Match.com, L.L.C. Reviews

I have been a Match.com subscriber off and on for 2 yrs. for about 2 yrs. Now, after my last stint with them I realize why I kept going back for more of nothing-they use Bait and Switch tactics. I have been a paid subscriber for the last 6 months and received 6 emails or winks in that whole time. As soon as my subscription expired, I started receiving all kinds of interest-I have received more than 30 emails or winks in the last 30 days. But, of course, I am no longer a paying customer so I can't read the emails and whomever the paying customer is that is trying to communicate with me has no idea they are trying to contact someone who can't read their emails! Why is my profile still available to paying customers?? They can't get in touch with me. These are classic Bait ansd Switch tactics. Not only was I ripped-off (I wonder why I didn't receive all this interest when I was a paid subscriber) but the paying customer that is trying to reach me is being ripped-off. Stay away from these crooks. And the worst thing is-they get by with it.

An extremely high percentage of profiles are hoaxes; foreign persons, scammers posing as

local; catfishing, and solicitation. Next, an extremely low percentage of members are paying

subscribers. Free members, cannot reply to, or read site provided emails. That's the bait to

get their money. There isn't a way to ascertain free member from paid subscriber. There are

other issues, including stealth reoccurring billing. If Match.com would like to dispute the

above, in court, bring your Full US site traffic analytics. (Wink for Free)

Romance scam began on match.com userid textme Daniela Brooke alias used pics of 'Sweet Krissy' Madison, a gorgeous Caucasian Canadian female porn star. Orig ph# switched to and had me get off match and use text msgs instead. I did a face search and found that her name did not match her photos. Confronted her with this and she claimed to be Krissy Madison. I should be so lucky! Actually, Krissy should be so lucky as to land me!!! I was scammed out of $5,700; 500 to 1000 at a time sent to either Edward Lucas 'her' 'neighbor' in Florida or 'her' 'coworker' Lara Paul in Lagos City, Nigeria for 'her' urgent needs - hungry and no money for food, clothing turning to rags, assistance needed with buying makeup kits for 'her' short contract job at a beauty contest in Nigeria. I am 1.5 yrs divorced from a 30 yr marriage and was lonely and vulnerable and I am kind hearted and naive that there could be subhuman filth low enough to do this. Sadly, I did not win the mega lottery, it was not Krissy that was texting me but a group of d******* creep Nigerian men!! They are devoid of honor and have no principles. They will talk to u around the clock, switching off from one man to another, creepy!! I messed with their heads pretty good afterwards as payback as I am one tough cowboy. Guarantee u that they go in groups to rake a p***. I want an apology and a refund of my money or them in Kirikiri prison for 20 years each, which is the Nigerian penalty for what they did. Kirikiri is the worst prison in the world. Match.com has shut off 'her' userid but these d******* creeps will just set up a new account with different pics of Krissy and a new bogus name. Send no money to Nigeria!!! Send no money to anyone unless u know them well!!

Within the first 3 weeks of membership on Match.com (an online dating service) I was locked out of my account. It wasn't until I received notification in an email from Match that 'the changes made to my account had gone through successfully' with a new email address attached that I realized someone had hacked my account . The same day I received an email from Match.com I also received one from Facebook advising me someone tried to change my password- UGGGGGGG!!! On a whim I decided to try to access my Match account with the 'new' email address using my original password - and up popped my profile. Apparently the hacker sent 30 emails out to other members trying to get their information-some successful- and to people that are still married but separated- which is against my faith to pursue a 'separated' status.

I immediately contacted Match security- in an email- as there is no way to contact their security by phone. I had to cancel all of my credit cards and change all of my passwords. I cancelled my subscription and deactivated my account. Then I called customer service who after telling them I was compromised casually told me they found the hacker , reactivated my account and asked me what they could help me with.

I told them that I felt if it was that easy to access someones information I didn't feel comfortable using their site and asked for a refund. The Match representative told me they wont give a refund. When I asked for a supervisor he wouldnt put me through- he told me the supervisor will only tell me the same thing. I then said now i feel even more uncomfortable than before in using a site where with the severity of the situation they werent even going to let me speak to a supervisor.

Needless to say - I still have not been able to get anywhere with this and am very disturbed and disgusted with this company.

I encourage everyone interested in using this site- DO NOT-WARNING-DO NOT -and for those who have -cancel all credit cards you have used on this immediately..and guard all of your personal information!

Match.com uses their dating website to commit fraud against users who are finished with the site and are not allowed to cancel their subscription. They say on the site that you can cancel your subscription anytime you like but if you dont you will automatically renewed. If the software simply sends you around in an endless loop when you try to cancel, its a licence for them to print money. It is also internet fraud.

