Vitaliya and lurii DOB 1984 have been married since 2013 and have one child in common, was present for part of the incident. Vitaliya said there have been many prior domestic violence (estimated more than 10 separated incidents) but never any sexual assaults before the incident on 03-14-2020.
Vitaliya said she and lurii separated in August of 2019 and filed for divorce in October of 2019. Vitaliya moved back in with lurii in January of 2020. Vitaliya said she moved back in with lurii because she felt pressure to reunite her family, lurii had told her he wanted to get back together, and he threatened her with deportation if they did not get back together.

Vitaliya Mereshko provided me with the following paraphrased Statement:
On 03-14-2020 my husband (lurii Mereshko) had his friend, Alex Shakuto, and his wife over for a gathering in our backyard. I had been given a glass of wine by lurii at around 2100 hours, I had about a total of three glasses of wine, Iurii gave me a glass of wine he filled in our kitchen and refilled my glass two times throughout the night.
After a while, Alex's wife said she wasn't feeling well, had told me she threw up in our bathroom, and told me she was going home. Alex's wife left the location. Shortly after, about an hour after my first drink I started to not feel good myself. I felt "groggy", "foggy" and "scared". I do not feel like this when I drink wine.
I told lurii I was going to sleep and I went to my bedroom with our three year old daughter, I fell asleep and the next thing I remember was being dragged off the bed by lurii. He had grabbed me by my clothing and I think my hair, because I remember my head hurting throughout the incident.
Iurii had thrown me down on the ground several times and dragged me to the living room. While in the living room lurii threw me down to the sofa in the living room. At some point, Alex had gotten on top of me and had held me down my arms. I was yelling and screaming "Go away, idiot. Go away." I was struggling to get away from Alex and lurii had filmed part of this on my cell phone. I tried to get away and had come out of the bedroom and started to cry.
Alex then took me outside to the backyard. lurii threw me back down to the ground and held me down on my stomach. Iurii then took off my pants and raped me. He was very aggressive and it did not last long from what I canremember. I was screaming and trying to get away. Iurii then flipped me over on my back and hit me in my mouth.
I cannot remember if he hit me with a closed fist or an open hand. I just know that my tooth got knocked out, and he cut my lip from the injury. I do not remember much after that. I remember police and medics being there at our house, being transported to the hospital. And then I remember waking up at the hospital. I do not remember speaking to any police.
I was only drinking alcohol and did not take any drugs that night. I do not remember a clear timeline of the events of that night and the full recollection of the event did not come to me until a few days after the assault. I waited so long to report the assault because it took a while for me to fully recall the assault and to gain the courage to report it.
Iurii has threatened me many times he was going to deport me if I broke up with him because I do not have any family here and he has a sister living in the country. I moved out when I got out of the hospital and the next day (03-23-2020) obtained a restraining order to protect me and my daughter.

INJURIES:
Vitaliya said she received bruising to both of her legs, a burn to her right ankle, abrasions to her mouth and tongue, minor abrasions to her neck area, and stated she had to have dental work done to one of her front tooth because it had been knocked out during the assault
