Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department Reviews
Aug 23, 2017
I own multiple properties aside from my home in which I live. Throughout the years, I have paid thousands of dollars to this department. Recently, I needed to connect water on a home for about a week as I was in between tenants and just wanted to clean and get the place ready. The water department went out there and claims that there was water activity and therefore did not connect the water. I went to the home later that day and everything was closed. Without touching any of the faucets or anything (because they were all CLEARLY closed) I called the following morning and had them go out there again. Now I have received my bill and I’m getting charged for both visits, $45 and $35. I called them to see if there was anyway the $35 "reconnect" fee could be waived and I was given a flat NO. I explained what happened and the representative barely even let me speak and kept interrupting me. Then he told me again there was nothing they could do because they went out there twice. I asked to speak to a manager and he put me on hold for about 30 seconds and returned and once again said there was nothing they could do. Unfortunately, as a resident of Miami, you have no other choice than to be a customer of Miami Dade Water & Sewer. This means they couldn't care less about the customers they serve because we have no other option.
