I prefer to take care of my debt by check. Medicredit mails their bills to people without enough time to mail them back to meet the deadline. When I called them about this, they told me on the phone they bill on the 2nd and it was due by the 15th. It's impossible that they send their hard copy bills on the 2nd because I did not receive my hard copy bill until the 13th and that would allow me two days to return it by mail.
They try to force you into their mailing deadline guides without any flexibility whatsoever. I have very good credit and their customer service representatives do not take that into account. In reality, I was surprised that my bill ended up with them in the first place since I pay monthly on the hospital bill that I owe and cannot do anymore than I already am due to a fixed retirement income. But they are unconcerned with any of that - they want your money and they are unwilling to flex at all in their protocol. So far, I would rate their customer service reps a D in grading.
I wonder why showing that I owe you for non existing debt
I called you because you showed on my credit that I owe you $5 but you said I do not owe you anything and you can not remove the figure of $5 from my credit report. It ridiculous that you do not want me to pay that $5 and yet you cannot remove it from my record.I would have asked for assistance in case I could not be able to pay it.
I recieved a letter that had "TTTOGW01 PO Box 1022 Wixom, MI 48393" as the return address but in the letter had Medicredit PO Box 1629 Maryland Heights, MO 63043 on the back of the letter.
A previous complaint cited the "PO Box 1022 Wixom, MI 48393" address for ER Solutions and consumeraffairs reports 70 complaints (as of this writing) on Medicredit many claiming money being sent but not creditied.
Looking around I found a topix forum on this with this statement:
"This means there are 2 addresses and this is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act, a federal law that does not allow a 3rd party to be involved in the collection of a debt. Because the collection agency uses a Michigan return address, this implies a 3rd party. In the FDCPA this is a violation of section 807 (14). The "true name" has to be used. Obviously if a debt collection agency is using a return address in Michigan then that address is not the "true name" of the collector, and this is a violation that can be pointed out to the collector."
If correct then this company has potentual legal issues regarding debt collection.
