I was approach them today

Hello,

Jody sent me a DM through Instagram saying that her friend gave her a link to my StarNow profile. She asked me to sent her my headshots and says she will get back to me shortly.

First, I have checked their Instagram and even though they have over 8k followers, each post has approximately 8-10 likes. It doesn’t look right. So I have search a net and found lots of information about the scam.

Thank you for your posts.

I wonder now what will be Jody offer now...

I was approached by Jody Louise by Facebook Messenger saying that she is a model scout and she had a shoot near me this weekend. She threwed a famous name of cosmetic company to my face to make me flatter and dream about the perfect photoshoot. She sent the website address to me and website looks really good with her name in the contacts and legitimate email adress with the correct domain name and etc. They have instagramm and twitter and all that

On my request to skype she sent driver license ID, what made me feel at ease at first. Then she said that terms of the agreement is to pay 500 USD upfont for accomadation and the costumes, because they're tailored. What made some sense at first as well. Then she even sent a contract, that also made quite well, except the detail that there were no credit details of the company itself. She was insisted to ask to find any friends, who live in NYC, that could drop the money off to the office

Then when I said that I can't find any friends she reluctanly sent the details of the money transfer in Nigeria( where according to the story she was currently located for the shoot), and when I asked to send the ID of the person she sent some IDs such as voter's card or instituition card. When I asked for a real ID- she disapeared

These people are very well equipped with psychology of a human being, they will talk you up to comfort you, saying such thing as :" I understand your fear", "It's safe". They're very well spoken and on the surfcaae it looks all good, but if you get targetted in the same way - take your time and think about it , speak with someone else and you'll quickly find tips and evidences that it's fraud.

I found another victim of such target on thi website

Please be aware and of possible help to spread the information about this scammer

Happen to me

I live in Australia and she found me on Instagram. With the promise of a photo shoot and TVC in NZ, I paid them close to maybe 1500 which I don't know if I'll get back and the stress caused me to have a epilepsy fit. I want the funds back and these ass holes too pay. What's worst is I signed a contract and theu broke it

I have a new one for you

I got asked to be a fresh face for a new brut commercial and that i needed to pay $250 for accommodation etc and it would be reimbursed to me at shoot site.

Lucky i always check reviews of any place before doing anything and low and behold its a scam.

What a shitty thing to do

Jacqueline Caraballo posted in a Facebook modeling group that she was looking for a face model for a paid photo shoot. I messaged her and she stated that she is a model scout and talent manager.

Jacqueline's messages were unprofessional with poor grammar. Her tone turned ugly when I questioned having to pay a $500 fee upfront for the job.

Her message to me was: "I'm looking for models between 18 to 50 of age for l'oreal shoot. Shoot entails:makeup session and hairstyling." She also asked: "Do you have any agent representing?"

I sent modeling photos of myself and my daughter. Jacqueline messaged me: "I just received email from L'oreal that I should ask your daughter if she can travel to Austin because one of there best photographer is there she will be available for the same date all this is because she had the look they want for there advert."

I said my daughter would be available and asked what the pay for the shoot was.

She replied: "Shoot for L’oreal

Shoot theme: Bold and beautiful

Shoot type: print

Shoot budget:$1100

Shoot entails: make up session and hair styling shoot pay is $1100 She get paid immediately after the shoot She would be reimbursed at the shoot site." "Fee is $5 $500 The $500 is for accommodation and costumes and feeding That would be returned to you at the shoot site That is the meaning of reimbursed" I replied to the message asking Jacqueline if she was asking for us to pay her $500 before the shoot. She responded: "I got you one of the biggest shoot in the industry. Your daughters face would be on there web site and I also work with marvle models and your daughters face would also be on there web site http://www.marvlemodels.com/ marvlemodels.com The $500 is for accommodation, costume and feeding And you would be reimbursed at the shoot site. Thanks for wasting my time"

Marvle Models Scam in Sydney

Just the same thing happened to me this morning. I was approached by Maya who works as talent scout for Marvle models apparently. She got my instagram from a colleague who saw my profile on starsnow and wanted me to model for them in Newcastle NSW. The salary would be $900 paid on site but I would have to pay upfront $400 for accommodation and costume. Theme was bold & beautiful and was a shoot for Mary Kay. I and a friend did some research and found this website. What a scam, thank you so much. Stay away from them.

Exactly same storyline fed to me!

