Madison Hill came in and raised our rent $300-$500 a month and gave us 30 days notice to take it or leave it. That is totally disgusting as it shows that they didn’t care about anything else other than making a profit and then selling the complex after two years. They have been doing this all over, even in New Providence. They should not be allowed to do this. This is not something that you bet on and walk away with a profit, it’s our homes.
Do not rent from MHP. This company is a joke , they play around with scheduling when you need something fixed. They'll have different people contacting you and you can never just speak to one person. The manager Mel is so RUDE , if you call him to ask him about whatever services you need or maintanace he won't even know the names of the people he is sending to you . My apartment has MOLD , leaks , broken cabinets , faucets , and i've been complaining for months . NOTHING , but if i stop paying my rent i bet you i will get a reaction . Next step is calling the health department. I was told from someone in their company how they will take things out of old apartments and put them in the apartments they are showing too people too rent just too have people move in and get their hard earned money and they don't even care if things are broken they'll install it anyways just make it look good for show. This is supppsed to be my home , why is management not helping their hard working and paying tenants with basic things we should have if we are PAYING. Fix the leaks, fix the faucets , Don't just throw a coat of paint on things and think it will be okay ( Which is exactly what they did too my apartment. I'm giving them another couple of weeks then it's a call to the department of health .
The apartments in Chatham NJ owned by Madison Hill Properties are sold to perspective tenants as "luxury". However, they are not able to provide tenants with basic utillities promised in the least. I have been living here for 7 months and we have been without hot water on multiple occassions sometimes over a week at a time. In addition, there was a whole week with out heat and even after the heat was "fixed" the apartment temperature drops to below 60 degrees on cold days. In addition there is insufficiant parking for tenants and many tenants park on the grass or in fire zones. The managment companies big soulution to this was to give parking stickers but since there are more tenants than parking spots and people do on occassion have guest (shocking I know) their solution did not help. As stated is other reviews there are whole garages filled with garbage and a manitiance line that is most likely a call center in another state. We are counting down the days until our lease is up. We blame both the managment company, the property manager, and the real estate company who sold the companies lies to us.

There is Heat problem all in the apartments
Hot water issue , can take shower in the mornings.
Maintenence is not available.
Its over charged.
Appartments are old and require maintanence
