My father had recently passed away and he lived in Lake worth florida. I live in ny so when i was down there i had a few companies come to his condo to have an estate sale. The first company wantes 50% of what the sale brought in, which i thought was a bit much cause they valued the contents at around $4k to $5k. Lori palmers people charged a flat rate of $1500 and then 25% if they got more then $6k. They wanted to price and stage the items while i was back in NY along with having the sale while i wasn't there. So before i left, i installed cameras in his house. when they came back, to stage and price the items in the condo, they went thru the items and took what they wanted. She told her husband to take a container of moisturizer and when he asked if it was old, she responded "it doesnt matter its free".

So here they are taking what they wanted, with no regard to the fact that these are items that my father had his whole life (most of the furniture was over 40 yrs old), and if i had the ablity to bring them back to NY or a place to put them i would have and not sold them at all.

During the time they were doing pricing, they also spoke of their son and how he steals from other estate sales, one going on in Delray Beach that same week, so to me, this is how they make a little something on the side and apparently do this at other sales, in the 3 states that they hold sales (NY, NJ and Fl).

When we first meet up, they stated that they have a lot of contacts that they would call to be able to sell the contents, this turned out to be a big lie. The sale was a bust and was run more like a garage sale (not very professional), which i probably could have done myself. The 2 day sale brought in $1163.00 total, none of the larger items sold (furniture, painting, etc.) which was the point of the sale in the first place.

During the sale the lady was on the phone with someone talking about the sale and then stated that "they probably arent going to get to the $1500 and that i was out of town so she wasnt sure if i was going to pay the difference", she went on to say "that the jewerly was sold prior to this sale so I cant even take that". They basically just started to give items away cheap to try to get to the $1500 dollar mark.

Thier website states that they are educated appraisers but it seemed like they just put random numbers on most items, they even just gave away a few items, which if that was the case, i would have brought it to Goodwill instead. The photos that they posted on their website had a time date stamp from April which someone questioned and she replied that she "didnt know how to change the settings on the camera", he said that it makes it look like nothing sold before and now they are desperate to get rid of stuff. Again, not professional.

I was told by the police that i cant lock them out of the condo because we have a contract and that if i change the locks before the sale is complete, they have the right to break in. I couldnt believe what i was hearing but i was going to wait till the sale was over to make sure that they couldnt get back in, I went as far as to pay the difference in the contract (they said i could give them an even $300 instead of the $337, because she felt bad. How nice of them.)

I have made the police aware of the situation but since it wasnt high dollar items, they said my only choice is to try to sue them. I have not been able to even find an address for the company.

I have audio and video of all of this going on, and it makes me sick that they just get to get away with it.
