Would prefer to give them a 0 rating. Husband apparently agreed to the verbal contract but was told he could cancel within the 10 day period. Information arrived via mail more than 10 days later and we were told it was too late to cancel. Had already taken first payment off VISA. Numerous emails and phone calls followed as they had a very limited selection of magazines available in Canada. I didn't want any of them. To have to pay almost $1000 CDN for magazines you don't want is absurd. Cancelled VISA card and harassing phone calls followed. I eventually contacted the Better Business Bureau in Florida and this was resolved with 24 hours! Highly recommend the BBB. Account closed and we were put on their do not call list.
I informed them months ago I am no longer employed and wish to cancel they keep sending them but I am no longer at the address on the books and no funds for change of address from post office. I had to leave my apartment and now live in a boarding house. these guys are blood thirsty Mongols who show no mercy and keep sending letters and now they are checking my employment status. duh I'm NOT working and are going to send it to a third party
On March 14, 2016. I got a phone call from a very nice lady, asking me to subscribe to Magazine Publisher Service. She gave me the details, so I said ok. She informed me that I will be receiving a call from her supervisor. Carmine Capparello called and asked me questions. He indignantly kept on asking questions, with a speedy tone of voice, and more or less telling me what to say, because I could not understand what he was saying. During this conversation, I began feeling overwhelmed and changed my mind about subscribing. After telling Carmine that I did not want the magazines, he told me that he had already taken the first payment out, from my credit card. I told him to put it back, and he said that he couldn't. At this time, I was getting angry...feeling distress. I then accepted, because he made it sound like I couldn't back out of my subscription. I told my husband, he got angry and called the company about a month later, because they were calling me constantly, about 6 times a day. My husband called the toll free number and talked to the manager, within the discussion, she played the recording of our conversation, but to my dismay, the section of the recording was removed, the part where I had asked Carmine to put my money back on my credit card.
I was contacted Sept.29/2015 Payment on my credit card was taken out on same day, not for $57.50 but for $82.01 (American) I was not told I would be paying that amount.
I was told that I would receive 3 magazines free for the first year. I would be paying $57.50 every four months for a year. When I contacted the company after receiving my bill Iwas told that it had been discussed at the time of being signed up and that the amount was $57.50/Month for 1year.
At that cost the 4years for the 12 Month payment would $984.12 for three magazines for 4 years. This would make the payment for each magazine $328.04 for the 4 years or $82.01 per year.
I had not received anything from the company as of that time as to conformation or agreement. I contacted the company 1-800-784-0232 and told them I was not paying that kind of money for Magazines that I really could get for less money in the stores.
I was told I could not cancel, so I contacted my credit company and cancelled my credit card and they said they would try to get my payment back. The $82.01 was credited to to my account.
I thought that was the end of it. Unfortunately then came the harrassing phone calls, two or more times a day, when messages were left they were barely civil.
On December 4/2015 a bill arrived for the "missed" payments and a $30.00 late/invoice fee. There was also a threat of of an "Involuntary Pay Procedure", if started they would not be able to stop.
I will speak to them one more time, but I will not pay them any money and will not tolerate any more hidden money schemes or threats.
I started receiving magazines in the mail unbeknowst to me, I suffer from short term memory loss, but apparently to them I gave them my credit card info, and I was duped, I paid for the magazines I received, but the bills are still coming, the magazines have expired.
I received a phone call in August 2015 about a magazine subscription where I would receive 5 magazines of my choice.
i would pay for 1 year and receive the magazines free for 3 more years after that.
i was promised a diamond watch also for subscribing .
the magazines would take 8-16 weeks to arrive and I would pay $57.50 US every month via my credit card.
i was told that I would be receiving a package in the mail with all the details. All I got was a letter of confirmation and agreement a few weeks later.
when I saw the amount I had to pay I decided to cancel this subscription, when I phoned the 1-800 number, which is a US phone,
i was told I was too late to cancel, I was not able to cancel.
i made several calls asking for a list of magazines I was to receive , was told I could only get some from a short
list because I lived in Canada.
when I agreed to this I assumed I was dealing with a Canadian company.
i changed some magazines . Months went by with no magazines arriving and never did receive a watch.
i received a phone call from the US saying I had not paid the second month. I said I had and I had the money order..which ended up costing over $80 , to prove it.
She said to avoid this confusion I could pay the whole amount and would not be hassled with late payments.
I agreed at the cost of over $800 US....more than I had been told..
I sent an email asking what magazines I was to receive. A reply from Ashley said I was to get 3 magazines..

Dec. 3,4 th 2015 I received 2 Canadian Licing and 2 Elle Canada...
i phoned again on Dec. .4 th. to understand why I was receiving only 3 magazines and not 5 and why
I was getting Elle Canada.
the girl on the phone was very rude . She said when I had received the last call I cancelled the Readers Digest
and the subscription of 3 magazines was extended to 5 years instead of 3.
i have no idea that had been agreed to, I has wanted to change my magazines not cancel 2 of them.
I tried to explain this to the girl and she became very rude, antagonistic saying sh had been on the phone with me for 5 minutes and was not going to talk to me anymore.
She said she had all the calls in front of her and all this had been explained to be already and she din,t want to waste her time.
i apologized several times but she didn,t even let me speak. out of frustration, I hung up.
i am kicking my self for not keeping track of these conversations.
i have never dealt with a more rude, confusing company and I am hoping nobody else gets taken by them.
i will be writing to the Canada Mags address in Monteeal and lodge a complaint as well as writing to the magazines
themselves.
Frustrated and as a pensioner, a large of money lost...
I have never received anything from this company and they are still billing me. I was contacted at work, and under false pretences I was pressured into buying a magazine order through them.
i have not received anything from this company but a bill and some of the WORST customer service help I've ever had- one man put me on hold mid-sentence! Apparently I was supposed to receive a package within a week talking about the magazines, but I did not.
I have attempted to contact this company online, but haven't received a reply that wasn't aggressive in nature or a command that I phone them instead. I just phoned them twice today, only to get no help at all. Of the three/four people I spoke with, all of them were rude, and did nothing but tell me it was my own fault.
when I explained that I only agreed to this because of the sales rep claiming to be from my credit card company, and that they knew the bank I was with, I was told that I was wrong and that the sales rep wouldn't have known. I was then played a recording of myself that was so distorted that while I heard all the questions asked, half the time I had no idea what my answer itself was.
they are charging me over 200$ for product that I haven't received and probably never will (including a watch) and I refuse to pay my bill with them.
