"Loving the Classics" (https://www.lovingtheclassics.com/) stole money for an order I placed. Too late, post-order, I researched them. This internet "company" has been ripping off customers for years. Not only are they not supplying the movies on disc that customers order, I looked into their "inventory" and realized that what they're claiming is "public domain" movies are not.
On April 23, I paid with credit card in the amount of $13.90 for a copy of the movie, The Godmothers, which they claim to have four copies in stock.
The order was for a sick friend who's a fan of the director and always wanted to see the film.
On four occasions, I emailed them (as urgency was important on the order) with no response.
Attempting to call them via the supplied phone number on their website, their mail-box is full.
I realize $14 bucks is nothing and frankly, I don't care about the money. I'm just surprised--based on their clearly illegal activity--that they're still allowed to rip off hundreds of unsavvy consumers (myself one of them).
If more information is needed, I'm more than happy to supply.
Back in April 2017 I ordered 5 videos from Loving The Classics. They sent me multiple copies of two titles. I called and only got the answering machine. Then I emailed them and got a response. I returned the multiple copies, keeping one copy of each title. I was still waiying for the other three titles. After a few weeks I went through the BS of the phone and email. I got back a message that he was out of the three titles and was waiting for them to come in. Since then I have left numerous phone messages and emails all with no response. It is now Nov. 5, 2017 and I am going to get my charge card company involved. They still send me emails of sales etc.
I ordered a 16 disc set of the "Movin' On" t.v. series. Ordered on June 19, 2017 online. My credit card was charged $44.49 on June 21, 2017. (Was charged to "Rare DVD Movies" of Pinkerington, Ohio although I ordered thru lovingtheclassics.com.) As of today, July 21, 2017, I have not received my order. I have tried calling the number listed (614) 321-4335 but am told by a recording that no one is available to help me and to leave a message. The message box says it is full and cannot take my message. I have sent an email to [email protected] but have received no response.
On January 27, 2017, I ordered a Captain Midnight collection 4 DVD set from a company named Loving The Classics! It is now March 7,2017 and I have not received my order yet! I tried calling and sending numerous emails to the company and still no response! All I am asking is for my product to arrive or else obtain a full refund! This is the basis of my complaint!
I ordered a video from them in early August and here it is late December, and I still don't have it. When I send them an email or leave a message, they eventually write back, but their story changes with each complaint. At first it was already packaged and ready to send, but their mail room was backed up. Then it was not ready but the lady who wrote promised to expedite the order. Nothing. Most recently, it's not even in stock, they have to order from their supplier, which is a bit of a joke, since these videos they take from public sources have no "supplier" except them. I wrote to the police department in the town they are supposed to be in, but the address turned out to be a small UPS deposit store and not even in the same town. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, but that is unlikely to do anything. If anyone has the real address of the owners, I'd like to report them to the correct local police department.
On may 5 2016, i ordered 3 movies that were listed as "in stock" from this company. The movies as of june 8, 2016 have still not shipped, and i expect now that they never will be.
July 5,2015 I placed an internet order with Loving the Classics. My credit card was billed immemiately forl the entire amount of my DVD order. As of today May 21, 2016 I have only received half of my order. I have contacted Brenda with Loving the Classics; she told me the rest of my order would be shipped out within a 2 week period. This was last March she told me this. I still have not received my order. I have sent many email messages to Brenda; she has not responded. I have now filed complaints against Loving the Classics with: The Internet Criminal Complaint Bureau, The Attorney General's Office of Ohio and the Better Business Bureau of Ohio.I was told by the BBB of Ohio that Loving the Classics has an F rating with their agency. There have been many complaints filed against Loving the Classics with the BBB of Ohio; most of which have never been settled. I am hoping that the Internet Criminal Complaint Bureau and the Attorney General's Office of Ohio will be able to force Loving the Classics to refund my $105.30 to me; which is the amount of the DVD's that were never sent to me but my credit card was billed.
I ordered two moives Janusary of 2015. Website showed them in stock. I recieved my order confirmation and shortly after the money was charged to my credit card. The movies have not shown up to this day. We located and address and filed a report with the Ohio Attorney General, Mike DeWine who now is looking into the company. The address we found for Loving the Classics is 6077 Far Hills Ave. #122, Centerville, OH 45459 and P.O. Box 601, Middletown, OH, 45042. Phone number 937-329-9780. I hope this helps someone who has been ripped off by these people. It may help to contact the Ohio Attorney General as well.
I ordered a DVD weeks ago. I wrote an E-mail to inquire about delivery times. They have not responded. I attempted to call and received a recording about a non-working phone line.
how do we know they are not stealing our money to funnel to terrorists, as this is obviously a rip-off & scam?
They need to be shut down & removed from the Internet and Facebook.
Ordered dvds and my card was charged ($100 plus) the next day. However, no tracking info (as promised when the order was completed). Of course, no delivery of the dvds. Tried contacting through website - nada. Tried contacting through Facebook site - nada. Tried calling - "number temporarily out of service"
I've submitted complaints to both the Better Business Bureau and the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Wish I'd seen the reviews and complaints before ordering.
I did look up their internet provider (https://www.dynadot.com/domain/whois.html?domain=lovingtheclassics.com) and filed a complaint.
This company takes your money VERY FAST but then they never send you your movies. They never respond to your phone calls or emails. You will end up losing your money if you chose to attempt a purchase with this company. Don't be tempted. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO TRY AND SEND YOU YOUR ORDER. You will end up waiting several weeks for nothing and then having to open a dispute with your credit card company and then having to get new cards issued - defintely not worth the hassle for extremely poor quality merchandise that never even arrives.
Also they give people free merchandise to write good reviews for them on the internet !!!! Here is the text of the email they send to you : "Hello, We are asking select customers to take some time to write a nice review for us on Reseller Ratings. If you are able to do this and send us the link to your review we will send you a $14.99 coupon for a public domain movie of your choice! (just pay shipping)" I guess this explains the occassional fair review they do get.
I wish I had trusted my gut and listened to all of the terrible reviews this company gets on the internet but I decided to give them a try. BAD MOVE. They charge your credit card very FAST but then its been a VERY LONG time since I placed my order and still NOTHING, and they don't respond to any phone calls or emails regarding your order. You end up having to dispute the charges with your credit card company.
And to add insult to injury they added me to their email list and send me JUNK EMAIL every day including one email in which they offer me (and everyone else on their email list) FREE MERCHANDISE IN EXCHANGE FOR WRITING THEM A GOOD REVIEW ON THE INTERNET. Here is the text of the email they sent me : "Hello, We are asking select customers to take some time to write a nice review for us on Reseller Ratings. If you are able to do this and send us the link to your review we will send you a $14.99 coupon for a public domain movie of your choice! "

Loving The Classics is SCAM ! I ordered a DVD from them, did not receive any confirmation E-mail from them. Tried to call them (937-329-9780) no luck, they don't answer thier phone. I called my credit card company (VISA), they are dealing with them now. They (Loving the Classics) send out E-mails to people in general claiming they have cleaned up their act and would like you as a customer and then RIP-YOU-OFF, how pathetic! They are sad cowards.
