On January 14th 2018 it was discovered that one of my family members was going to physically harm me via Facebook Messenger. On January 29th 2018 I was sent to the hospital for three weeks because this family member decided to pull through with the plans.
During my time in the hospital I contacted my LutherSales Salesperson and informed of the January 29th 2018 incident on February 6th 2018. I had asked to skip two payments because of the time of work that I had missed. My corporate job froze payroll and sent me a referral to a leave of absence company the same day to file for domestic violence leave of absence during my time away.
It was at this time that my corporate job HR Team reached out to me by phone and explained that my specific organization was being moved to a new payroll system. The new payroll system would not accept the Routing or Account Numbers for LutherSales direct deposit because the Banking Account Number from LutherSales contained my social security number. In numerous attempts to get in contact with them regarding the situation, I was left ignored.
Because the company ignored my voicemails that I left and the e-mails that I sent to the billing contact at LutherSales, without calling or informing me, they sent my account directly to collections. After sending it to collections I finally received an e-mail from them. They used the justification that I was in the hospital to interpret that I had intentionally done something wrong to stop payments to them so they could send it to collections. I was called a liar and told that I didn't want to pay them anymore. This was extremely offensive as a victim of domestic violence for a company to use this justification.
I have justification from my job indicating that I was out on Domestic Violence Leave of Absence and I have documentation from HR indicating the removal of their account because it contained my social security number. In the e-mail that they sent after they sent it to collections, they informed me that I could've paid with a credit/debit card, check, etc. But didn't contact me before. According to the collection agency that called me, they have had my account since Friday, April 13th 2018.
This is unfair and completely criminal. LutherSales intentionally ignored 12 voicemails and 12 e-mails from me indicating that I needed a new account number and refused to inform me that I could pay via something else other than direct deposit before sending my account to collections. Which they require you to have setup before they finance an item to you. They have only started to respond to my voicemail and e-mail correspondence after it was sent to collections, they never called or e-mailed me before it was sent.
I want everyone to know how this company mocked a victim of Domestic Violence and used my situation for their personal gain. I've been a client of theirs since April 2015 and I will no longer be doing business with them.
I ordered a TV and laptop from Luther Sales on 10/31/17. It was delivered on 11/14/17. I had just moved to a new apartment so it took a while to get my cable hooked up and to get situated. I should have known it would be a problem when they tried to pass off a refurbished laptop for a new laptop but that issue was rectified. Back to the TV. It was received on 11/14/17 but I did not take it out of the box and hook it up until 12/10/17. That was when I got a TV stand for the computer and received the cable box. When it came out of the box, it looked fine. But when I plugged it up that is when I saw that the entire right side of the TV was cracked! I immediately contacted, Kerry, the sales rep that had been assisting me. This was on a Sunday and she responded to me that same day. She told me that she would look into it. She called me back on 12/13/17 and said that there was nothing that they could do because I should have let them know about the issue within 72 hours.
I didn't see that anywhere in the paperwork and again I did not take it out of the box until 12/10/17. I advised Kerry that I would stop making payments on the TV and would continue to pay for the laptop because that is the only thing that I received that is working as it should. She advised that if I stop making payments on the TV then I would be turned over to collections. The TV came out of the box broken!! I should not have to pay for something that is not what was promised. I either want the TV replaced and I will continue to make payments or take this broken TV back and only require me to pay for the laptop.
