I received a bill in the mail from MCI claiming I owe $377.46. I am not with MCI nor have I ever been with that company. There were charges on the bill to locations I never call. What is disconcerting is that there are two numbers on the bill that I call regularly, so someone is stealing phone records. The charges were made between November and January but the "bill" showed up at the beginning of February. So that makes no sense.
Also, the bill was clearly fake. The bill has no information on how to pay, late fees, and all the standard information on the back like a legitimate phone company bill. There is a note on the bill claiming the charges will not show up on any other phone bill. Well duh, because it's fake and fraudulent. There is no website, email or contact information other than a number for Billing Inquiries. If you call that number, a message asks for your name and number and does not answer with "MCI." It is clearly fake and fraudulent.
This is incredibly obnoxious and I hope these criminals get caught.
This entity sent us an invoice stating we owed them a total $10.94 for directory dialed operator assisted calls from our home phone number to a 3rd party in Nacogdochs, TX, both calls were supposedly directory assisted.
The invoice states the following calls were completed using MCI's Network. The supposed MCI a Verizon Company had stated on the invoice, "The charges for these calls will not be on any other telephone company's invoice. Please pay upon receipt to MCI. Thank you.", and "Billing inquiries call 1-800-226-0014 between the hours Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm eastern time." The weird part is they used our deceased father's name on their invoice and to top that off we have a long distance block through our telephone provider.
I had fraud on my bill they finally gave me the 33.23 cent credit for it after long upsetting comversations. they let me know they from the phillipians. I did not know this. They charged international calls for the fraud and they admitted it. They gave me this number to get the blocker off my phone they said i had to get my local calling long distance blocked if i got international calling blocked. The number they gave me was virzon for block information they said there was no such thing as mci any more i told her i am paying my bill to mci.
The company which i didnt know was international but they said they dont charge for this cause they are my mci company. this has wet on Monday and now Wednesday and still ongoing. now they are saying its my phones not them so we went to the box outside to check phone i could hear plainly local but not long distance.they sent a att worker out and worked on the box outside he claimed it was now working. Its doing the same thing. the worker gave me the wrong number for him if i had more trouble. his name was Daniel . they said i could now pay 46.03 for my fraud bill. i am very upset about this please check into so noone else will go through this.
I see some of the reports here about MCI, and I thought they went out of business.
I had MCI Wireless service during 2000-2001. Immediately they started on the wrong foot. I was living in Albuquerque NM, I get a number in Grants NM. I get it corrected, and then I do not receive my first bill, and they cut my service off. Why? They botched the address. So I get an invoice, with penalty, and charged two months for both numbers. Both months concurrently. I get that fixed.
It continues. I get invoices in the mail 3 days before the payment is due. I look at the date of the invoice, and the date of the meter stamp. At least a two week difference. This has been sitting in the mail room for two weeks? This has been consistent. I sent a written complaint to corporate, my rate gets doubled, and my invoices are still sitting in their bloody mailroom for two weeks plus. I finally cancelled, paid the $200 dollar early termination fee, which I told them that it was my forced subsidization of their incompetence.
Later I ran into Bernie Ebbers, then CEO of MCI, at the Albuquerque airport. We struck up a conversation, and then I told him that I had figured out what MCI stood for. Maggots, clusterbleeps, and idiots. I thought I would have scared even R Lee Ermey. Well, now Bernie Ebbers is in the Federal Prison system. There may he rot. Now when is MCI going to finally do the marketplace a favor and DIE?
