Meineke Car Care Center Reviews

I made an appointment based on information printed on their website which stated that part of all oil changes is a complete tire rotation. After they had started my oil change I asked the lady at the counter if they were going to do a free tire rotation for me. She said she did not know anything about that I said it is part of the oil change description on the website she was too lazy to look at the web site she went to the shop. A man stuck his head in the door and said I was not due for a tire rotation until 30,000 miles this is incorrect information tire rotation is recommended every 3000 to 5000 miles. My tires were not rotated based on all recommendations including mfg. This location does not follow their website information and does not know the proper way to follow mfg recommendations. Go here at ur own risk

Do not support this business. You will get ripped off. Instead support one of the local, friendlier, family owned and operated mechanics in town. This place will charge you a premium fee as if they were rolling out the red carpet and then try to pass off the worst service. I have been a return customer but that has ended.

I've had my suspicions that this location was another one of those franchises you hear about, living up to the stereotype, ripping off customers. Figured I would give them a chance to prove me wrong. Instead they are textbook scam artists.

For regular oil changes, you will need to doublecheck the quality of their work. I've had to top off my oil as soon as I get home the last several times. They claim to add oil, but I don't think they can be bothered to get off their butts and do real work.

I brought my vehicle in for annual maintenance and was charged double what the dealership would have charged for work their trained, licensed, and qualified technicians would have done. At the end of the day it was over a $1k for work by lazy, unqualified technicians.

BAIT AND SWITCH! They DON'T ACCEPT COUPONS OR DISCOUNTS ADVERTISED ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE!

I scheduled several services and took them coupons that I downloaded from the Meineke site. I was very careful to print out ONLY the Meineke coupons advertised for This Location. They refused to accept them stating that they did not have to because they are independently owned.

Why are they listed on the Meineke website if they do not honor Meineke coupons? In addition, I had signed up online for the Meineke Rewards program. They informed me that they will Not Honor these as well!

Maybe I should have walked out at this point. But I had scheduled time off from my employer for this appointment, so they "had me between a rock and a hard place."

I have been a Loyal Customer for years. Sadly, I will not be back because of this treatment.

This is in reference to the on-going dispute which I opened recently against Meineke Car Care for fraudulent service.

The case is related to a faulty Catalytic Converter that was put in by one of the franchise owners located in Roswell, GA which is no longer in operation. I had asked for a converter which would ualify for California where I was going to move. This guy said yes but he would have to charge me a premium. Upon my move to California I tried to get emissions tested and that's wheh I found out I was ripped off. This a*****e put in a converter without any mrkings on it and California would not accept it. I paid $430 for it when in fact I could have got it for $325.00 for a Georgia converter.

I reached out to Corporate who directed me to a local Meineke center to have it certified that the part put in was not the right part. A local Meineke Center took a look at the part and relayed the message to corporate that the part put in was wrong. Meineke Corp then promised me they would pay for the part as long as I paid the labor charges at that center. I called the local merchant who suggested that I leave the car for a few days because he was booked solid. Here I am in California with only one car at my disposal and I had no time to wait for it. Besides I would have had to pay for a rental car at the same time. I pleaded with Meineke Corporate to cut me a check for the part and that I would get it fixed elsewhere because I did not have the luxury of time and I had to register my car in California soon. I decided to get a new converter for $320.00 including labor (took 10 mins to do it) for another local shop but Meineke Corporate insisted that I go to the local Meineke even after I told them that I had got a new converter installed already. The owner at the local Menieke store even remarked that at $320.00 it was a very good price because his price would be over $500.

Now all I was asking for is around $275.00 because I was willing to take a cut for the labor. I am aghast at their attitude and I would rather Meineke pay the whole disputed amount of $430.00. I complied with all their requirements only to be denied a refund and that’s not fair. This company is legendary when it comes to ripping off folks who don't know what goes into their cars. Scum bags to say the least. Someone has to teach these jerks a big lesson and I am not resting until I get some form of justice. Next step is to drag them to Small Claims Courts. Let this warning to folks go to anybody but never go to a franchise auto repair shop because they all run scam shops. Go to a local auto shop always.

