The following report is presented from information obtained through employees and patients of Mark taheri at May Dental.
Mark Taheri performs illegal and dangerous oral sedation procedures. Mark Taheri sedates patients of all ages with a combination of Norco, Halcion (Triazalom) and 800mg Ibuprofen. The amount of pills dispensed to the patient is no concern of his. He routinely sends his assistants in to check if a patient is still breathing, as he administers medication. In one case he had a 6-year-old female patient take two Norcos, one Halcion, and an 800mg Ibuprofen. A combination and dose this large could prove lethal for a small child.
Mark Taheri obtains these medications through illegal practices. He writes prescriptions to his family and friends, then uses these medications and dispenses them to patients. In the event he does not have a friend or family member willing to obtain prescriptions for him, he will write one out to the patient and have them bring in the medication on the day of their procedure. He often keeps the medication and never returns it to the patient. Within his office there are multiple pill bottles with different names that he pulls from.
Mark Taheri illegally bills patients and their insurance for procedures that were never preformed. He will take the time to examine patients insurance, and decide what procedures he can bill for that will make him more money. An example is routinely billing for higher priced cleanings, when all he performed was a basic level cleaning. Employees of his state that they were commonly asked to enter billing information for procedures patients never had. He has been reported to the dental board many times for this.
He is currently under investigation by the Dental Board of CA. I would advise anyone considering Mark Taheri or May Dental to seek services elsewhere.
