Filing report for my 81 year old, disabled, widowed mother in law.
Scott Philo convinced my mother in law to purchase a massage chair to help with her mobility problems. He stated the only form of payment accepted was personal check, so she has no recourse from a credit card company.
Price of the chair included a $200.00 charge for "White Glove" delivery and set up. When the chair arrived by freight truck, there was only one driver who stated he would not bring the chair in to the house or set it up. Drop off on the sidewalk was the only action available. My 81 year old mother in law believed her only option was to refuse delivery of the chair on to the sidewalk in front of her house.
Multiple phone calls to Mr. Philo requesting a refund, less the invoice shipping charge of $199.99, have been refused. Mr. Philo states that his contract will be enforced, the chair must be accepted, or storage fees and other costs will accrue that exceed the total invoice price of $4399.98. Mr. Philo states that legal action may be taken against my mother in law if the chair is not accepted and the matter closed.
In other words, he is keeping the chair and the money unless the chair is dropped off. This is abuse against a vulnerable senior citizen living alone.
Again, we publically request Massage Chairs For Less to provide a refund of $4199.99 for the botched delivery. We will not accept any product delivery now due to the confrontational nature of the previous discussions with this company.
We purchased a chair that was NEVER delivered even though we paid $200.00 additional for a White Glove delivery that NEVER happened. We were told on the phone from Mr. Scott Philo at Massage Chairs for Less we would see our chair in 2-4 weeks! After we paid $4099.99 dollars, and received the invoice, it stated 4-5 weeks.
We never heard from the seller with updates on the delivery for 8 weeks, until we cancelled. Then Mr. Philo informed us that his policy protected him on any and ALL issues that may arise???
His refund/cancellation policy is buried so far in his website--the average person could never find (we have copies of ALL his web pages in the event he changed them)
We allowed him 5 business days to make things right (we have documentation of our notices via email if needed). He threatened us with liable and slander and refused a simple solution.
His website: massagechairsforless.com offers a 7 day in home trial!! It does not say anywhere that he gets to keep 20 % of your money for non- performance or delivery. This chair was NEVER delivered after 8+ weeks, and now he lied to us and re-sold the chair at full price to someone else.
This was not a custom order, only a plug and play chair. We gave him every opportunity to make things right, but he refused!

I bought his top of the line massage chair and it broke after only 6 months. He put me off long enough for the one year warranty to expire and the chair is going in the dumpster.
Beware his promises and warranty. If you want to waste or gamble that the chair will last and have $3,000. to throw away; feel free to buy one. Scott Philo is a scammer and rip off.
Scott Phillo mislead me about massage chairs that he sells, I told him that I need to get back to him after I do my research about this massage chair that he say that cures scoliosis . The whole thing that he was telling me seem to be unbelievable and I was concerned about it and went to do my research . I newer ok to charge my card. Scott disappeared!!!i I emailed him request to put money back to my card , no unswer of aires. will be reporting him to Attorney General , file police report and file law suit against him. So far I am out $1.500 and no chair is being send , nothing just charges for $1.500 . This is crime!!! And police would trace him down !
