My friends and I spent 10 days making sure new light bulbs were installed, everything was cleaned, leaves and landscaping raked, etc. McKenna property sent me a bill for over $13,000!!!! They kept my security deposit if $2100 and are demanding payment of the balance within 30 days.
Among other false charges they are billing me for not vacating on April 30 and charged me 3 extra days. (I vacated April 30 and left a message stating this in reply to mckennas call) they are billing me for new flooring over 2 grand. It’s wood tile. If there were scratches, the specific tile could be replaced.
They told me to clean things on a list which I did and now they are billing me hundreds for “cleaning fee”, over $2700 for painting, and, get this, I paid for 1.5 tons of red rock to cover the front lawn since the existing rocks were so thin, plastic sheeting was visible underneath. I bought borders to hold the rocks in since there were no existing borders and rocks were all over the sidewalk.
They are trying to charge me to remove the borders and also charging me for landscaping. Painting and carpeting is normal wear and tear after living here for 4 years with three kids and a cat! I expected to recarpet the downstairs closet since I removed carpeting due to pet damage (they already took my pet deposit) but all other charges are false and exorbitant.
I have 5 witnesses who helped me clean up as well as receipts showing my purchase of light bulbs and other things to clean and repair items in the house. They cancelled my dishwasher maintenance request a month before I moved out then charged me for the repair. They're charging me for major repairs when I already reported the plumbing problems on the day I began living at the rental house. They even charged me for AC filters and I installed brand new ones on the day I moved out! Las Vegas Nevada
