DO NOT USE LUCAS CAR CARE! THEY ARE RIPOFF ARTISTS!

The only well-oiled machine is the one they use to cheat you!

We took our 02 Benz into Lucas after it stalled out during traffic.

They said it needed new battery (which we had just replaced a year prior).

They told us it was the wrong battery (!) and charged us $250 to put a new one in.

The next day- we drove the car a few blocks home.

It again STALLED OUT. Tow #2, this time they tell us it's the fuel pump.

Another several hundred dollars replace fuel pump and filter.

The next day- a few blocks and again the car stalled out!!

Tow #3. This time they say, it's the camshaft sensor at $370. (Well, I'm not sure cause the vague invoice says 'camshaft' in one place and 'crankshaft' in another--watch those invoices!!)

Guess what??? Yep. SAME PROBLEM!!

Tow #4 (at $65 a tow by the way) they say, 'oops, must have put in the WRONG PART'- you actually need a FUEL GAUGE SENSOR at another $800.

(Translation... the whole time, the car was simply OUT OF GAS but the gauge didn't read empty-- HUM, I wonder how that technician 'test drove it' with no gas??).

SO NOW WE ARE ONTO THE SCAM. We offer to pay for the new 'correct' PART... but NO MORE LABOR and NO MORE INFLATED PARTS FEES. They messed up, we paid for the mistake; we'll pay for the new part but no more labor charges to fix THEIR "mistake".

(I think it was really an "intentional mistake"... I think they do this all the time, putting in parts you don't need then oops, oh you need this one!)

Tyger's response? After being rude and actually yelling at us for wanting a price break; he told us to tow our car somewhere else, cause he wasn't going to give us a break on it- we had to pay the additional labor! After Tyger was INSULTING and RUDE RUDE RUDE-- his service guy, Craig, said they'd knock off $150. GIVE ME A BREAK!! We already paid FULL price for labor and a part we DID NOT NEED!!! We were furious.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PERSONAL DECENCY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED ANYWHERE!!!!!!

Tyger knew we'd never be back, so he didn't give a flip if he continued to rip us off- either we pay it or tow it.

ON TOP OF THAT-- Tyger then says, if we take the car somewhere else we have to pay him $770 for DIAGNOSTICS cause supposedly they spent 7 hours at $110/hr shop rate diagnosing the problem. UH I DON'T THINK SO!! You diagnosed WRONG-- and I already paid for that!!! NOBODY charges more than 1 hour for diagnostics-- and in this area NOBODY charges $110/hr shop rate.

We were in a bind... already out about $1200 and needed our car! We agreed just fix the thing and be done!

The only upside, WE THOUGHT, was that on that 3rd visit, Craig finally gave us a loaner car to drive to work. BEWARE....

When we returned to pick up our 'fixed' car... Craig invoiced us $50/day for the 'free loaner'!! We protested because NOBODY said there was a fee.. just gave us the key and said to use it... and we did NOT sign anything authorizing a $50/day rental charge. But, Craig just said, TOUGH LUCK... you want your car back- then you pay the loaner fee and take it up with Tyger later. yeah, right!

Here's a red flag we should have realized on the first 'repair'.. .the invoice is NOT itemized. You can't tell how much they're charging for labor versus the part. You can't even tell what part they supposedly put in. They are ambigious on the invoice to cover their butt if you have a problem later.

My final conclusion is that TYGER IS AS SLIMY AS THEY COME. He does NOT care about customers whatsoever. He only wants customers that either don't understand cars/repairs; or don't have time to check up on him; or don't read their invoices.

IF YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO IS AWARE WHEN YOU'RE BEING RIPPED OFF AND LIED TO-- then he doesn't want YOU as a customer. He only wants people he can scam.

Final cherry on the cake? Tyger does a standard 'personalized' follow up call saying "I'm just calling to make sure my guys took good care of you." When he flat out knows he tried to cheat us and we called him on it. How insulting and lowball.

BIGGEST LOSER OF A PERSON WE EVER MET. Not just because he's crude, rude and very dishonest... but because he revels in being that way.

