Mike McCormick was contracted to resurface my concrete pool deck. He came to the house, saw the deck was chipping and peeling. He said he could resurface it with paint/epoxy and gave me a price with a written 15 year warranty. After he finished, I was upset that he had not covered the pool to prevent overspray. The pool was full of old paint chips and oily paint covering the surface.
I told him he had to clean up the mess. He became belligerent and stated "he did not sign on for this". He made a half hearted attempt to clean the mess and left angry. I had to call my pool company to clean up the mess and retreat my pool at my expense. A few months later the deck started to bubble up and peel off in large patches showing the old paint underneath. This got worse over the months and he was called to fix the problem. After numerous excuses, promises, and no shows, he finally shows up and starts making excuses about how it was my fault and it needed the old paint removed first etc etc.
He said he would only redo the areas that was chipping and left. After more phone calls, excuses, and no shows, he finally arrives very angry, jerking his equipment around slinging rags and paint cans around and at one point, almost jerked his paint sprayer into the pool. He kept leaving doors open and refused to speak.
I watched him through the door until he disappeared. I called him to see where he was and he shouted he was done with me and if I wanted the job done right, it would cost me another $,5000.00.
His on line adds and my contract clearly states a 15 year guarantee on work done. At no time did he mention $5000.00, extra or that he could not do the job right. After he disappeared, I went to to check his work and the areas he repainted does not match the rest of the deck. He over sprayed my potted plants, water features, and walls Again he made no attempt to cover the pool so there is a huge oily paint slick in the pool.
Mike presented himself as a bully, trying to intimidate me by being rude, unprofessional, throwing things around and doing an incompetent job I am a 72 year old female disabled veteran and did not deserve to be treated in such a disrespectful maner.
