In January 2005, I had four teeth restored in right lower quadrant at a cost of $1907. On the initial visit this dentist informed me I had TMJ and that it should be looked into. However, during the next visit (a 2 1/2 hr procedure, I was never given a break or even asked if I needed to rest my jaw) until I had an extremely severe cramp across my face and she had to stop and the joint be massaged. Also, at the end of this procedure, this dentist informed me that she had "made a decision" to do a "direct pulp cap" on one tooth and that it might or might not work. She said nothing during the procedure and never asked what I preferred, nor did she advise of the consequences.
Immediately after septocaine wore off I felt pain which dentist referred to as "sensitivity" that would go away in a couple of weeks. Two weeks later I had to return to have decay repaired that had been overlooked in these teeth. Pain that was referred to as sensitivity was still there. Room temperature water was unbearable and I was never able to chew on that side.
Five weeks later, pain was unbearable. Made an emergency visit and it was determined that one of the restored teeth (#32) had to be removed and I was charged $1378 for an extraction that she had restored 7 weeks earlier. As she claims to practice natural dentistry, when my spouse asked for pain medication she said, "it is imperative that I have a bowel movement at the end of that day" and that was it. Pain still persisted.
One week later, sought new dentist and found I had to have a root canal (#31) another tooth in the right lower quadrant that this dentist had restored. Also, there was infection in the extraction site of (#32). Pain still persisted.
One week after that the last 2 teeth had to be extracted by an oral surgeon.
$1907 for restoration $142 emergency visit $1378 for #32 extraction. $1600 root canal/crown. $540 for extraction of #28 and #30. $1300 antibiotics, steriods, and pain medications.