I can assure you-- any 'good reports' Lucas has on this site, are BOGUS. NOBODY goes on 'rippoff report' to tell what a good job somebody did. Plus nobody gets 4-5 'good' reports in one day-- and good reports every other day for months at a time-- that are from real customers.

I PROMISE YOU THOSE GOOD REPORTS DID NOT COME FROM ACTUAL CUSTOMERS OF LUCAS!! Craig admitted to us he has these 'discussions' with frustrated customers 5 or 6 times week!

The 'satisfied customers' are all employees trying to cover their lousy bosses butt... and you know, they all deserve each other. Tyger bold-face lies when he says he has 98% satisfied customers.. but he doesn't care if it's a lie... he just figures you'll never know the truth.

Here's to the TRUTH!

If I could put signs on the street all around Lucas Car Care to warn people I would! It takes everything in me, not to go in when I drive by- and tell those innocent customers to get their cars out of there as fast as they can!

Lucas Car Care- Tyger Lucas Tyger Lucas cypress, Texas

I took my car in to have the A/C serviced, the service manager gave me the deer in the headlight look when I explained how the A/C was fuctioning. (Should have given me the 1st indication to run). He explained they needed to recharge the system for 135.00 so I gave them the OK. Most repair shops advertize 59.95 A/C service but I was have a alignment done also. The next day the owner did a follow up (CYA) call see if I enjoyed my rip off, I explained to him that my A/C still was not working properly and was doing the same thing I just paid hime 135.00 to repair. He said bring it back in. Well this seemed like a good repair shop (noticed I said seemed) I returned 2 days later as I was out of town and it was the weekend. I did take my care back and explained to Gary the service mgr about the A/C and I got that same (deer in the head light look or you may say Oh sh@% look). I got a call several hours later saying how are you and I said good and you. Gary said well "I am better than you because your compressor in your little Mercedes has taken a dump" (actual quote). I asked how much to replace the compressor he quoted 1250.00. I refused the service because the car is still under factory warranty. I returned to pick up my car and he said that will be 119.95 and asked for what. He said dianogstics ?? What the heck was the 1st 135.00 for????? Also I now question the alignment as I was told 99.00 originally and got a call later saying I need a 350.00 part to adjust the camber. I agreed to pay extra.

In a nut shell I have paid these jokers over 700.00 bucks and still have no A/C and the aligmnent is not right. The 350.00 part that they say dont come with Mercedes is a lie according to the dealership.

If you drive a european car they expect you to open up your wallet and let Tyger buy a new toy. These people need to be STOPPED.

About 2 Yrs. ago I took a car to Lucas Auto Care because I was losing peddle when trying to stop. I had just bought the car for an emergency car when others were being repaired. They told me that the wrong fluid was used and that the system would need to be drained and flushed. As they looked at it more I was told about further repairs that were needed. I proceeded to have the repairs done.

They repaired/replaced almost the entire braking system. Entire cost-$2168.00!!! I drove the car after the repairs for about 1000 miles and then parked it, only using on occasion and really not much. I was trying to fix up the car to give to my daughter, when I found that the brakes were not working again. I took the car back to Lucas Auto Care because the brakes should have been under warranty. They found punctured brake lines that needed replacing, which they did. When they were done with that they decided it needed a new master cylinder and the job would be an additional $1350.00, I reminded them that the master cylinder should be under the warranty.

They checked and said yes it was and all I had to pay was labor ($40.00). During the phone conversation with Thomas about the master cylinder I asked outright if they replaced the master cylinder would the car be done and ready to pass inspection. He told me that he didn't know about the rest of the car but he assured me that the brakes and emergency brake would be functioning fine and ready for state inspection. I was called and told the car was done. When I got there they were rushing around with different customers. Joe gave me my bill, which I paid, and said I had a good hard peddle. I took the car and discovered that it had a hard peddle (it was like driving my old '65 Chevy PU with manual brakes) I literally had to stand on the brakes to stop. Looking over the invoice when I got home I discovered that there were other repairs that were needed and I was not told about.

