Like other reports previously made, I found a boat on the internet that I really liked and I've contacted the email address. I was advised by a mr. Joseph comes from Chester hatch engineering that the boat was being sold through a consignment company and I would have to deal with them. I contacted mantis Auto Consignment Sales and they provided documentation about the boat and that I was to wire the money to them. Like an idiot, I'm wired a $9,500 to the company for purchase of the boat. Previous to sending the money I checked the internet and various rip off report and found no negative reports on this company. I was slightly uncomfortable but made the payment anyway. My next received a bill of sale and notice that the boat would be shipped on Friday and delivered to my residence on Monday by 3 p.m. I was next notified that the boat was delayed for delivery due to an emergency for the first stop of the delivery truck. I then received a second notice that the truck have been involved in a crash and I would be delayed again for another day. Three days later I noticed on the report that The boat was not repairable or sellable and therefore my money was to be refunded. They notice stated that I would receive payment refund in 1 to 3 business days. This is the third business day and I have not received any funds yet. I do not expect any funds but if for some reason I do receive return payment I too will contact and retract my report. At this time I find the company to be a total scam and it reported this to the FBI, Capital One bank, and Camden National Bank.

I was looking for a pontoon boat on craigslist. There were no pictures. I sent a reply back to cragslist. I got an email back from a person named Kelly Meyer who said that they were selling this pontoon boat I was interested in through Mantis Auto Consignment and Sales. The person also sent me a link to their website along with a link showing positive (fictitious) reviews of the comapny. I was stupid and was on vacation and didn't research this company like I do everything else.

To make a long story short, I wired this company $20,000 for this pontoon boat on Wedensday, June 7, 2017. I get a message on the day it's supposed to get delivered that it got delayed due to another stop they had to make, then the next day I got another message saying the vehicle transporting my boat got in an accident. They sent me an email offering the option of getting the boat the next day or having my money returned. I told them to wire me my funds back. They sent me back a generic email saying you'll receive it back in 1 to 3 business day. They just keep trying to drag you along so they can rip off as many people as they can. I've gone since June 7, 2017 with no boat and no money. There have been several other scams identical to this one. Look up AutoZirkus, AutoMonde, Vinton and DiMarco Auto Consignment and Sales. These scams are the exact same. They will add big company names to the alleged sellers email signature to try to validate themselves. They even sent me a fake drivers license and passport for the fake person that was the seller in my case.

I called the enginnering place this person alleged to work for Hatch Chester. It is a real company but this person doesn't work there. The receptionist there said they were getting many calls for this person and we should beware because it was a scam. They have their legal department investigating. Trust me this is 100% a scam. I called to check their name at the better business bureau. They said they have no record of them doing business in the state of Florida. It was the most stupid thing I've ever done. Please don't make the same mistake as me. I've filed a fraud report with my bank and asked them to freeze the account, I've contacted the FBI, Attoney General's Office, as well as my Congressman. If they send me back my $20,000 I will happily revist this message and say they made it right.

I saw a good deal shown on Craigslist for a used boat. The "lady" I contacted told me she was sselling through Mantis Auto, a consignment place. The website is very convincing, but when you start to go through the process, you discover they do not answer the phone or respond to emails. They simply want you to wire them the money for the boat prior to delivering anything. They only accept small transactions by credit card. Clearly a scam.

It's the standard Craiglist Scam..... here's my story... good deal on a trailer, emailed them and didn't hear back for a few weeks. Then contact claiming email was sent to junk file, so please provide email address & they would never call me back only emails. Contact started, he stated that he was selling it through a warehouse company called Mantis Auto consignment and Sales... they offer free shipping, 7 day return guaruntee, he also said it was housed in Tucson, AZ. All I had to do was wire transfer the $15,800 and they would ship it for free up to 1000 miles because he was a long time client. A couple of things to note: emailer actually used fairly good grammer and spelling, website looked very believable but found that there was NO information to look at other recreation vehicles on their website. After a couple of email exchanges, pressure was put on to register and buy... like I have many people interested, first one to register will get a great deal. I researched a lot and even spoke to somone on the phone. We ended up wiring the funds and now there is turned out to be a SCAM.

If you wire funds to RANTANAS CORP then you will know it is the same company. To find out this Corp has been around since March out of New York. I even had the VIN # they gave me researched to see if it was stolen & also had my insurance run a quote. I started researching scams and found this exact scam using other names, such as "Dimarco" and "Vinton"..... I am not sure but hiring a detective or an authority to help stop these people from doing it to someone else.

In SHORT, Do Not wire funds to someone you don't know. Lesson learned on our part

This company is a complete scam. Be careful because they actually have a darn good website, their grammar is on point, and they have done a little bit of work writing up some fake reviews in obscure places to help fake you into believing there have been happy customers. Believe me, there has never been a happy customer ever. Just people who lost lots of money.

My boyfriend's brother is not very computer savy, and found a listing on craigslist for a boat, and was directed to this consignment company via email with instructions to wire near to $9,000. Without thinking, he did it. I saw the pictures and the email and felt something didn't seem right.

Went to their website - and here's the deal, it's not like it is just "a red flag here and there" - there is not ONE THING that checks out! EVERYTHING doesn't check out.

I started with trying to call the business and got forever on hold. Never was able to get one person at any number to answer, not even an answering machine. Their website states that "due to high call volume they might not be reachable" and refers you to the Q&A on website.

Ok, so then I looked at their office locations listed. I called each of the headquarters LEASING AGENTS on the buildings they supposedly operate out of. NOT ONE leasing agent said their was a company of that name leasing from them.

Ok, so then I contacted the Florida Secretary of State, where they say they have a buisness license for their corporation. THEY DON'T.

So, then I looked at each of their top level people they claim work for them. These guys have impressive resumes on their website, they range from a top marketing guy for McDonalds, etc etc. Really high power executive types, right? Odd how not ONE of them has a linkedin account, and I couldn't find anything on any of them online. I researched a couple of the buisnesses that they used to work for, and they don't come up, or they have nothing written about a person of that name ever working there.

Now aside from all of that, which is so clearly proving their are a scam, I went back to the intial craiglist ad and contacted them about the boat. They want to sell it to me. My boyfriend's brother already received his order confirmation, money out of pocket, and the date and time (tomorrow at 3pm) of when the boat will arrive. And yet, they are still offering the boat for sale, and replying to inquiries, and wanted to take money.

Stay the heck away from them, and if anyone can help spread the word everywhere please DO.

Then contact claiming email was sent to junk file, so please provide email address. Contact started, she stated that she was selling it through a warehouse company called Mantis Auto consignment and Sales... they offer free shipping, 7 day return guaruntee, she also said it was housed in Sacramento. All i had to do was wire transfer the $8500 and they would ship it. Too many red flags during the entire process, there was no way I was going to wire money without a product in hand. A couple of things to note: emailer actually used fairly good grammer and spelling, website looked very believable. After a couple of email exchanges, pressure was put on to register and buy... like I have many people interested, first one to register will get a great boat, I'm in the medical field, email address was a .school and so-on. I started researching scams and found this exact scam using other names, such as "Dimarco" and "Vinton"..... I'm writing this because reading others it looks like some folks lost a lot of money... beware... btw, I did not wire any money, zero loss... I did enjoy emailing them back though.. be careful out there..
