This started as a boat for sale on Craigslist.org. The link is:, topeka.craigslist.org/boa/6191935986.html
The seller never sent me his contact infomration (telephone number) and said the following to be elusive:
"Sorry for my late reply but your message has been delivered into my junk
box and I haven't seen it until now. Are you getting this?
I've tried for two times to send you the link with the pictures and more
details but it comes back undelivered with a message from craigslist
saying that I'm not allowed to send links through their system. Please
send me your e-mail address so we can normally communicate and also to
send you more pictures and details. Thanks!"
Eventually after 3-weeks the seller going by the name Kevin Wilhelm sends me the following email:
"Hi,
Sorry for the late answer but I had a family emergency and just back in town.
Hope I'm not too late and you are still interested.
All options are in working order. There are no structural or electrical problems. The interior is in nice condition. No mechanical issues at all. She starts easily and restart easily all the day. There aren't any service indicators or warning lights on. All service records and owner manuals are available. Clean and clear title, no liens (ready for a quick sale).
The boat can be seen at the local MACS warehouse (check the link below to see pictures, selling price, description, specifications, etc.: https://www.metricsauto.com/inventory/STN682724/ ). I suppose you know MACS, it is MetricsAuto Consignment & Sales corporation, the consignment service for vehicles and large items mostly. If you don't know them, take a quick look at their website, it should give you an idea how they work and how they handle these sales.
I have signed a consignment agreement and left the boat in their lot because we got a great deal on a different one from a relative, and also because keeping them both is not an option (we don't have enough space).
If you want to purchase the boat and inspect/pick it up yourself, then all you have to do, is to contact the MACS and make an appointment. Just provide them my name as seller and they will shortly provide further information.
In case you are not living in the area and want to have it shipped, based on their policy and due to my membership (my past transactions), shipping up to 1000 miles is free of charge for you as a buyer (over, extra fees will apply, $1.15 per mile). For this option, you have to go on their website and "Register" for a new transaction. The process is very easy and simple, just fill out the requested information on the registration page and within maximum 24 hours, an invoice regarding the purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about this transaction, like insurance, shipping process, bill of sale, payment instructions, etc., basically all you need to know about your purchase. That's the essentially online buying process, but i should also mention their Pre Delivery Inspection you get at delivery, and their 7 day money back guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you the chance and time to decide on the boat. The pre-delivery inspection will also have an MACS representative on site who should answer your questions, show that everything works and sign the necessary delivery papers. The boat was even pre-inspected before even being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly. More information about the entire purchase process, may be found on their HOW IT WORKS page. I am sure they do a better job explaining things than I do.
That's all for now, but if you have any other questions, i'll be more then happy to assist.
These people advertise motorhomes that are too cheap to be believed. That is how they draw you in. The reviews on their Los Angeles website are phoney as well. No one answers the phone. Everything is automated. The Craigslist ads only show one pic and nothing else except for a brief description and price. Stay away! This looks like an Asian scam. They will want your personal email instead of using the Craigslist anonymous email. STAY AWAY!
Craigslist scam, person says they are in some professional field and gives professional email address. Never gives out phone number.
the MACS - Metrics auto consignment & sales AKA mantis auto consignment & sales has no location or phone number provided. No business license is found on them - a free search for the state they would claim to be in. A google search yields very little info - no location or phone number like most businesses in the USA. The limited info from a google search is all positive reviews - beware these reviews are not on real review sites - these are scam reviews. These scammers also go on to sites like this to rebute the ripoff claim, stating they had a great experience - these are scam review accounts that have been opened for a while and used for this very purpose - to continue giving credit to their scams to try to trick people.
IF YOU CANT TOUCH IT and you cant talk to anybody about it in person or on the phone DO NOT BUY. and NEVER give wire transfer info out - esp to a business that has no location where you can meet in person.