The invoice states that the customer declined repairs needed to make the car safe. I was not informed of these repairs, had I known about the additional repairs I would not have had any of the work done, the car just isn't worth it. The invoice also states that I need a power booster, which is why the brakes are so hard. So I feel that naturally they are going to find something that is not covered under warranty. The power booster is not and what will be next. This was typical of my last encounter with them. They keep adding more problems after they get money for the others. They milk you. After getting home I called and Thomas was not there so I spoke with Joe who gave me the runaround about a power booster. I was told Thomas would be in on Monday, I called Monday and was then told not in till Tuesday.

Furthermore, Lucas Auto Care allowed me to get into an unsafe car without telling me anything about it and let me drive home. Had anything happened, my wife and kids would be set for life. They also knew the car was for my daughter-jeopardizing her as well! How much $ does it take to totally fix brakes---so far we are at $2644.00!!!! And it is still not done??? Please do not give these thieves any more money!!! Help us put them out of business! Should they refuse to co-operate, I am sure a lawyer will see our side.

they already knew i was very upset. The owner came out and invited me into the office I told him my issue and he explained to me that there is nothing he can do, they did all the work and put in a new compressor, and i was basically s%&* out of luck. But what he didnt know, lucky for me, my husband is an attorney ; )

I went straight to the mercedes dealer told them what happened, they checked out my car, guess what? It was the same compressor!

The only thing these crooks did to my car was put freon! $5500.00 worth of it of course! Whatever you do stay as far away from these people as you can.

BTW my husband has already filed a claim against your repair shop, we'll be seeing you in court. (( will see in court Indeed Lucas))

Lucas Auto Care They'll keep you coming back, but not because you're happy with their work! It takes at least 3-4 tries before they actually figure out how to fix your car and they just don't care. Cypress, Texas

I had my 1998 BMW towed to Lucas Auto on Grant Road after it overheated and blew a hose. Initially, I was very impressed by how quickly they diagnosed the problem, called us and completed the repair. It wasn't until later I discovered the reason they're so fast is because their work is sloppy and incomplete.

We had Lucas Auto replace the radiator and thermostat to fix the problem. For good measure and because of the year of the car, we asked them to replace all the belts while they were at it. Total bill was $1273.

Less than a week later, my car overheated again and I had it towed back to Lucas. Once again they were very quick with the diagnosis and the repair. This time we were told there was a cracked valve. Another week and another tow later, they told us the new radiator needed to be purged. Don't they do that when they install the new radiator??

We are having the car towed back to Lucas tomorrow for the fourth try, as the car overheated again. I would not recommend this garage to anyone! I believe the reason they always look so busy is because everyone has to bring their car back multiple time is order to get it fixed. I believe the SOP for this shop is to get the cars in and out as fast as possible. Acutually diagnosing and fixing the problem is not on their priority list.

Lucas Car care took my car in and after nearly two weeks of harassing them for a quote, I finally got one over the phone. I was out of town and told them this, and was unable to pick up a quote in person (maybe this is why they finally gave me a quote, since it would be over the phone) they quoted me over two grand for transmission work. I okd the work, as they had already taken so long to take apart the car and give me a quote as they claimed I needed the car back asap. after constant calling for nearly a month, they finally return the calls with the information that they have done the work they quoted for two grand and that there was something else in the transmission that they could not see untill they fixed the first problem and that they required another two thousand dollars to complete the job. well if they really took apart the transmission to give a quote, then there is no way they could have not known what it would really take to do the job unless they are simply idiots and not just theives. well, needless to say, I was not giving them another dollar. they offered to make me happy by purchasing the car from me for 15 thousand dollars LESS THAN BOOK VALUE!!!!! (yes he has a car lot scam also). I turned this theft down and picked up my car. I took it to the dealer who after examining it, filled out legal paper work stating that LUCAS COULD NOT HAVE EVER EVEN TOUCHED THE TRANSMISSION!!!!! THey simply stole the money and never touched the car. As the law states, I had to pay the first two grand to get my car back no matter what, so I did, and as Lucas knows, it is usually not worth hiring a lawyer over two grand cause the legal fees are that much, so he aparently keeps his scams under the ammount that make it worth legal action. well, I am going to eat the two grand, and hire a lawyer since the proof from the dealer stated that they completely fabricated the quote, the supposed work, and everything. They simply made it all up and charged me for keeping the car on their lot for a month and a half. RUN AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.