I have on a least a dozen occasions attempted to cancel my subscription, and when i do so they ask me for my password. They say the password is incorrect, so I ask for new password and they send me an email to create a new password and they simply dont allow me to click on the button that says 'reset". the screen greys out and it simply doesnt work.

I tried to send them an email complaining about this but they simply send you a list on answers that dont solve the proiblem and send you back to the 'cancel subscription" page again and the process starts all over and it goes around in circles everytime.

I met a wonderful person on this site so i dont need it anymore, but unfortunately their reputation is smeared by these unethical and fraudulent practices. Dont believe it when Match.com says you can cancel anytime because they are lying. It is scary that we cant stop these internet frauds.

I started using Match.com in June of 2015. One month into the process; after 5 men in a row tried to rip me off with the same story from the middle east area I believe...I cancelled my subscription. I called Match.com and they refused to refund me. They said cancelling just makes sure that I won't be automatically renewed, which I did not believie either.

Next I turned Match.com into the BBB. They sent my lengthy report to the company down south I think in TX. No response was ever received. I was told this is normal for them and there is not much else I can do. The report is filed for others to see.

These people are a menace to society! This company is not up to snuff and should refund if we call i less than a month stating the harassemnt being received daily. I turned in every one of the men. I gave up.

I guess I'll have to change banks. Funny but the cancelation confermation was lost when my gmail account was wiped clean. Funny how that happened and with in 15 days smack .con had billed my account for another 3 months

On September 12, 2015 I subscribed to a trial period on Match.com including a $39.99 service called ProfilePro advertised as an assistant to create a unique profile.

I almost immediately received several suspicious emaiis all with usernames like _TextMe5155551212.

I cancelled my membership within a few hours of establishing it and was not billed for the serevice itself. I received an email from ProfilePro asking me to complete a questionnaire to assist them. I ignored this email.

My account was then billed for $39.99. Match.com informed me the charge was non-refundable despite cancelling during the trial period and receiving no service in exchange for my $39.99

I met Jay James on Match.com about a week ago he was so loving and caring. Something I have needed since my divorce. We were chatting on my cell and he asked me if I could send him a care package, it was a specific list of Axe Body Sprays, Axe Shower Gels, packs of t-shirts, packs of boxers, packs of socks, packet cookies, packet candies, blanket, towel, a holy bible, 2 soccer ball, 2 basketballs. Now I copied exactly what he wrote. 1st red flag would to me being a civilian my whole life is packet cookies. 2nd red flag is why a bible he isn't an extremely religious man. When I confronted him about being a scammer he said "After all when you said you can't get the things did I say anymore? I just Ok don't worry. Do scammers talk like this?? Need I go on.

When I told him I wasn't stupid and not born yesterday. He said What's or who's the source of your research? Well I'm not stupid iether and I wasn't born yesterday.

So you have no point with what your trying to say.. Your not here with me so I wouldnt allow you talk to me anyhow just because of a care package You suit yourself babe bye..

"You can marry you researches." He said. I replied "You said good time and bad." He told me "I'm Soldier. I've seen a lot. And I don't like being accused of The lil thing upsets us. I replied If you really, truly love me unconditionally then you would understand what I am going through right now but if not then I don't know what to tell you. He continues "I understand you but look at the way you were talking to me..That you aren't stupid and weren't born yesterday who is stupid and who was born yesterday Hun?

I know he is a scammer and very good at what he does. I have stopped all communication with him and wanted you to know this. If you want anything else from me just let me know.

Match.com Review: Deceptive Billing Practices

This is match.com's review for their billing practices and online dating services. Match.com offers online or internet dating services nationwide. As for the quality of their service, their matching technology is not worth the money. Although they are popular, their technology does a poor job of matching qualified canidates. I was amazed how poor some of the suggestions were.

I was unaware of an auto renewal.

There is no opt of auto renewal for match.com other than to cancel which is entirely misleading. Furthermore, If your using their app, your never technically signed out. Their customer Sevice is a disgrace. I've never received such an unprofessional and

Unauthorized Charges

I contacted match.com's billing department after learning about an auto renewal.

We exchanged several emails.

Not only does this company not notify a charge went thru, they hide these terms. Furthermore, it's entirely unclear during signup.

If there is an opt out button, I never saw one.

How Match.com Operate and Work Against You

Match.com is Not Forthcoming On How They Work. You will be opted into an auto renewal. They want your money and will not ne forthcoming about charges to your account.

They do not clearly disclose this where it is visible.

Here Is What I Recommend:

Make Sure It's Major Credit Card (easier to dispute)

Mark Your Calendar for the Cutoff Date

Make Sure to Confirm Cancellation

Don't Expect An Email About The Renewal

Match fraudulenty charged my credit card. It claims I consented to the auto renewal, although I specifically only signed up for one month!

