Lori Curtis, first did a small decorating job for me that I liked. I should have stopped right there. She mislead me in to trusting her for a much bigger job and I should have fell for it. I was going to Europe for 3 weeks, so she said she'd stay at my house and watch it and do a master bed and bath renovation while I was away and I'd come back to a beautiful new master bath. Projected cost 20K actual cost over 40K for a bathroom I can't use. Tub doesn't work. Shower causes my chandeliers to rain downstairs, and sinks aren't working right.
After assuring me her brother Rusty Klock aka Terrence R Klock, built homes and he could handle this project easily. She said, I wouldn't find anyone cheaper and that she keeps telling him he doesn't charge enough. She kept telling me to trust her, she's a professional and they do this all the time. Well I sure hope they don't do to someone else what they did to me. I should have never believed her. I told her okay, just don't have anyone else at the house. She abused my trust and decided to have her friend's kids over to enjoy the pool and chase my pets through the house. All caught on camera! Her friends over for show and tell throughout my house and enjoy the pool. Even had the contractor's wife come and spend the night against my wishes because well they just needed to get the work done.
The same sister in law that she said she couldn't stand, she invited to spend the night. What a joke. I've been back for 2 months and my bathroom is useless to me. Nothing works. She went on a shopping spree with my credit card billing up so many hours for things that were not related to the bedroom/bathroom at all. I kept pleading her to quit spending so much. She said, so many things are going back. I still have a bunch of stuff in my house in different rooms with tags on that I didn't ask for, so she could keep billing me for shopping I presume.
As far as the major bathroom remodel, well the price was much higher than it should have been. Nothing works. I got billed 835.00 just in Labor to replace old fixtures in the jacuzzi tub with new ones. Now my tub doesn't work at all. I got billed 15,000 dollars for a new shower and sinks and the first time I tried to take a shower, my bathroom floor flooded, and I had water pouring from my ceiling downstairs. Oh yeah, I can't use the sinks either because they are motion sensor and the adjustments are off, so I can't even brush my teeth in the sink.
Plus, she completely just chose a totally different stone flooring pattern that what we agreed to because home depot didn't have it, so she just went with what she could get because she wanted to get it done before I got back. I don't like it and told her that several times. She said, they would redo it if I didn't like it. Then I was told the floor under it couldn't handle another tear up and replacement They never pulled permits to move the electrical, or any other work. She told me her brother built houses but it turns out he's a class C contractor so I got multiple bills to manipulate the job and keep the bills under 10k. What a disaster. I could go on and with the lack of professionalism and violation of trust here.
The job is unfinished, I can't use my bathroom and I'm left with over 20,000.00 she spent on my credit card. I tried to resolve it with Lori Curtis prior coming here but she said she could only discount me 250.00 because she has a daughter to support. Unbelievable! I hope by writing this I can save someone else from being taken advantage of by Lori Curtis and her team. I have pictures, video, and proof to support the above and am happy to share with anyone else that may have been taken advantage of by Lori Curtis, Lori Curtis Design, or her brother Rusty Klock of Klock's Handyman.
