I usually dont even bother writing reviews, but I feel I was treated with disrespect by Toan Tran at Mangrove Bay Dentistry.
I went in to Mangrove Bay Dentistry located at 13998 W Hillsborough Ave for a visit. I didnt have any issues and it was just a check up. When they were poking around they jabbed my gums really hard and caused severe sharp pain. When they were told about it they got mad and acted like they couldnt have possibly done anything wrong.
Toan Tran acted very unprofessional and started getting angry when told about my poked gums which created sharp intense pain. He started talking about he has been a dentist this and that many years and went to this and that school (as if that means he cant make a mistake). If he would have just admitted that my gums were poked hard and apologized I would not even be writing this, but his arrogance and condescending attitude towards me have left me no choice.
The pain I had radiated in my jaw an gave me a headache and the pain lasted 3 weeks. I went to another dentist less than a week later after the disaster at Toan Tran's office (Mangrove Bay Dentistry) and told the other dentist about the pain and after examining me asked me if I had any trauma like hitting my gums with a tooth brush or accidently did something. I didnt tell him, but it was from Mangrove Bay Dentistry's poking. He ended up prescribing me medication for pain and pain lasted 3 weeks. It was radiating and at times throbbing...they probably hit a nerve.
In my opinion he is a mediocre dentist at best and should go back to school to brush up on his technique. He should also perhaps attend a business class on how to treat patients and deal with constructive criticism when a patient makes him aware of a mistake he made.
I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a great dentist to keep looking. Mangrove Bay Dentistry is not somewhere I would recommend to anyone. I would not let them near my teeth again that is for sure.