I have used match.com and other dating sites before but never seen so many scammers and fake profiles as I have as of late. Women beware! Look for these signs:

He is in his early 40's or 50's but says he is a widower. Not to say that men that age can't be widowers but if they say they are a widower, have no family ("parents are dead" and they have no siblings), only post one photo and their profile is super schmaltzy (they talk about how much they need and desire someone in their life and they like to "snuggle," they could be scammers.

I have noticed a lot of fakers say they live in your hometown but oddly, their area code is "917," which is a NY/Manhattan area code.

If they have only one photo, that is another red flag. I just had a guy "wink" at me and immediately recognized his picture. It was Taylor Hicks from "American Idol."

Be cautious and if it seems odd, there is a reason! Trust yout gut!

In had a 3 month subscription, as it was nearing it's end I was contacted by match.com to take an additional 3 months for the price of one. And if I did not do so by the end of my subscription, then it would automaticly cancel.I thought that was all there was to it.

Then I seen a charge of almost $75.00 on mjy card. I first sent a email letter, due to the fact they are closed on weekends, and then called on Tuesday, and was met with a wall of robot like responses from the front line people who were reciting the same line of bs. And that they will not issue a refund at all and that no superiors would take my call.

I told them I felt like they had basicly extorted/stole money from me, and asked how I was supposed to use their site for the additional 3 months when they conducted business like that. They kept on with the same scripted responses. Even after I called more than once and spoke with multiple people, none of whom were top level managers, they still had the same disconcerning tone and scripted answers. And they all refused to pass me along to someone in a higher pay grade.

They are crooks with no remorse, and no moral compass.

To all of those who have been taken advantage of by this site. We should file a class action lawsuit against this company. I'm sure that Match has covered themselves legally, but somebody needs to hold this business accountable. I was a member and by signing up you are basically waiving your rights to refute and or be refunded. I had my account set up for all notifications available. None of which are a notification that your subscription is about to renew for the full price and term that you originally sign up for. Once it renews, if you the consumer aren't aware and use any subscription services. You will not be refunded, no matter who you speak to in the company. Not only that but the higher you go, the more rude and defiant the employees become. This company is set up only to take your money. I could not be more unsatisfied with company or service. Absolute scam/rip off, whatever you would like to call it. Hope people read this reports before having to deal with this company.

Save your $$$, I sent out over 400 E-mails & I only got 14 replys, in 3 months! (NO, I am not an oger, or perv.) out of the 14, TEN were from 'scammers'! I reported the 'fake' profiles to match (hundreds of them! some were using the same pics.on different profiles!)There were A LOT of them in thier 'chat room' w/ same story (I'm in Nigeria/Ghana.etc.,& need $$ for my my father's buisness/funeral...etc,etc.) They (scammers) wanted to go to my yahoo IM, right away! I was lucky, I got 'kicked-off' the site for being 'foul' & 'rude' to their customers! (get that!) I'm being lied to & husseled 4 $$, & I'm being RUDE?!? Stay Away from match.com & use the free sites (NOT crag's list)

I unknowingly signed up for a six month membership at Match.com. There was no indication that once done, no refund would be issued. I immediately emailed Match.com and cancelled my subscription. It stated that unless I called and requested an immediate refund, my membership would run its course but would not be renewed.

I called during their business hours and requested the immediate refund. I was told that was not their policy and talking with a manager would not make a difference.

I did file a complaint with PayPal and it is pending for more information from Match.com.

  • Aug 6, 2015

I categorized my rip-off by Match.com as a bait and switch because that's exactly what happened.

They show you three prices...one for 6 months...one for 3 months...and one for a month.

The prices were low enough... 20.00 something. That's the price I clicked on. I'd spend 20.00$ to try out a dating site.

I'm disabled and I can't get out much. What the heck, right?

I've got two small children and that doesn't help either.

So I clicked...signed in to Paypal...put in my info...and BAM! Was charged 239.88!!!!

No review screen... like normal...no chance to say...wait a minute that's not right... just went through.

(Maybe Paypal and Match.com have a deal going...I thought I could trust Paypal)

I immediately file a dispute with Paypal and it's "under investigation"...

I then (within 20 minutes of being over-charged) go to Match.com and cancel my subscription. I send them an email saying that I don't want their services for that price...

I get a message from Paypal saying my claim was denied...and the next day Match.com debits my account....

I filed a complaint with the BBB... I'm going to go through the resolution process with Paypal.

I found this site AFTER all this mess.

There's over 300 complaints on here about Match.com...WHY isn't anyone doing anything to put a stop to this???

I'm on disability and I have two children to take care of...Match.com took my grocery money for the month...

This isn't right.....

Hells yeah I would talk to the press...I'd love to tell the whole world about this....

My sister recommended Match.com because it's just a well known internet name....like Facebook...or Amazon. I want everyone to know what Match.com really is about...

I knew you need to keep yourself safe from potential predators on dating sites...I never thought the site itself would be the real predator!
