For 25 years, I've been dealing with Macon County Child Support in Tuskegee, Alabama and throughout those 25 years, the father of my daughter has been able to basically get away with murder as far as not paying child support.
This is basically due to the fact that Macon County as a whole has been completely in the wrong with handling my daughter's case. From child support to the courthouse, everyone that has been involved has been in the wrong from the very beginning.
First off, the father of my child has not paid much of any child support for the past 25 years. I had been back and forth, going to court with him, often times he wasn't there, to only be told that since he never showed, that he would have a warrant out for his arrest since the last time he came to court, he was supposed to have gotten a job, to which he never did.
This 'gotten a job' scenario has happened about 20 some odd times throughout the 25 year period.
Often times when he was arrested, due to a writ of arrest warrant, he was eventually let go. The last time he was in jail, which was in Opelika Alabama, he faked the fact that he has a stomach issue was let out of jail because of it. When I found this out however, shocked was an understatment to how I felt about the whole thing.
Now mind you, throughout all this, I had been looking up information about the father of my daughter's whereabouts, feeding information to my case worker, Mrs. Andrews to where they can find him in Montgomery, where he resides. All of this work that I had done, to which my case worker should have done, went to no avail since they never seemed to go about doing anything other than sending him letters and such.
Fast forward to recently.....
Back in April of this year, I decided to give my case worker a call, since it had been a number of years since I last called and talked with her. I would constantly call, asking for any updates or anything and of course there was none. Not even a letter was sent to me.
I was shocked to find out from Mrs. Andrews that hehad been getting Social Security and that this particular Social Security was for people who were in their 60's. So because of this, I was unable to get anything for my daughter since that Social Security wouldn't let me get any compensation.
Now I had asked several questions to Mrs. Andrews about this situation but one was most important and that was how could he have gotten that particular Social Security and he was only in his 40's? We were both perplexed by this and she stated to me that the lady who handled finding stuff out from Social Security couldn't understand why this was. She had also told me that she was going to be sending me something in the mail which was a replacement card for my child support payments, I found this later on however when it came in the mail.
About a week after I had gotten the card, I got another letter from Child Support stating that they were closing the case because of the fact that he was getting Social Security and therefore since it was the one where I couldn't be compensated, the case would be closed.
I eventually fought to keep it open since I later found out that he had been using two different Social Security Numbers.
I had stated this to both Mrs. Andrews as well as her supervisor Mr. Bascomb, who of course did absolutely nothing to investigate it at all.
I eventually recently gotten a call back from Mr. Bascomb, after calling to see if any updates came up to which he transferred me to Mrs. Andrews who eventually called me up today and stated that no update was available and because of the fact that he was on Social Security and I couldn't get anything from it, that I'd have to wait and see if any changes happen, like if he becomes employed or something to that fact.
Again, shock is the understatment because when I reminded her of the fact that he had two different social security numbers and whether she had investigated that issue, Mrs. Andrews answer literally made me want to do a 180.
Her answer was: "Well, that is not my job to do that."
So what is her job anyways? I mean, it seems that no one is working in the favor of my daughter or myself in this case. And this hasn't beent he case for 25 years because basically me and my daughter had been given the run around for so long.
At this point, I've been struggling for years trying to make sure that my daughter's are met. My daughter was on disability for sometime when she was young but eventually was taken off and now has no insurance whatsoever. I eventually was able to get her some help to get her back on some sort of medication because she has been dealing with depression and anxiety along with the ADHD that she has had since she was 7 years old.
I feel that Macon County Child Support (Mrs. Carlotta Andrews and Bakari Bascomb) along with Macon County District Court (Judge Deborah H Biggers) has completely done nothing for my daughter and has blantly let the father of my child get away with whatever he wants as far as not paying child support for all these years.
This is part of the reason as to why I've put them all on Rip off report because I know that I am not the only person who has had to deal with this issue in Macon County and these people here need to be put on blast for not doing their jobs.
If anyone knows of who I can talk with as far as getting this resolved or what not, please feel free to respond to this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
