I am one of 70 condo co-owners of "the Village at Southtown" in Southgate, Michigan at Allen Road & Northline. The builder of this development, (Michael Furnari 248-770-3677) will not build our roads as he has promised me for 20 months. There are 3 avenues (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and a Main Street that have had a primary layer only of asphalt. This layer has broken-up along with the curbing. Now there are three foot wide holes in 1st and 2nd avenues making it impossible to snow plow in winter.
He has also not finished the retention pond (for flood overflow). This includes but is not limited to: (1) the walk path around the pond has not been done, (2) and necessary grading pads for anti-erosion has not been constructed. He has not installed interior sidewalks along Main Street. The street lighting has never worked and has not been completed.
The streets need to be torn up and the primary layer and secondary or finishing layer poured + new curbing installed. We fear he will skip out on the job as he has only a $102,836 performance bond with the city; this bond is not a third of the cost so it appears he can let it go and be ahead on the money. The Building Manager of the city, Mr. Casanova, is unresponsive and we also feel the city will allow this Mr. Furnari to skip-out on the work. Please help us. He has ignore a plethora of calls. winter is coming and we need your assistance. thanks
