ManTransLLC ripped my son out of $2000. They accepted his old transmission and shipped a defective "rebuilt" transmission and kept his hard earned money. Gave many excuses but nothing to take to the bank. Biggest crook outfit I have ever known. I don't care what kind of positive reviews they buy and put on their website, it's a disappointment to do any business with a company that takes advantage of people needing a transmission.
On December 09 2015 we ordered a transmission from Man Trans of Florida. We were promissed quick shipment in 2 to 3 days. When we never received the transmission we called to find out they never shipped it so we cancelled our order and were promissed a swift refund. We have talked to the accounting department, owner, etc..and have had an ongoing run around for over three months with constant promises (no less tahn six times), that we receive a refund. Now I find myself having to go to the next level filing complaints with the better business bureau and Florida Attorney Generals office for consumer affairs and eventually filing a lawsuit against this company to get my $1450 back. I have never seen such a ripoff scam like this from what should have been a reputable company. BEWARE if you pay before you have your merchandise. I will never do business with them again but I guarantee you that they have not heard the last from me.
We purchased a rebuilt 5 speed manual trans in November 2014, immediately after installation and on the first test drive it became obvious ther was an internal problem, whinning noise. Mantrans was contacted and "agreed" to warranty the unit, this never has happened. We have made mor than 1 dozen phone calls all of which eneded in a promise to warranty the unit and it never was.
I had the unit we had purchased from Mantrans removed and disassembled, 2 expeienced manual transmission rebuilders examined it (at my expense) the input shaft and main shaft were both damaged, apparently there was metal chips left from the drilling of the input shat there were not cleaned and got in the bearing between the input shaft ands main shaft. Still Mantrans would not send a unit and again we were promised they would.
We purchased another unit and installed it as the damage done to the one Mantrans had sent made it economically unfeasable to repair.
Just to qualify myself I have bee an owner of my own shop 29 years, I am a certified (ATRA and ASE) rebuilder. I am the past VP and President of the Southeastern ATRA area.
I have been lied to by Mantrans the president (this is how he idntified himself) spoke to me and promised me I would be taken care of. There is no satisfaction in revenge, I want to warn everyone I can of the unprofessional response from these folks..
They guarranteed it would only take 1 week for my transmission to fixed and sent back to me. We own a business and the transmission was out of one of the work trucks. We scheduled upcoming work around being down a truck for a week or two at most, however one week from mantrans turned into over a month of excuses, lies, being told it was on its way back just to find out they lied again. 6 or so weeks later and they FINALLY sent our transmission back. There were other options for us to repair this transmission but we went with mantrans because of their "guaranteed one week turn around". Their deceitful business practices cost us a lot of business, and in turn cost us a lot of customers who, like us, grew tired of waiting. Being that this group is also a service based business, you would think they would understand that but they lie, promise things they never plan on delivering in a time frame they never intended to stick to, but they are quick to take thousands of dollars from you,then giid kuck getting them to answer the phone or respond to you at all. We asked how they were going to make this right, because the one week turn around guarantee they gave up front actually took 6 times longer and cost us thousands of dollars. The owner of Mantrans was supposed to call to discuss the possibility of a partial refund of our money, but of course, like the many lies before, that call never happened. Terrible, shady, dishonest business practices. This company should be ashamed of themselves for purposely hurting other business owners just to earn an extra buck.
