Received false interest from this peron for craigslist auto ad- just wanted the credit card number to order the VIN report evidentally. Had to cancel my card, file a report, etc. afterwords. His interest dissappeared after sending him the report. He does have our email addresses however...along with the license plate.
Thanks for your honesty. But I really can't make a further decision without report, since I've had some really bad experience with buying cars. So, I'd just really appreciate it if you can get report and that you get it from lookupvin.us because I'd like to repay you for it if we make a deal, and they're cheaper than carfax, and you know how it is, every dollar you save counts. I don't want to get it myself because if it's bad then I just wasted my money, but you can still use it however it turns out. I would like to see car tomorrow if you are free (and if everything is okay with car report) In the end I would like to know how it rides? And how many keys are included?
Thanks for your report of this credit card scam which helped me understand the txt message I received Oct 2017 regarding a craigslist auto ad saying:
“Hi, I am interested in the Hyundai listed for $11500. My mechanic wants to see a vehicle history report before we set up a meeting. I will appreciate if you could get it from lookupvin.com and if the report is clean we will make a deal.” Shortly after, I called the phone listed as the source of the txt and a recording said the number was disconnected. Apparently this scammer is smart enough to be able to change the real phone number the txt came from.
As stated earlier, someone contacted me about a Jeep I had for sale and asked if I had a VIN Report for the Jeep. Her name was Alicia Gowlland and she didn't want CarFAX because it wasn't detailed enough. I spent the money for the report (which is legitimate) and never hear from her again. These people are paying folks to troll Craig's List and generate revenue!!! It SUCKS!
If you happen to run across this email name GregLister (person) trying to purchase a car from you beware he is only stringing you along to purchase a service from www.Lookupvin.com He is only wasting your time. Its fake. The company is fake

Employees target people selling cars on craigslist pretending to be buyers, trying to trick you into buying a vin report
They pretend to "have the cash" and that they are ready to buy "as soon as you give me a vin report on the car"
UNETHICAL COMPANY SHOULDN'T BE HIRING EMPLOYEES AND COACHING THEM TO LIE!
Glad I didn't fall for it - 3 of their LIAR employees contacted me. I could tell it was a scam from the 1st contact
