I bought several products from thie Company, which is in my town. Their business practices are horrendous. Two of the five products I bought as presents for friends were defective. When i tried to return them, I was treated like dirt and had to jump through several hoops, and actually threaten to have my attorney call them before I got a refund.
In addition, two of my acquaintances applied for jobs there. All I can say is that both of these people, who have long resumes and do not change jobs readily had horrific experiences with this company. They were humiliated, underpaid and said that the turnaround is like nothing they have seen in their combined 23 years of customer service.
This all made sense because both of these (now former) Melissa and Doug employees told me that they were trained to do anything but provide positive service.
This company has a terrible reputation in the community and seems to be about ripping off as many people -- both customers and employees as possible.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say -- avoid them at all costs. Ew!
