Back in June I rented a beach cottage from mv vacation rentals . I paid $4750 plus a $1000 security deposit. The place looked really nice on the website but it turned out to be a real nightmare. My family and I were very excited to go to Martha's Vineyard for our summer vacation but when we arrived at our cottage known as lorua we were so very unhappy. I spent over $10000 on this trip only to find beds that were at least 20 years old not to mention the cottage was filled with ants and roaches. We didn't get a good night sleep the entire week.
The second night we were there if was very humid so I put on the air conditioner and when we woke up the next morning the downstairs was completely flooded. We called Wendy wheeler the agent along with the property owner Mrs. Lorusso. Ms wheeler explained that the whole island is infested with roaches and ants and we would just have to deal with it And as far as the air conditioning went she said we were lucky to have ac because most places on the island don't. It was such a miserable stay that my family and I left the island 2 days early and stayed at the red roof inn for $100 bucks a night.
The beds were much more comfortable there. What a joke! Now it has been 40 days since we left and we still have not received our $1000 deposit back. My wife has contacted ms wheeler several times and she tells her each Time that it it going out today. Guess what still the deposit has not been returned. It was bad enough that our family vacation was ruined by mv vacations but now they won't even return my deposit. What ever you do don't use mv vacation rentals and stay away from Wendy wheeler she is full of it. Stay far away from Lorua located in aquinnah. If you do stay there bring your own beds and plenty of bug spray.
