On November 10, 2015, I contacted Dalton Metzler of Tomball, Texas (a graduate of Texas Tech University) regarding a freelance writing project after he or his assigns posted a Craigslist ad entitled "I need a High Quality professional commercial script." After engaging in a conversation about a 30-45 second commercial he would shoot for his new outdoor lighting business, "Luminary Line," we agreed I would perform the work and given I lived in Houston, he would pay me in person upon completion of the script project.

Dalton Metzler is listed as CEO or a principal employee of HLMaids, Luminary Line, High Rise Detailing, Parasace, in addition to other small businesses.

His explicit written instructions included the following: "I need a 30-45 second commercial showing what our company does but simple and a luxurious feel. We have access to mansions, Bentleys, and other super cars to use the video, we specialize in exterior home lighting. So we want to capture the lights at night time. We can use more than one house. I need a full script made and what is going on in the video. Not much talking needs to be done.Just remember to use all of our luxuries that we have to an advantage as this service is mainly for the rich."

I was unable to begin to project until November 16th, 2015, in which he was aware after a conversation about limitations with my schedule due to a family emergency. He said that I should continue to do the work as assigned, and asked that I did not abandon him because "People have bailed before, so was just making sure."

I furnished Dalton Metzler with two hours worth of work on his script and submitted the copy to him. After a review of the work, Mr. Metzler expressed concern because I had used the name "The Perfect Light" in the script. In Dalton Metzler's Craigslist post, he included a link to The Perfect Light (http://theperfectlight.com), which I later learned was a competitor's website. He did not tell me his business was in fact "Luminary Line" until after completion of his project.

As is customary, I would have revised his script as part of his normal hour fees at no cost. However, when I asked him for feedback, Mr. Metzler did not respond. Eventually, he stopped returning my text messages altogether. I did not hear from Mr. Metzler until November 18th, 2015 after several attempts to contact him regarding the script.

When Dalton (who said his name was 'Austin' in his Craigslist ad and answered to such in his written communications with me) received a phone call from my secondary number, he answered and then hung up when I asked for him by name. A second call went straight to voicemail. Not surprisingly, Dalton returned a text message after I told him I would be sending him a invoice for hours worked as directed, in addition to providing him with his home address, which is listed as the address for multiple businesses Dalton owns.

As an entrepreneur myself, I was under the impression that Dalton Metzler would honor his committments. Unfortunately, after several opportunities to pay his invoice for work received as assigned, he has chosen to reneg on that committment.

I would like Dalton Metzler to pay for the work he received, which is customary for workers in the freelance trade.

Scammer. "Dalton" is a Child playing games and costing people $

He is highly unprofessional and likely does not own a company at all, so who knows if this review will do any good at all. He is probably some snooty, rich kid who thinks it is funny to waste the time and money of businesses. Fortunately, I asked for partial payment after providing some work, at which time he begged me to send more work and then he disappeared. Beware of Dalton or Austin or whatever his name is and his fake companies. On his profiles, he talks about the value of hard work and being self-employed, but he obviously has no understanding of either.

I was hired by Dalton Metzler of Lumiary Line to on a freelance basis from freelancer.com to complete a marketing strategy for his new 'company' called "Backyard Customs".

Dalton emailed and sent me skype messages constantly. I thought this was just another needy customer, however, once I delivered the work I received no communication from him at all. No feedback on the work, no thank you, no criticisms or questions – absolutely nothing. I proceeded to ask him for payment for the 8 hours of work I completed and never received any payment at all. I tried calling his number but it appeared listed to be disconnected.

I did some thorough research of his name 'Dalton Metzler' and what I found did not surprise me. He has been ripping off not only contrators like myself, but also his own customers. I have a feeling this is why he owns so many 'companies' – every time he rips someone off and gets a bad reputation, he starts a new company.

I will be traveling to the USA very soon and will be spending a solid 3-4 months in Texas purely to hunt him down and get my money owed.

My advice to anyone thinking of doing business with Dalton - don't. He is a scam, pure and simple.

See you soon Dalton..

Scam company who doesn't pay up

This company / person is a scam.

I'm a marketing and branding contractor hired by 'luminary line' aka Dalton Metzler. I received non-stop communication from Dalton whilst working on the project. Once I handed the completed marketing strategy over, all communications stopped from Mr Metzler's end and he still has not paid.

I urge all consumers and contractors to avoid any of his businesses like the plague.