I came here for a free brake inspection. As advertised they inspect all components of brakes for free. Which is asked for and did not receive. Instead he asks me if my brake pedal was soft. I say yes. He then tells me it’s $50 to put on the lift and diagnose. Even though he didn’t even perform the free brake inspection which would have revealed a busted brake hose. The oil was leaking onto the differential so this clown tells me that I need to change the differential and he could do it for $200. I denied the service. However his mechanics tried removing the bolts, they failed and broke the bolt head off the first one. Leaving me with a broken stud in the differential housing. I did not notice this until the following day. After repeatedly asking Dennis, how he performs brake inspections without using a lift, since all components are only visibly from underneath the car or behind the tires, he became irritated and then verbally assaulted me by calling me "f****** cheap”.

Furious with this type of service and treatment I called corporate. And upon discovering the damage, they advised me to go back to the location and dispute it with the owner. The same guy who verbally assaulted me.

Upon my return the next day, I confronted Dennis with the damages and I tried to record the encounter. He tried taking my phone from me and then tried to physically assault and threaten me by making a fist. I filed a report with the police, who basically said the charges would be petty. So I didn’t press any charges. Corporate basically told me I was on my own and that they do not issue financial disputes. And since the owner had stated he won’t pay for damages that I was basically on my own. I miracously got a hold of the ceo and briefly explained the situation. I was contacted by corporate the next morning and awarded a check for the damages. This only included the physical damages done to my vehicle. This does not include the charges of the "diagnostics” that could’ve have been discovered through their free brake inspection. Also this does not compensate me for the time and stress I’ve endured at the hand of this incompetent and physically abusive owner.

This Meineke charged me $724.74 for a tune-up and did not use new parts they charged me for. The mechanic and manager was deceptive about the diagnostic findings, and never presented the codes they supposedly found. I addition to this lie they said that I needed a new battery to get more money;I declined. Also the manager's attitude was very obnoxious and offensive. He didn't want to be 'bothered' with my concern. He had me talk with him in a dark room because he refused to turn on the lights. Before I could even tell him what was wrong, he said I don't know what you want to talk to me, I'm only going to tell you what you already heard. I am totally taken back by this statement. Get proceeded to look down, uninterested, disengaged and rudely asked what do I want him to do. He said you want me to fire him? I can but I'll just get another guy in her the next day. I have never, ever had a store manager behave in this manner.

Being a woman I wanted to take my vehicle to a repair shop that was known all over USA but little did I know this place was even crookeder than I ever saw coming. So I drop my truck off to ozz( store manager) told him my front end needs to be diagnostic and replace and fix any and everything plus einligent to my car no matter what the cost and I paid 3600 right off the get go so he calls 4 days later your vehicle is ready . I go pick it up and am charged an additional 3500 which 1500 was to replace my air conditioning which does work great . But that's not my reason there so I pay up and give ozz a 50 dollar tip on good faith. I get on the freeway and there is no different my truck is all over the road. He was suppose to if overhauled my front end and fix a leaks . I taken to another mechanic and he tells me only 1 tierid has been replaced and my truck needs new bushings there are 2 leaks that need attention and a ailignmemt which was never done . So I take my mechanic backs and talk to ozz my mechanic asks where is your aiglinment machine which he said they did an eilignmemt ow guess why they didn't have one . So not only did they loosen my cables.for my er brake to not work they also unscrewed my bolt to my steering box and that's what played s major role in the truck being returned to me in worse.condition thanni left it. So I am our almost 6500 dollars and a truck that still needs the front door end work done . Not happy with this place they charged me over r6000 to reach one tie rod and lied about everything else

Meinike Had a catalytic converter replaced on a 2006 BMW 750I replaced on the passanger side of car. In less than a year, the converter failed. Meinike stated that they couldnt repair the part because they were not responsible for the warrenty, but rather the manifacturer was responsible. I paid $2000 dollars for one catalytic converter. The shop where the car was repaired was oporating under a closed status, while repairing my car. Dispite these issues Meinike refuses to repair my vehicle or reimburse me. The shop location is now officially closed after taking customers money while opetating illegally. The shop was located in Rivetdale Georgia. Please be very careful when purchasing a catalytic conveter from Meinike.