Exactly the same story here with me... a few days ago ‘Maya’ sent me a message via Instagram, said a colleague sent my profile to her, and that she is looking for a fresh face for Mary Kay....

I haven’t gotten as far as what she’s offering but I know what’s coming now.

Some flags I picked up:

1. Saying they are a talent scout and that’s it in the initial message but no other details

2. Asking me to sent my headshots when they would already have access to them from viewing my profile

3. After a day without a reply they would type me a one liner

4. Website displays no real commercial work with brands and Instagram likes etc don’t match their paid following

  • Jan 14, 2020

Fraudsters!!!

I've just been offered this exact same job only Mary Kay. The first thing I noticed is that 'Maya' cannot spell and her messages are very unprofessional. The website actually says to email admin to ensure legitimacy. Low and behold 'mail administrator error'...

Scam

They contacted my mum asking if she'd travel to Swansea for a shoot, they wanted £300 from her for accommodation etc and told her they'd pay her£900 for the shoot. They asked for my mum's driving license which she sent bit when I'd gone through it all I realised it was a scam.

The bastards shouldn't be allowed to get away with this!!!!

Bold and beautiful

Approached by a woman on Instagram about a L'ORÉAL shoot, themed bold and beautiful.

I was asked for a £500 upfront payment, and when I declined due to not being able to conjour up this money, the woman began to pressure me and tell me about the contract, without actually sending me the contract.

Marvle model agency is scamming people in australia on website star now. Requesting $250 initial payment and requesting internet banking codes to finalise payment. Luckily using my credit card i can dispute transaction to ensure these scammers dont get the money.

Scammers contacts are supposedly michael dino and maya jakubowicz

Brut Cologne

I to had this happen to me via Instagram, Maya advises that she was a scout and wanted to know if I was free between 20-22nd December for a shoot £900 for the whole work, she asked me to send pictures etc. And advised that there main model had sustained an injury so they needed a new main model for the shoot. Which is bizarre considering I have no experience, she also asked if I was free lance, I advised I have no experience. She asked for photo if and sent hers first, it looked legit, how ever now I think they are getting pictures of people’s identification to send to there next victims, luckily As it was on Instagram I was able to I send it a couple mins later, hopefully not enough time for them to screen shot it. I would have to pay the £420 upfront for costume and accommodation and I would get re-imburst upon arrival, alarm bells were ringing, so I sent this website to them and advised that I believe this was a scam, the response I got was “?” And nothing else.

What horrible people, so glad I found this website in time.

They also gave me a legit NYC contact number, every thing on there website looks so legit it’s unbelievable.

I hope they don’t re-use my pics in there sick perverted game. However due to GDPR hopefully something can be done in future.

Marvle Models!!! Lier!

Maya, of Marvle Models, tried to approach me to invite me to shoot in Swansea, 900 salaries, and 400 for accommodation, totally the same lies!

I asked for more proof of their company, Maya just showed nothing but her photo with her passport, and asked me to check their office someday, and she was so ridiculous that saying 'i am not the bad person'... HAHAHa so funny, how dare she saying that????

And I still suspect her, and she just said 'It is okay if you cannot shoot, i have another option', then just asked me to void the contract through email.

I hope more girls will see this! Not get in trouble!!1

Suspicious scouting.

They Contacted me just then through Instagram claiming a friend had sent them my starnow profile. Firstly.... why are they not using that site to contact me? that was the first red flag. So i went looking for info on their agency..... and found mountains of negative and suspect information about them. Not that i was going to give them anything or go anywhere with them.... i'm poor and i'm very suspicious of just about everything. Always do your research first folks. It will save our bacon. Thanks all for sharing your experience with them.

SCAM

I was almost scammed by these guys too. Luckily they only got the front part of my drivers licence before I researched & found this forum - as a lady called Maya is now running the same scam as all the ones mentioned above! Let this be a lesson to everyone that it’s easy to be sold a dream & to be swept away - but endeavour to be super cautious, esp when something sounds too good to be true...

SCAM

I was contacted for a L’Oreal shoot by this Jody who found me on Starnow. The theme of the shooting was “ Bold and Beautiful”. I would’ve had to pay 300£ for costumes and accommodation. The site and the emails all looked legit but the insta page had fake followers and the unprofessional approach of Jody who claims to be a talent scout just didn’t look right. Luckily I found all these bad reviews with a similar background as mine and avoided a big SCAM. Thank you for your reviews!
