Jay Goldstein owner of Lori-Al Dry Cleaners in Coral Springs, Florida promised me that he was the best in town and that he can take care of all my expensive clothing that were made in Italy and France. He came to my house to pick up and deliver which at first made me feel very uneasy as he looked like he was "half in the bag" at times. He complained of his back issues and how he had to take pain medication to ease his pain. He would do pick up and delivery every week and I desperately would avoid conversation as I noticed how he slurred his words while sharing details of his personal life, ranting about his Cuban ex wife that cheated on him or about his lazy workers who never showed up to work so he had to do it himself. Eventually I just left the bag outside the door and pretended I was not home just to avoid him . I wanted to give him a chance but I should have trusted my instincts.
At first I would send him simple easy garments to clean but I had to send many things back to have re- cleaned because of missed spots . I even took the extra time to write notes & place stain stickers on items that needed to be cleaned because he would claim that he did not see any stains . Finally he managed to pull the very last straw when he ruined My husband's new linen pants which was send with a small stain in the back . He had missed the stain and I had to resend again for cleaning . He took longer than usual to deliver so I called to find out where the pants were and he nervously replied by saying he was at the Dr's and forgot to deliver. I figured out why he was nervous because he ruined the entire pair of pants! There were two huge spots of bleached out areas . Furthermore the rest of my items including my silk blue dress was completely ruined and discolored in the areas where he treated. The jeweled brooch on the dress was broken off and melted. All of my items had major discoloring ,yellowing and damage but to top it all off Jay had the nerve to blame the designers and the fabric saying they use cheap dyes and that is why there is damage. Should I have complained to all the world renowned Italian and french clothing designers famous for creating beautiful clothing known for using only the best fabrics ??? Should I let them know that Jay Goldstein from Lori -Al dry cleaners in Coral Springs is the Expert in all things??? He even tried using the famous lie, "it was already damaged"!!!! I confronted him face to face and asked to be compensated for all damage and he started to yell out profanities and rolled his eyes so far in his head I thought he was going to vomit green fluid and spin his head . I suppose he needs to to save his every last penny to pay for his pain medication .
I called the national cleaning association and verified with a fabric specialist to confirm that all the damage was due to his negligence and incompetence. There are protocols and steps that need to be followed to insure proper handling of clothing which he clearly did not follow. Jay at Lori-Al Cleaners never did a pre-test on fabric, he never properly covered or removed decorative buttons or jewels on dress. He is using the wrong type of solvents for cleaning and his methods are all incorrect and he lied by not taking responsibility for his mistakes.
His self promoted accolades are just mickey mouse memberships to make him look qualified. He is not an expert in wet or dry cleaning , yet he has mastered the skill for ruining clothing. Its clear that he should retire as he is always complaining about his business . All this bad energy is reflected in his work and its causing many people unnecessary aggravation.