I went to Meineke off Goodman Road in HornLake MS to have a front end alignment done on my Honda. After sitting there less than 10 minutes I was called over by the Man who initially checked me in, he proceeded to show me a paper lying on his desk which had the words Dangerous with several exclamation marks after it. He then proceeded to tell me that I had a very serious issues with my car that if not addressed immediately would be very dangerous. He then asked me if I had ever seen vehicles on the side of the highway with their wheels collapsed in or out, I told him I had and that I assumed it was due to a wreck or axle problem he told me that would happen to my car. I asked him to show me the problem area so he led me out to the service area and called over another Man who took a jack or metal bar of some sort and put it under my tires and raised it several times while asking me if I saw the massive amount of movement in the spot he was pointing to...I saw no movement!! He tried both sides several times in an attempt to convince me that I was seeing something that was not there.

When I told him I would take the car to a Honda dealership for service he tried several times to discourage me from doing so. After that he told me that my catalytic convertor also needed to be replaced and that would cost me much more than the $459.00 he was trying to charge me for replacing my ball joints. I then said that hearing all that meant that it was time to get did of the car if it was going to cost me excessive repair costs, he quickly told me that was not necessary that my car was suffering from normal wear and tear. I again told him I would sell the car and cut my losses.

The next day I took my car to another repair shop and told them I needed a front end alignment , I left the car for an hour and came back my car was fixed. I asked them if they saw any issues with my ball joints they said there were none just the normal indications of the need for a front end alignment which were corrected by the alignment. Not only did Meineke attempt to defraud me by fabricating issues with my car they told me that they could not perform a front end alignment on my car because of the severely degraded condition of my ball joints but they said they had to charge me $47.00 for determining a non-existent problem. They performed NO Work on my car! As a Woman I have always been terrified of taking my car in for repairs, and until now I have not had to deal with it but sadly the horror stories about certain car repair companies are true.

I left there still terrified that my wheels would collapse under my car because I could not and did not pay out over $500 for bogus repairs. I will say that this has been going on for far too long there have been under cover investigations and exposes but no punishment or serious enough penalty to deter these crooked businesses from taking advantage of mainly females, but thod has to stop and I intend to not only recover my $47.00 but I will make it my mission to bring the full extent of the law to bear on this company.

SHAME ON YOU MEINEKE!

We were having issues with our wheel making noise and driving shaking. I took the car to Meimeke. I advised them my personal mechanic said it was the bearings but they said I still had to do a diagnostic. Upon completing it they came back with a completely different report. Due to the untimely death of my mechanics mother, I had no one to ask .. so as a female alone ... I trusted this shop!!! Big mistake!! 1,325.00 later I thought the problem was fixed. Wrong again' The wheels didn't shake as bad but the car didn't ride the same. Then one day the car sounded as if it was about to break! Guess what??? The wheel baring was in fact about to snap. I took the car back Meineke along with my mechanic only to find out they wouldn't own up to the fact that they replaced things that were not needed. They said things like" construction in the city can do it.. every excuse. Upon speaking with the owners all they wanted to do was me but more service! Never once would they admit that they added things to up charge and the fact the problem that I had months before still existed . I as a female trusted this location to give me the service .. but they ripped me off and almost caused me and my family to possibly die if the wheel had broke. So the break down was Shop supplies 39.99 Parts 609.39 ( they advised they do a 100% mark up on parts) Labor 585.91 Sub total 1236.29 Sales tax 89.63 Total 1325.92 With all the money I paid my car can not move! Please do not use Meineke without a second opinion... they will rip you off

RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL SCAM ARTIST My wife had a coupon for a 19.99 oil change that ended up costing 110.94 for oil change and drain plug. I went in there to find out why it cost so much when she had a coupon for 19.99. Larry asked if he could help me and I stated no I need to talk to Glen he is the one that delt with my wife earlier in the day. I asked Glen why my wife had a coupon for 19.99 oil change and then up charged her to 110. Larry told me I'm not gonna come into his store with attitude and I could leave. I said I'm talking to Glen not you and he said I'm the owner here and you can just leave. I was being cool not raising my voice or nothing. I told Larry that I don't know why he is trying to intimidate me and Glen told me I need to leave. They still hadn't told me why my wife was charged so much. Larry was cussing at me, I told him my family would never come here again and he said your dad will because he comes here all time and he knows how much of a tool you are. He was really trying to push my buttons and cussing at me more in the parking lot. They finally ended up showing me the invoice but still Larry was being very rude and disrespectful. I ended up contacting corporate customer service for the way I was treated.