NOTE THAT HIS REPLIES to the other negative reports on this site and others, where SUPPOSED HAPPY CUStomers state how happy they are with lucas HAD to have been written by lucas himself to combat the negative reports. PROOF??? look at the dates and times of the supposed happy customers, the dates and times are sequential. that means someone sat there and entered the "happy customer"reports one right after the other after the other. Now what are the chances?? Come on man, what a scam. Ex employees are also willing to testify in the action as to scams they have seen.

Lucas Car Care Tyger Lucas Could not do a simple repair for a Honda Accord- Lied about OEM parts- AND MORE Cypress, Texas

A couple of years ago- I had the same things described in the other reports happen to me. Lucas care car looked good and had a great reputation (from people saying "I hear they are good"). But I had not spoken to anyone who actually had their vehicles worked on there.

I stopped by to get a feel for the place with a front headlight bulb needing to be replaces. Tyger gave me the royal treatment, did it for free..gave me a hug..the whole shebang so I felt great!!!! So a few months later I had the engine light come on. I brought it in to his shop. There was a woman office manager working at the time. She was very nice and said she had years of experience and seemed to really know her stuff. Tyger said she was single and going through some hard times and he was just trying to help her out though he wanted to "let her go" because he was getting too many complaints.

She called me to say that my exhaust had a leak in one of the hoses up in the back part. It would be around $100 to smoke test it. I said ok go ahead. She also suggested that since my mileage was at a certain point- to go ahead and get the maintenance tuneup timer belts, water pump etc done. I said ok- even though it was a bit early- but that's ok. She stated that they only use OEM parts. Since they weren't a Honda dealership- I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing. Both she and Tyger stated that they had one guy who was a"Honda certified technician." Which later I found out wasn't really true.

The Office manager called me and said the techs had the blueprints of the car laid out because they were having a hard time figuring out how to get up under the manifold to get to the hose . THAT was NOT a good sign. I said "DON'T TOUCH MY CAR if they don't know what they are doing!" She said "oh- they figured how to take it apart- just took them a while."

When I came to pick up the Honda (they did give me a loaner car which was great) it looked nice (Oh yes- they did wash it all pretty including the rims) but the dashboard and floorboards vibrated so much it even rattled papers int eh back seat. We drove to San Antonio and and I got a bad headache from the steering wheel vibrating so much. When I spoke or someone else in the car spoke- our voices vibrated!!!! However the other visits- they promised me a loaner car and then left me stranded without one on a weekend. So I again had to email Tyger- and he made the lady off manager go bring me a car. TY Tyger for that. He also apologized and said they DO NOT use OEM parts and the OM never should have said that and said that's one of the reasons he wants to fire her. (It was ALWAYS all her fault). Meanwhile the Off manager is telling me about all of Tygers problems, his accident, his injuries, and other personal business I just ignored!

I took the car back in- they said they could not find anything wrong and don't know why it's vibrating now. They thought maybe when the guys tried to put it back together after fixing the hose- they might have not put it back on right. Tyger was in Florida at the time. So I emailed him and told him no one was touching the car until he personally looked at it. He said he would look at it and take care of it personally. He got back in town- still could not find out why it was vibrating so badly.

