I just bought a house in Louisville, KY and thought that the Menards rebate program was great. They fail to mention that it is really a store credit, but with fixing up the house, I could use the extra credit. They have you mail in the original receipt, so I kept track of the rebate amounts that I was mailing in.
From 5/31/22 to 7/15/22 I mailed in $348.20 worth of rebates. I bought a lot of materials including a new hot water heater, and I have all receipts. There were a few small returns, but nothing major to affect the rebates by much.
The supposed 2 checks that were recently mailed add up to $53.17 which is a huge difference from what I was expecting.
On August 06, 2020 I order some windows and they came in in September and they were wrong, so we re-order them again and they came in in November and again they were wrong, so at that point, I ask for my money back and rudely they said no all they could do was an in store credit.
I said no I paid cash and that's what I need back but still no luck. And still waiting it has been 3 weeks and have not heard from them at this point I think they are just stealing my money.
I when to returns some gutter covers I had sitting in the garage at a Menards. I lost the receipt as been over 2 months and was cleaning out the garage to get rid of stuff and make some room. Did purchase them at menards and did see that you can return without receipt, so figure I give it a shot and figure worst case they will just refuse to the return.
What happened next I would have never expected? So walk to lady at the counter told her I lost reecept and been 2 to 3 months since purchase them. She stated you just need a ID, or driver licence which I provided and that they would accept them back as most was unopened.
Then she scanned them and stated that it be store credit and for the current sale price since no receipt, which I was fine with. Then manager came over and handed me a receipt inquirie and stated I would have to email them to get the store credit.
The issue is they won't give me back the cover, even after demanding them to and already took them behind the counter, otherwise I would have just forcefully grab them back and walk out of store as they can't call cops and even if they did It my item and walk in with them.
So now they stole my items, no reply let to the email I sent off and considering taking legal recourse even if it cost more then the covers as they stole them pretty much.
I never done returns before at any Menards and bought stuff about 3 to 4 time in the past 3 years. I don't have a history of doing returns and zero reson they sure have took my covers I paid $129 a box for. To be treated like a criminal and my item stolen from me is unacceptable.
I get if they wanted to refused the return due to no receipt as well within their right? But to steal the item right under you?
Misplaced receipt for product purchased so I went to Menards kiosk in Oshkosh to get a copy of receipt. After printing off receipt service desk told me I couldnt use printed receipt from kiosk to claim my rebates, even was printed on receipt. Nice to know menards has false advertising for 11 percent sale if current receipt iws missplased. Buyer beware
Made purchses of over $3000, sent in for the rebate sales slips in aug of 2017 still have not received rebate of 11 pecent. store takes no resonbilty for the rip off
Menards has on occasion an 11% rebate program. You purchase something and are given an 11% rebate for future purchases in the store. I had been anticipating a future need of several things. I had checked the prices of these items shortly before the next rebate sale. The day before the sale I happened to be in the store and checked the prices again and found that on all 3 of the items the price had been increased by about 10%. When the sale was on I purchased the items and received my rebate, thinking the price increase might have been a coincidence. After the rebate sale I returned to the store and found that they were having a new type of sale that returned the prices to the original price before the rebate sale. I returned to the store after that sale was over and noticed the prices remained the same as they had been at the previous sale price and exactly the price they originally had posted although this was several weeks after that last sale was over. It may be a coincidence but it appears that the 11% sale may very well be an intricate scam of raising the prices before the rebate sale then returning them to the original price after the rebate sale with a storewide sale and finally leaving the price at the original price after the storewide sale.

We paid it for convenience 4.49, (it is forced on you in check out) but it was nothing but a pain in the butt as we wondered
the store, trying to locate it. I doubt it was even pulled, but while waiting we decided to return it when we saw the display in
the store. It was cheap looking, so we just decieded to cancel. Customer service would not return my supposed convenience
fee.
Shame on Menards
convenience fee.
