then only offered me 25 off IF I KEPT THE CARD OPEN. So, I owe around 75.$, still have the darn card, and warning others to just stay away. Desperate times mean STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Im writting this because im being ripoff by milestone gold card. i have available credit and ever time i use it they decline it. im tired of calling them to fix it but they doing but they are taking my 35.00 every month and got a nerve to charge me 59.00 and i can't even use d**n card because they decline it ever time. i want my money and the next step to report you better business place. I want my money back
