Macomb Appliance Repair Reviews

A terrible company to deal with! We had a five-year-old GE dishwasher that went on the blink. After repeated telephone calls (eleven), text messages (four), three months and $308.95 later, it’s still not fixed. The “owner” is unresponsive.

Once, after making an appointment, he forgot to schedule his technician. This after taking yet another day off work waiting for him. Then when it was re-scheduled, he forgot to tell the tech what part was needed…another half day of work missed.

You can’t leave a message because their voicemail box is full. The last time we spoke he said “We haven’t forgetting about you”. Well, it would be very hard to forget about Macomb Appliance Repair. Just a terrible company to deal with!

DO NOT USE HIM, TOTAL SCAM

I Had Chris Grace come out to fix my ice maker. He told me the whole "unit" needed to be replaced and kept looking in this little book. Said it was expensive and would run $479.00 He kept refering to the "unit" to make me think the entire ice maker need to be replaced not just the ice tray mehanism. He required a $250.00 deposit which he had me make out the check to him personally, and he would be back in 2 days to install. I was not at home the day he came to install the ice "unit", but my husband was. He was very surprised to see this small part instead of the large ice maker unit that is in the fridge. Chris Grace was in our home a total for both days 20mins. He than had my husband write him a check that he accually had made out to the company this time! When my husband asked him to leave the part he nervously handed it back to him and said"Yeah, the motor probally froze up. You could probally open and lubricate the gears to see if it works". Well, gee scam artist why didn't you do this in the first place on your first visit.. Oh, I know why because then you would have only gotten a $69.995 service fee and not be able to rip me off.

When I got home I looked on line for the price of the so called "unit", I found it runs about $70.00. I would love to make that kind of money. $400 for 20 minutes work! Thats $1600 an hour. I Called and confronted him on this and he just kept refering to his book that tells him what to charge for the job total, no btreak down of parts and labor and so on. I have asked numerous repair companies and they all say the same thing. "There is no such book that tells you what to charge for a job, it will tell you part prices, not what to charge for the full job with no break down." They all also said he is a total rip off and charged over double the amount of the job. When I told them the company name they all said the same thing again. "oh yeah, I have gotten numerous complaints about that guy!!"

My dryer smelled like burning rubber so I called my usual repair man but didn't hear back from him so I looked on the internet for an appliance company. The web site looked professional so I called. Alarm bells went off when the guy said he'd be right over and I had to tell him "no" I needed to make an appointment. He sounded really annoyed.

When he showed he wasn't in uniform and I got this gut feeling that he looked "wrong". I let him in anyways because I needed my dryer fixed. He took off the front panel. Looked inside with a flashlight and said, There's nothing wrong with this dryer. Everything looks good."

He charged me $59.95 and left. I tried the dryer again and everything smelled like burning rubber. I called him back and he said he couldn't come back that day but would come on Friday. He never showed. I waited all day.

My husband went to the bank to stop payment on the check I wrote but the guy went straight from our house to the bank and cashed it!

My regular repair man came out and there had been a fire in my dryer! I am so upset that not only did this guy scam me for $60.00 but he saw evidence of a fire and didn't warn me.
