False advertisement. This is far from a new car but a bucket. Grossly misrepresented service and vehicle. I went and picked up a Chevrolet Trax on Monday May 14 from Washington DC the service was fast and easy. I saw that they cleaned the vehicle there but it was still dirty and I had to go to car wash and have it vacuumed, ok fine. On Tuesday May 15 I expected to receive the insurance I did not get a LEGAL insurance until Wednesday night at 11pm.
I rented this vehicle on Monday May 14 to drive and make money not loose money and raise my blood pressure. I Got this car with the knowledge that I would be able to safely able to drive this car specifically to make money not loose money and time. I drive in all different neighborhoods all times of night; I need proper functioning lights. Thursday I discovered you can not see at night outside the car with the lights on low beam and high beam. Other cars were flashing me as if I didn’t have lights on. The high beam barely works.
At the dealership they test the lights in the daytime and my issue is I can not see outside the car whatsoever at night. Although the AC blows cold in dealership on a cold day it does not work up to a comfortable level for passengers on a hot day. Dealership said it’s fine but has it is not Cold on hot day and setting #4 the highest is way too loud like a motor boat and it is bothersome for passengers. The AC on the car does not blow cold air when it’s hot outside; on the highest setting it blows cold for 30 minutes then it is not cold.
I took the car to Chevrolet and they said that it’s probably nothing wrong with the AC and that’s just how it blows the air also they said it would be several days for them to check out the vehicle also I made an appointment at Chevrolet Bob Kelly Dundalk only to get there and find out that for their commercial side they do not have appointments available for weeks. I am basically running around town different Chevrolet dealerships all giving me different responses.
I’ve driven countless vehicles and rented vehicles from several companies I’ve had two 2017 Hyundai Elantra from Hertz and Enterprise, six 2017 Toyota Corolla from Hyrecar; I never had to deal with any issues of this nature it is completely not normal to have to expect me to pay $240.90 a week to be every day at the dealership instead of making money driving I’m driving around going to different dealerships, Firestone and AutoZone all giving me the runaround.
The company claims their vehicle will only need routine maintenance; this is a lie. A routine oil check once 5000 miles is not going to dealership everyday or being without a vehicle. I rented a car in good faith that this would be a fully functional vehicle ready to go make money. I am not expecting to spend several days without a vehicle and the car in the shop I also do not think that it’s right that I should have to drive two hour back in DC traffic to drop off the car only to possibly not have a vehicle and a way to get back home.
I went to to One AutoZone, Two Firestones and several Chevrolet dealerships trying to get the lights to work properly; you cannot see anything at night in the daytime the light shines at night you cannot see you have zero visibility. On the highbeams you have barely any visibility I’ve been getting the runaround from this issue as well from Firestone and Chevrolet does not have the part it will take several days to order the part. The people you speak with at Element (their warranty department) from driver side is not the same department the dealership calls to place orders or approve orders.
This vehicle should never of been rented out it should not be part of the fleet either this year of car this model of car should not have been rent it out I rented in good faith that I would be treated properly and the car would be safe to drive. I really need a full refund for these issues I do not like having to spend every single day dealing with several issues for a car and I do not think that anyone in their right mind would ever give you $250 preauthorization and $240.90 a week to rent a vehicle and then spend the rest of the days going to the dealership.
I filed a Better Business Beareau complaint and they lied, lied and lied. They never called or emailed to ask about the issue. They said I signed a precondition contract um no where does it state windshield wipers, AC and lights not working up to par for human brings. I want a full refund for the weeks aggravation for this car 5/14-5/30. I have literally spent almost every single day driving to different Chevrolet Dealerships, Firestone and Autozone dealing with these issues: AC, Lights, Windshield Wipers, Key Fob.
That is money not earned and My time wasted. Blood Pressure Raised for no reason. They keep charging my credit card but not providing a proper vehicle. As of 5/30 I haven’t done anything about the vehicle at Maven because I was waiting for response from Cooperate Office. I have gotten no phone call or email regarding this vehicle and I’m really insulted that they sent Better Business Beareau the number of times I’ve been to the dealership when no one from their company has called or emailed me I have been dealing with issues/run around almost every single day since I got this car on May 14 and again I was at dealership today 5/30. I have gotten no refund. Since 5/17 several times I was promised a refund.
It is 5/30/2018 I have no refund on my credit card. Their company clearly advertised New Vehicles. That is not what I got. I got a bucket. Maven claims you can "Swap” the vehicle on their AP. The AP says nothing about swapping a vehicle. In fact everytime you do anything on the AP you are charged $250.00 preauthorization. The last time I used their AP I was charged $250 three times for preauthorization . And I was charged $722.70 for the rental so far on my credit card. No one in their right mind would rent a vehicle without an AC or headlights that functions up to quality level a paying customer would expect.
