Any one who is reading this and considering purchasing a cat or kitten from Mikkat Persian, please reconsidered. Kathy is an irresponsible breeder, who breeds inbred, unhealthy cats. I have a cat from her that she sold with a genetic heart defect. I believe at that time Kathy knew this cat was sick, but decided to sell her anyway. It cost me thousands of dollars in health bills to finally figure out what was wrong with my cat, and it was an extremely stressful situation. My cat was constantly getting upper respiratory infections and she has also been diagnosed with FVR, which Kathy claims none of her cats have. She also bred my cat to the extreme, her nares were too small for her to breath. I had to pay to get her surgery to widen her nares, just so she could function everyday. Also, the vets told me her sternum is towarded inward towards her lungs, due to this breeder's constant inbreeding of cats. She claims to care about cats' health, but she doesn't. All she cares about is the money from them. Find a better cat breeder that actually cares where their cats live. I'm glad I saved my cat's life, because she would have died otherwise.
Purchased a kitten from Kathy in February 2018. The kitten immediately had a runny nose which she told us was from the "deworming medication" she had given to her. As a few days go by she developed a full on upper respatory infection- $300 later from the vet and the infection starts to clear up. A few days after that we suspect the kitten has worms as she begins to bloat- again another trip to the vet and $500 in testing indicates she does in fact have round worms WHICH IS ONLY FROM THE MOTHER CATS MILK. After several rounds of de wormer however we suspect something is still wrong. The vet begins to think that the kitten has an unusual balloon-ish abdomen and suspects FIP. Blood work indicates that the kitten was positive for corona virus - to which Kathy states AFTER all this "all my cats have corona virus". Long story short - numerous trips to the vet my poor kitten DIES from FIP less than two months of having her. Her policy states no refunds, only replacements to which she states she doesn't have any kittens to replace, not that I would take another kitten from her, EVER. Where this kitten was supposed to live a long life it was cut short by an unscrupulous breeder who could care less about the health of the kittens she sells. Caveat emptor, LET THE BUYER OF HER KITTENS BEWARE.
I have had a cat from Kathy and he is in Perfect health to this day. Prince is a delight. He is super affectionate and loves people. He has had no health problem at all. He goes yearly to the vets for a checkup and his necessary vaccines. I would definately get another cat from Kathy. Kathy only breds top quality show cats in her program and Shows her cats on a regular basis. I have seen her at various show halls while I was a visitor looking at her beautiful kittens. Only reputable breeders show their top quality kittens and cats. I have been to Kathy's home repeatedly over the many years that I have known Kathy and I have never seen anything that would be unscrupulous or irresponsible. From what I have seen anyone could go to her house at anytime and see how healthy her cats and kittens are. I can't wait until I get another cat from Kathy again.

I love my furry babies as much as my own kids and I will go nowhere else for another. Kathy is always there to help with a question if I have it. She knows more about cats than any vet I have been to. Her house and cats are spotless and beautiful and my 3 loves are a credit to her breeding. I have known Kathy for many years and know her to be an honest and forthright breeder who loves her cats and takes excellent care of them. I’ve been to her home and have seen her cats and cattery. All perfectly clean, cats healthy, and everything neat and orderly. FIP for example, is a mutation of the corona virus which most cats carry naturally and is never accurately detectable before it develops. It is not carried in the lines of the breeding cats, and there is no cure. The current vaccine for FIP is of highly questionable efficacy and is not recommended. I don’t believe there is a breeder anywhere who has not experienced the devastation of a kitten they’ve placed or a pet of their own that hasn’t had a bout of FIP over the years. Like children, kittens can get sick. A simple trip to the vet’s can result in your pet picking up something contagious. It’s sad that some pet buyers automatically blame the breeder for medical issues that can and do occur sometimes. I’m sure Kathy has made an offer to these people in an effort to resolve their complaint. The accusation of inbreeding is completely mistaken. Kathy’s breeding cats are obtained from top breeders throughout the United States and overseas. Inbreeding just doesn’t happen in her breeding program. Her pedigrees are coveted and respected world wide.