Don't not trust these people about their rebate program , it is nothing but a lie , been three months , numerous phone calls, nothing but a crooked run around. They are crooks

  • Dec 8, 2016

I had to get my inspection and was out in the area for school so I decided to go to Meineke. They told me my breaks were rusty and that they couldn't pass me because Penndot passed a law two years ago. They told me they would give me the breaks for free but it would cost $274 in labor for an hour and 40 mins. When I told them I wanted to get a second opinion they got really nasty to me. I took the car to the person who I actually go to at home and he looked at my brakes. There was not any rust on them. The breaks were over half and when he pulled it out it was a different break than the one meineke pulled out of my car. Meineke showed me someone else's break to get into my pocket! I will never go back here again.

I was supposed to get a $10.00 rebate on my oil change. I sent them the form and the receipt. A few months later I hadn't gotten it so I called them. They said they will resend it. I double checked to make sure that they had the right name and address. A month goes by, still no rebate. I call again and they said they will resend it. Never came so I called again. They said they will resend it. I called a total of 10 times and each time they said they will resend it. A year later I still never got the rebate. They are full of crap saying they resent it, if they did I would have gotten it just like I do all my other mail. It is a total scam.

First, let me say that I use the Meinke in Clemmons, NC. Brett and his dad are the best. Because of this great relationship I have with the owners here, I sent my 82- year-old mother to your store on 51st Ave. in Glendale.

I could not be more upset or disappointed.

Jeff is the Gen. Mgr there. I called him yesterday and made an appointment for my mother at 10a today. He promised he would "take good care of her." He lied.

He has defrauded and taken advantage of my 82-year-old mother in a way that I never thought I would see from Meinke.

Here is the summary of today's events:

1. My mom, Janie Baker, went to her appt. at 10a today. The "Drivers Side Airbag" light had been on, so I asked Jeff to plug it into the computer and see what the problem was. I asked him to call me once he had it plugged in, as my mom is elderly and cannot deal with these things. I waited and hour and a half for his call. It never came, so I called him. He told me that they were "busy with many cars" and have been trying to get to it "off and on." He didn't know who I was and had to look at his file to remember about my mom's car.

I asked why he hadn't called me as he promised and he said, "We are very busy today. This was at about 11:00a AZ time. He said that he would charge "133.00 per hour and it would be a two hour job and he would credit back one hour." But, he told my mom that it would be a "3 hour job, and he would credit back the first hours, so her bill would be $266.00.

I told him my mom could not wait there for another hour or longer. She was just in a serious car accident in PHX that killed my father. She has not recovered yet and cannot sit long in one place. Jeff said he would have someone take my mom home and then go pick her up in "a couple of hours" when the car was complete. He said he would call me in "an hour or so." He never called.

So, I called him again at 3p AZ time. He answered the phone and didn't know who I was. Once he found the paperwork, he said that he "hoped to have a diagnosis by the end of the day and would call me." I reminded him that he had promised to call me in a couple of hours and had not done so. He laughed, a long laugh telling me that he was "very busy today with many appointments." STRIKE ONE.

That was my limit.

I asked him to send someone to pick up my mom as she needs her car for a Grief Share Class later tonight. He told me that "we don't usually pick up the person, we just drop them off." I was struggling to contain myself at this point. I asked him if I needed to have my mom call a taxi to pick her up and take her to his store. He then said that "when someone is free I will have them go pick her up, we are very busy today."

He said that if she came and picked up her car she would need to pay $133 because she interrupted their diagnosis. I asked what he had done on the car and the said, "I just cannot wave a magic wand to figure this out, I know you don't understand this, but it takes time." STRIKE TWO.

So, I said basically you have just plugged it into the computer to obtain the error codes and haven't done anything more and yet you want $133 for that? He said, "No, we have done a lot and worked on the car, again I just cannot wave a magic wand." I asked what he had done, and he again repeated that he had obtained the error codes.

At the time of this official complaint 3:35p, no one has picked up my mother. She is stressed to the max, having just lost her husband and now wondering how she will get to her Grief Class tonight. I have called her a cab for 7p to take her to and pick her up from her class.

She was going to take her car to the dealership. I talked her out of that and set up the Meinke appt. because of my great relationship with the owners here.

