I hope you are well aware of the problems with building on and near the Proctor Road Landfill, if you proceed in building these homes not only will your reputation be further damaged, no reasonable bank will loan money, no reasonable insurance company will insure, no informed licensed realtor will sell (without fully disclosing what is under these homes), and no knowledgeable purchaser will ever live in one of these homes. You may be long out of the business before the first person contracts cancer or gets sick, but rest assured you have been notified of these hazards, and people involved with your organization are well aware of the toxins under the ground where you intend to build. Please consider what you are doing before putting your construction shed up on the property.
We believe Sarasota County Commission has overlooked some serious issues of public health and probable violation of the law.
There is no evidence within the record that the known toxins (other than arsenic), were adequately tested for prior to initiating construction plans. What is the location of the known leachate plumes that exist today? Why do you not require evidence that there is no harmful toxic waste material 20’ below the surface scattered about the area (since trash was already found under homes & in Waverly during spot holes) What happened to the recent tests and reports that disclosed toxins other than Arsenic found on the property?

You will find sworn testimony and test results on the website, foxfirewest.com, showing that the landfill property has already affected the lives of neighbors; linked to environmental cancers to horses, people and pets, caused fish kills and methane gas releases up to the early 2000's how could anyone allow 205 new homes be placed on and near this landfill, located at 7200 Proctor Road not even knowing the location of the already measured toxins, trash and carcinogens, that previous testing has uncovered. If one reviews the records, tests for the aforementioned toxins were not placed in the public record or considered by FDEP at all, despite constant notifications. I believe results of tests were not properly reported or recorded, and beneficial testing was purposely not done. This would explain why no one will respond to these allegations and queries I have been submitting to FDEP and Sarasota County for 2 over years.
In accordance Fed Statute# 62-780.600 Site Assessment, the previously located and any underground toxic plumes must be located and tracked both horizontally and vertically. The toxins found below were not tested for by Lomski testing. Lomski testing concluded that there were “pockets of environmentally sensitive debris throughout the site”. The below mentioned toxins are not currently located or tested for in the locations they would be expected to be found, as required by law. This omission begs the request of such tests, prior to any digging, piping, or excavating, as part of the monitoring of the plumes migration. 62-780.600(3), 62.760, 62.777, 62.767
