I scheduled carpet cleaning with a Valpak coupon for $39 whole house carpet cleaning. It included "free deodorizing and dryer vent inspection" both of which were not even offered to the site visit. When the tech arrived, I showed 8 quarter sized spots and was told I would be charged $35/room or in this case, a total of $105 plus $39. When I hesitated, the tech said he would not clean my carpet for the $39 as "it wasn't worth it" I gave in to paying an additional $35 only because I had moved alot of items in prep for the cleaning. All I can say is; Buyer Beware.
My husband called 804-852-8030 on 8/23/17 and scheduled an appointment for 8/25 between 10:00am-12:00 pm. On the morning of I received a call from 757-355-3805 a gentleman confirming he would arrive at 10:00 am. Upon his arrival at 10;05am he asked to look at the areas that will be cleaned. I showed this gentlemen the rooms and upholstery that needed to be cleaned. He asked where is your coupon, I cannot start without you signing the agreement and furnishing your coupon. I explained my husband didn't leave a coupon and he received a quote over the phone for 150.00. The representative implied continuously that I needed a coupon. I then proceeded to contact my husband but there was no answer because he is at work.
I asked the tech/representative to give me a quote without the coupon. He quoted 320.00! I had asked the representative to give me a breakdown of the charges ala carte so I could understand why the pricing was now doubled? He thought I was home alone and he quickly became very loud and rude.
He refused to give me a valid reason why the charges were now doubled. I explained I am becoming very upset and you are yelling at me in my home. I walked away and called for my son. The representative immediately left. I returned to the front door & I asked, are you leaving? He said, yes and good luck!
I was fearful and shaken that a man over 6 feet tall would come into my home and try to scam me from a company I thought was reputable. He was very irritated that I would not allow him to puff up charges and agree to pay for it.
I then called the office 804-852-8030 to find out why would my husband had received a quote for such a low amount? The young lady explained if the technician/representative assessed the condition of carpet/ upholstery and feel chemical treatment is needed that can bring charges up and the over the phone quotes are only for steam cleaning.
I asked why he didn't explain that the 150.00 pricing was based on steam cleaning only? She could not answer that question. She reiterated several times that there will be additional charges for chemical treatment and it is displayed on the coupon. I explained our pricing was quoted without a coupon. She seemed very unapologetic for the unprofessional behavior of the technician. I asked was the technician a family member? And she replied yes. I explained I will search for a better company and I discontinued my call.