I can not be more embarrassed or angry over this defrauding of my mother, an 82-year-old widow who has been disrespected in a way I thought not possible. STRIKE THREE.

So, here is what I am going to do: I have instructed my mom to pay the $133 that Jeff said is owed for doing nothing but keeping her car all day. I will then reimburse her with all my apologies.

Then, I will instruct my attorney to file a civli complaint against Meinke and Jeff personally for fraud. I don't care what it costs me, I will not allow your company to treat my mother the way you have today.

In April 2016 we took our Ford Expedition to Meineke to have a broken bolt removed from the motor. The manager asked that we leave the turck overnight so a Diagnostic could be done on the truck. The manager called us the next morning and said he had found a lot of code erors. We went to the shop and received from the manager a list of approximately eight codes that the manager said had to be fixed before the truck would drive safely. The manager said that due to the error codes and the fact that black smoke was coming from the exhaust we would need a manifold, 1 converter, and 2 heads. The manager explained that they would need a couple days to fix the code error,,,s and that we would be called when the code erors were fixed.

After not hearing anything from the Meineke shop for several days, my fiancee dropped in to see how ithe repair was going. The manager told my fiancee that it had been decided that another motor and a secod converter had to be put in our truck since black exhaust smoke continued to come from the exhaust after the previous mentioned manifold, and the previous 1 head, and the previous first converter had been put on the truck. The process of putting another motor into our truck had already beeen started without notifying us or asking us if we agreed previously. Our original motor had already been broken down.

The manager said that the repairmen would need about 1 work week to finish inserting the new motor and testing. We picked the truck after about 2 weeks as it took longer to finish the work. We rented a truck for about 5 business days while waiting for the repair. We picked the truck up and about 5 dsays later noticed that the truck was leaking. We took the truck back to Meineke and the Meineke employee determined it was leaking transmission fluid. The Meineke reparman fixed the leak and we dove home.

About 4 days later we started hearing a grinding noise when the truck was driven and noticed a couple details had been overlooked. from the repair. The plastic covering for wires on the back wall had not been pugt back after the repair and the battery holder was not put back, it was hanging loose.

We again took the truck back and the Meineke reparman put the plastic cover back on the wires on the back wall of the truck. When we asked the manager about the grinding noise and mhow we thought it was from loose bolts that had not been tightened. We asked the manager if nwe could take the truck to a Ford dealer to have the truck examined and fixed and send Meineke the invoice. The manager then said that we could have loosened the bolts ourselves or had somebody else work on the truck.

My fiancee and I told the manager that his suggestion was ridculous as Meineke had done the original work and it made no sense to switch in the middle of the process. At this point, we had called and talked to Meineke Corporate Head Quarters , which was a total, waste of time as Corporate kept referring us back to the manager.Merineke had also said the truck would pass emissions and it failed.

On August 4, 2016 (Thursday) the air compressor fell completely out from under the truck while the truck was being driven. The serpentine belt came off as well, making it hard to steer to get out of the way of traffic. We have paid $2,999.56 and as of August 8, the truck is back in the Meineke shop. The manager refuses to give us any written documentation for record. Hopefully we will pick up the truck again and determine if there is anyone else we can talk to about this rip-off.

We will never use Meineke again fro anything and will make sure to warn family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

This issue raises an extraordinary interest that compels me to direct to your attention immediately. The absence of any articulated response suggests a holding principle to not remedy the issue. Any silence only rubber-stamps the issue and deeply supports the principle. As with any public servant quality services from professional employees are expected and vital. There is no valued and deeply cherished right than to be employed and provide that level of service. However, in some instances an employee can abuse their position of employment or authority. There is an acknowledged constitutional right to be recognized and make an argument. The right to be recognized is part of the fundamental principles of the constitution. On the other hand there is a general right that will clearly show an individual’s rights as a law-abiding citizen. The mere recognition of a written complaint does not mean that the statement governs interest. This issue is important not because of the complaint but because of racial profiling. I realize that no organization is error-free however, it is expected that employees render a level of professionalism that reflects the organization or business goal. The right to be recognized is part of the fundamental principle. On the other hand there is general right that will clearly show an individual’s covert motives and intention of any deeply rooted ideology. This issue is important not because of the complaint but because it is based upon intimidation, rudeness and professionalism. Also, it raises an extraordinary interest that compels in addressing relevant factors of the issues. It must be said on the onset of this statement and with clarity that is common practice by select individuals supremacy principles and beliefs that does not support any legitimacy articulating for an argument or challenge to confrontation. However, this is exactly what has been happen. The real danger of this issue is that it lies and the troubling aspects that are in the implication of discretionary power.

