Madame Bridal Reviews
On February 13th, I placed an order for my daughter's first prom dress. She wanted a Sherri Hill dress in a very specific size and color. You cannot deal directly with a prom dress designer/manufacturer, so you have to communicate and rely on a second hand party, the boutiques and shops that are authorized to sell their dresses.
I finally found a bridal website called Madame Bridal that could ship the dress to me by April 20th, if I paid for rush shipping. I placed the order. I paid the extra rush shipping and they processed my payment on the 13th of February. The total charges were $720.00. Without having shipped the product yet, they ran the card and deposited the money. For 10 weeks they had our funds. Our money was not available to us and we had not producat to show for it, just the promise of her dress being delivered on April 20th.
Wednesday, April 19th, I realize I have seen no communication indicating the dress was shipped. No tracking number had been sent, nothing. I call Madame Bridal. The representative picked up after 7 minutes. She was not concerned. She showed nothing in her computer indicating my dress was shipped and she would call me back at 1:00pm the next day.
I leave a second phone conversation, this time with Brad Simon. He promises me that he will call me in the morning and he will make it right. He calls at 10:30am. I am in an allocations meeting for United Way. As soon as I get a break, I call him. He sent some choices that he had in stock, becasue he said there was no way she was going to get the dress she originally wanted. The only one she wanted, I might add. I send them to my daughter at school. She steps out of the classroom to look at them. We send back a different choice. I call to verify he has received the second choice, but he has stepped out. By the time, we connect again, he says it is too late to ship. Now, I know that they are on a different time zone, but you can get to UPS and Fed Ex by 6:00pm and still send overnight. He claimed after 1:00pm he couldn't do it.
He sends me an email that simply states he doesn't owe us money, he doesn't owe us any consideration and it isn't his fault that Sherri Hill didn't send the dress out. Now, remember, customers cannot directly communicate with Sherri Hill. He is the representative for that company. He made the promises. He took the money, the only thing he didn't take was responsibility. His company did not even realize they hadn't sent the dress out.
My daughter has no prom dress. They were not willing to discount or make any restitution for the damage and trouble that they have caused. Thank God it wasn't a wedding. No one should use this company.