They replaced three motor mounts. Still vibrated badly. Then Tyger turned on me and said something new must have developed and they weren't responsible. He hired a new Tech. An gentleman who was experienced and was the Honda automotive teacher at the college for like almost 30 years. At this point- each time I took the car in (4 times now) I sat in the car and turned it on to check it out. Then they would sit with me or ride with me BEFORE I even took it off the lot. So it stayed at their place. This guy drove it and saw right away something was wrong. THANK GOD! He was disappointed at what he saw had been done. They had put on the wrong timing belts. And they had only replaced the water pump- but not all the hoses etc- so that was all done. He said the engine mounts were not OEM Honda and they were close but could be a problem. He spent a lot of time redoing the work and making sure all was balanced properly. Tyger said he's get the right OEM engine mounts for me and had them replaced. The vibrating got a LOT better! But still not all the way gone. At this point Tyger was upset and started complaining TO ME how he was paying this guy almost $30 an hour to FIX ALL of their mistakes and he could not afford it anymore.

They did not charge me for a lot of things- but I also DID NOT GET what I had paid for!!! And I'm not talking a few hundred dollars- well over $1000. So I got stuck driving a vibrating car- there goes resell value!!!!

A couple of years later- I had a Honda place check it out- (Burdons Auto Care near Jones and 1960). They ARE AWESOME and knew what they are doing. Turns out that Tyger had my cracked original mounts left on my car- never got the new ones he said he would. SO A LOT MORE money it has cost me and time.

I'm not afraid to TELL THE TRUTH- even though there might be retaliation due to Tyger's FORCEFUL and unprofessional rebuttals.

I am just stating the facts of what happened to me. I think Tyger is a nice guy- and has a decent business. But it cost me a LOT of TIME and money and aggravation. I just think they need to be honest, truthful, and make sure that what people are being quoted and estimated is really what they will do. To be responsible to fix their mistakes- no matter what the cost. People are human and make mistakes. Just be professional about it and not lie and try to cover up.

Business is based upon Trust, and Integrity. Tyger lost mine. All he had to do was make it right. That's all.

Lucas Paint and Body's manager in Houston, Grady, agreed to pick up my 2008 BMW X5 for repair (rear bumper and drop down tailgate) and then and drop off when it is fixed; it was picked up on April 22, 2014. He sent me an email confirming that repair would be completed by the end of the week. I emailed him some pictures of newer bumper that I wanted to have installed instead of 2008 bumper. After receiving pictures; Grady called me and said that he will with newer bumper as it was in the picture of a newer BMW X5. The car wasn't fixed for 2 weeks and, when I called, he said he was not able to replace with the newer bumper and offered me $500.00 ($250 to offset my insurance deductible and another $500 since he couldn't fulfill his promise to install newer and painted bumper). I got a little upset but decided to accept his offer. Grady agreed to deliver the car to me May 9, 2014 but failed to deliver. He finally delivered on May 10, 2014 and left it in my driveway; I wasn't home. I came home and when I was pulling in to my driveway; I noticed many problems from distance. I inspected the car and found the following problems:1. Rear bumper was not installed correctly; it wasn't seated properly causing bumper to look weird; I could stick my fingers through the gap between the bumper and the tail gate and some areas were rubbing the edges of tail gate.2. Lucas Paint and Body was paid to replace drop down tailgate with a new part; it didn't look like a new part when I opened up the tail gate. 3. Multiple long and deep scratches on right side of the bumper and the fender. Please see attached photos4. Deep scratches from the left fender to the upper tailgate by the wiper blade; they tried to hide those scratched with mis-matched paint causing those areas to show scratched and lousy job from distance. 5. When I started the car and tried to move a bit in my drive way; the rear end of the car started to make scratch noise. I immediately contacted Lucas Paint and Body and spoke with Grady; he said they did not cause any damages to the car and the bumper was installed correctly. Grady asked me If I could prove if these scratches were not there before and I said "yes" I have proof and then I sent him photos. Grady agreed to fix the bumper and scratched but did not concede that he repaired the tailgate instead of replacing it. I requested him to let me see the old part but he refused. The picture of tailgate is also attached here. And finally, because I complained about the poor quality work and questioned their honest in replacing the drop down tailgate, they asked me to pay the entire amount and removed the discount of $500 they offered me that I mentioned above. I did pay the entire invoice.

That's all.

Please, run from this crooked business.