On July 2, 2016 at approximately 08:00 a.m. I sent my daughter to the Meineke located at 4839 East Colfax, Denver, CO 80220 to get an oil change for my car. I had received a coupon for an oil change honoring a Father’s Day Special. The coupon did not expire until August 2016. The individual became totally unprofessional and rude as if someone owed him something. Undoubtedly, this individual mindset was meant to dehumanize my daughter as a minority in the front of numerous customers and coworkers. The individual apparently realized that his challenge of white supremacy principles and beliefs did not support her legacy of legitimacy racist evil towards dark skin was not articulating an argument or challenge. After balancing his compelling constitutional right that clearly subjectively and validated his ignorance she left for the sake of an argument. He had no probable cause or no real significant reason for his actions but to control. This was an extended volume of Meineke racism towards African-American females that mirrors in microcosm which is overwhelmingly the implications of the truth. I encompassed his actions as a "truly outrageous” a decision that was based on a groundless principle and circumstance under which the principle character is sufficiently lacking any muster. This shared ideology seems to be an ongoing issue at the store. He felt his imposed created rule not to honor the coupon spoke with authority and had a principle that has been established for a rational basis but when it rises to a level of a fundamental intention to intimidate it is illegal. He intendedly misrepresented the facts.

I do not take lightly the bias practice that was conducted by your employee and their shared racist ideology of racial profiling against Africa-Americans. Maybe his actions are systematic in racial profiling blacks that I missed the message as a senior citizen with nineteen (19) years of schooling (four years undergraduate, two years graduate and an American Bar Associate (ABA) Paralegal Certificate). Plus an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer with honorable discharges that has serviced this county during the Vietnam Era and Desert Storm.

The mgr. DJ after having an appointment and on arrival stated they had a ownership change at Meineke and no longer honor the planet supersaver cards. I feel that this is illegal and does not show well for Meineke.

I feel that I should be refunded the purchase cost of the Planet Super Saver.

I got my newly bought Chevy Cobalt '06 and there was only a few problems with it. I went to the Meineke shop where my dad trusts the most for some odd reason. The guy looked shifty and I no longer trust this company. I got it fixed and then all of the sudden I still got rattling while going through a mild rocky road. It definitely felt and sounded unusual. The whole car itself was looked over by them and there should be nothing else wrong with it due to the repairs. We bought the parts needed to fix it online and the parts were looked over to be an honest fit for my car. He charged me WAY more than what was supposed to be the right price. Driving a couple days after felt smooth, but lo and behold, there's something wrong still. They made my dad pay for a part that had to be replaced three times! It was a part that seriously only needs to be replaced once every 5 years. Not three times in one month.

Absolutely pathetic non existant people skills. A simple oil change turned into a nightmare. I was visiting the area for a month or so & driove to NJ from SC, so I figured I'd get my oil changed early & proactively.

Simple right?

The owner "Frank" is pathetic to deal with....ever do an oil change? Drain, replace filter, fill with oil Pay & leave.

I WISH...the techs are apparently NOT ASE certified or any certified at all-they dress very sloppy ( no uniforms) and seemed to argue over tools ( from what I witnessed). I brought the car in with absolutely NO leaks whatsoever on a fantastic 207k mile Cadillac that is pampered & unusually clean. During the oil change the "tech" broke the transmission line & it would cost $350 to repair the line. I WAS MORTIFIED!!!!! Period. After contesting the whole scam, quietly since it's my families neighborhood I drove home, less than 1/4 mile away. Parked the car and less than an hour later the neighbor across the street knocked on the door (of which I told what happened after he complimented the car when I got back) and told me there's oil all over the place on the ground.

I called them, didn't use the vehicle and the next morning brought it back to get the line fixed for $150 ( 1st told me $350 :-/).

What an absolute scam, it's not the 1st time so I was told never to go to that shop AND I WISH I read the online Yelp & other reviews first.

AVOID this backyard mechanic scam repair shop. ABSOLUTELY should be shut down!!!

