I’ve never had a bad experience with a dental office except for this one. I’m writing this so others don’t have to go through the same experience. This is what happened.
I allowed my child to receive a dental service after I was assured that insurance would pay. A month later I received a $400 bill for said service. When I complained, they said it was my responsibility to know my own insurance. I said my decision for the service was based on a belief that they were providing me accurate information, and, they shouldn’t have provided me misleading assurances. I’m now stuck with a bill that would’ve never happened if they were honest.
When I asked for a negotiated assistance with the bill, they told me to pay or my account will be sent to a collection agency, and my credit ruined. Not to be dramatic, but how isn't this akin to extortion?
