Hired this person to rehab home after he showed pictures of previous work done. We made a contract for him to do interior/ exterior of house. The work he did was not only sloppy and was no where close passing inspection, it was dangerous. All the work this man did had to be redone.
- The roof he installed leaked badly -the siding -the windows were installed without weather stripping or headers, not level, and they broke one, -the front patio was so shabby it wobbled, there were large gaps between floor boards, did not pass inspection -they made an addition to a pier and beram house and used 4x4 WOOD blocks to sit the house on instead of cinder blocks like the rest of the house.
-the left large gaps in the roof addtions where water poured in -left a load bearing wall unsupported and sat the addition on it. I asked them to support that as it was a safety issue. that was ignored. -left an electrical wire uncapped in between siding and insulation. -Gave him a separate check for 5k$ that stated it was for the architect and permits and he only gave 2k to the architect, didnt' pay any permits and kept the rest of the money. -He couldn't account for 10$. He admitted using it for personal use.
The list goes on, its long. We brought someone In to tell him what he needed to repair because it was obvious he didnt' know. He said he didn't have money to fix it. We verbally agreed that we would pay to fix the exterior if he paid at least half in free labor for the interior in non structural stuff. He agreed and was supposed to send me a list. We waited and waited, our house getting soaked by rain, and nothing.

We had been telling him everything that was wrong since beginning of may. It was already a week into june and we realized he wasn't going to do anything. We decided to save our house and just pay someone else to fix everything that needed fixing. 30k$.