I went in to the serene location for a simple oil change on my 2011 Audi A4 I just bought 5 months earlier with no prior leaks. After waiting for hours I was sent on my way finally done. The next day (sun) a puddle of oil appeared under my car in my garage. As the shop was closed I called the shop told them the car was leaking badly and asked if I could go into one of their other locations closer to my house (Craig and Decatur) I was told yes that they were owned by the same person. I went into the Decatur shop to find out that was not true yet they agreed to help me anyway. They supposedly fixed my problem saying it was the oil gasket that was the problem . 2 days later another big puddle of oil left at my job under my car. My oil sensor showed half missing ! Take my vehicle in for the third time and am then told the problem is my oil pan cover , that no one seemed to notice 2 oil changes ago! I was told that these go out randomly And they were not going to fix it and the charge was over $550! I had no leaks what so ever until this oil change in which I have documents that the serene shop messed up the oil gasket ! I contacted meinekes complaint line and was called back by supposedly the corporate office in North Carolina . She was rude and came on the line with no intentions to help me shifting the problem back on me to contact the Decatur store myself because they are all individually owned ! Horrible treatment !!!! Never will they touch my car again !!!

Fraud, deception in service and liars as well.

1: Requested Pennzoil 10w30, received lesser quality bulk oil.

2. Oil was 1 quart low when finished.

3. Mechanic spilled oil across 5 feet under the hood, left to right and front right to firewall.

4. Mechanic wore keys on a front belt loop damaging paint to the metal.

5. Mechanic and manager lied. Said they would replace the oil with Pennzoil but he did not.

STAY AWAY!!! - Meineke at 6650 Kee Ln, Harrisburg, NC 28075

Phone:(704) 455-3870

I came in for a motorcycle inspection on 3/29/16 during my lunch break. Have been a customer for close to 5 years inspecting 2 bikes each year.

It took 45 minutes for Ryan, the owner of the franchise to come out to where the bike was parked. As he was approaching me all I said to him was: "Well, it is about time!" In his response Ryan gave me back my registration card and said: "I only make $6 on an inspection so I don't care and if you do not like to wait 45 minutes then you can go somewhere else. I even pleaded with him: "Please, I already waited all this time here and I am late from my break at work, please just do it."

But NOOO, Ryan had to go on a power trip as a proud franchise owner that he is and flat out refuse to inspect which takes ONE minute to do - lights, brake light, blinkers, tire tread and horn.

Yes, you read it right, full refusal of service because I dared to complain about the wait by saying: "about time!"

I took my vehicle in to Meineke because of a loud knocking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. I was told that they needed to replace the two front tires, do a service on the rear differential and perform a transmission service.

Two - three weeks after getting my vehicle back the engine started smoking. I pulled into a parking lot and had it towed to Meineke. They called and told me that the transmission was totally shot and they could not even shift it into gear.

Up to that point there were no tell-tale signs of the transmission going out (I know because I've had multiple transmissions fail on me over the years). Meineke swore up and down that they did nothing wrong and that there transmission service could not have possibly caused the problem. BUT... they gave me over $300 basically to go away. Have you ever heard of someone giving you money when they've done nothing wrong!

To top it all off, when I got my car back the battery was stone cold dead. So dead that the keyfab could unlock the doors. Some idiot must have left a light on in the car - probably the same one that didn't do anything wrong to my trans!

Meineke #1204 Lawrenceville GA unethical practices

On January 19, 2015 I had a CORVETTE C5 Z06 STAINLESS STEEL PERFORMANCE EXHAUST CATBACK installed at the Meineke Car Care Center #1204 on my 2001 C5 Corvette. It’s a 45 minute job which requires no welding. So I dropped off my car and one hour later the tech calls me back stating they can do the job for $200.00. I say go ahead but I’m thinking that not right.

I pick up my car 3 hours later. Drive it home and park it in the garage and head out on my Christmas vacation with the family.

Upon returning I’m all excited about the new clean high performance exhaust system on my baby (C5).

I get under the car to see how it looks and low and behold I was in for a surprise. As I stated before no welding is required but they spot welded both sides. One side of the dual exhaust had some type of welding compound all over it. It look terrible. When I say a picture is worth a thousand word it’s true. Brand new pipes ruined!!!!! I have all the pictures to show.

