I purchased an MB CPO vehicle from this dealership over the internet. Car arrived with several undisclosed defects. Car was not inspected as advertised, delivered in acceptable condition, nor reconditioned according to MBUSA's CPO rules and guidelines.
The vehicle was never detailed and reconditioned per MBUSA's CPO Reconditioning Manual. I found a pencil and birthday party pass from the previous owner. There were several dents and scratches on the body of the car. The front bumper was detached. The front seat had a poorly repaired rip in the synthetic leather. The windshield has large scratches and chips. There are several spots where the body paint was unfinished or poorly touched up. The entire front license plate assembly was removed from the bumper. The front left wheel was damaged. There was a rust-like powder found throughout the entire cabin, along with rhinestones from the previous owner. The inside front door pillar was hanging down when it was delivered.
The entire buying experience from Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates was the absolute worst. They suggested to file a lawsuit against them, which I did in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. This allowed me to witness firsthand how deceptive Motor Werks (Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates) and MBUSA are to their customers. They've tried blaming the delivery driver (who noted the pre-existing damage at time of pickup) to claiming that their 164-point inspection is "puffery" and customers should not rely on what they state in writing. MBUSA already admitted in court that they have no direct oversight on dealership inspections and certifications.
BUYER BEWARE!
This dealership has zero integrity, especially when they're at-fault.