That’s not all, hand prints all over my new stainless steel exhaust. They could have cleaned it off. Hand prints and oil on a hot STAINLESS STEEL exhaust don’t mix. Again ruined!!!!

So I called the Manager to inform her what I found. Within 15 seconds of explaining she says hold on and never came back to the phone. I call back and they hang up on me. I call back again and no one answers. At that time I call the Meineke Corporate Office. I file my complaint and get a call back. At that time I explained what happen. The Corporate Office calls the shop and calls me back. They call me back and ask if I would take the car back to the Meineke #1204. I take it back to the shop knowing there wasn’t much they could do… The damage was done. The tech attempts to clean off the welding compound. It was a joke!!!

While waiting in the lobby while the tech attempts to correct the issue. The manager informs another client labor will be $100.00 an hour. That can't be true because I was charged $200.00 an hour. My receipt shows one hour of labor at $200.00. There were no parts. This was a very simple job. I email the Meineke Corporate Office asking why I got charged $200.00 an hour on the Dec 26, 2015 and still haven’t got a response.

On Dec 31, 2015 I’m on Ebay and notice my old C5 Exhaust system being sold by one of the Meineke employees.

I see now Meineke as a whole is unethical and allow unethical practices. How can they remain in business with these type of practices?

These people are huge price gaugers. Beware. As a woman who can build motors they still tried to rape my wallet for nothing.

They hooked up a loosened vacuum hose for $90. Shame on them. Total bill was over $125 for a loose vacuum hose with oil change. All they did was a code reading but they argue they did more, but all the while I was watching the car sit for over an hour with no diagnositic machine hooked to it.

They did an oil change which usually clears the "service engine soon" light. It needed to be cleared manually and they did not do it becaue they wanted it to appear that the Oil Change didn't work. They wanted to extend my visit with a "full diagnostics" that they try and get everyone to buy. That test is bogus. I never got a print out. I thought that's what I paid $90 for. What a sheister manager. He is disgusting and has zero people skills. He doesn't care what your car needs. Just pay triple for the service and parts. I felt bad for the guy who waited all afternoon in the frezzing cold waiting room for his new tire installation to the tune of $750. Now who does that? Sears or Tire store would have sold a better tire for way less.

BONUS COMMENT: I was quoted $394 to change out the CV joint boot with NO WARRANTY which takes 15-30 minutes to install. A great shop down the road is doing it for $80 install and $80 for the part. Do not take your car here. The new manager is a creep. He thinks women are too dumb to understand car mechanical issues even if you have done several rebuilds. Crass and rude comments about being a woman who is repair savvy. DO NOT spend your hard earned money here. They need to fold for excessive charges. When you call the manager on the high price for doing nothing he doesn't know what to say, He gets all flustered, rude and confused. What a boorish ineffective old dude. Since he's been there, the place is a wreck. It's only a matter of time before they close unless they get a new manager.

In the end they were charging way more for the part than necessary. THAT is totally unethical and guaranteed a business who cheats will not survive. It's only a matter of time before all the cusomers find better shops.

I was towed in to Meineke in Farmington MO with a fuel pump that went out as I was on my way home from an out of town work trip. They got me in and back on the road however the fuel gage didn't work properly. Instead of traveling 2hrs away back to the original shop they let me go to the Meineke right down the road from my house. They replaced the fuel pump with a new one but it didn't work right either. They put a 3rd one in and it leaked gallons of gas out of the fuel pump when I went to fill up but the fuel gage finally worked. I went back for a 4th fuel pump and no more leaks but the fuel gage didn't work again.

I decided to go to another Meineke near my home in Oakville they did not replace a fuel pump but said that I was missing a sensor and asked if I was having gas leaks. I hadn't had a leak from the pump in weeks but after leaving the Oakville location headed out of town for vacation I was flagged down on the highway saying I was leaking something. The leak was astronomical and now I was stranded on side of the highway with my whole family.

I contacted corporate and they said I had to go back to the original shop 2hrs from my home and drop it off and come back after they looked at it. I felt that each time I went back to any given Meineke my truck just got worse.

My summary is that they knew the issue all along but one of their guys failed to put the fuel pressure regulator back on during one of my visits and they didn't want to admit it. Instead they jeapordized my entire families safety over a $100 part. So from each shop to Meinekes corporate office I feel they are all crooks.
