This company supplies transportation or gas reimbursement for medical purposes. So, they either give you a ride to your doctor OR they give you money for gas if you drive yourself. This company is a paid provider. They are paid to assist people with scheduling their "trips" to the doctor, hospital, or other medical facilities.
They are dealing with SICK people and they are making people sicker due to the stress they put on people during this process. They make the process as difficult as possible to begin with. You have to call 2 weeks in advance if you have never scheduled a trip before so they have time to "get you into the system". Only certain individuals with certain plans can do this online and you can't even download the forms you need for the visit. They take down all your information on the first call and then mail you the form you need. (I never got mine by the way because they are completely incompetent).
My roommate is very sick and has to go to the doctor 1-4 times a month. He finally got his form. Even though he has a monthly doctor's appointment, he still has to call once a month to get the trip number. He has to call 5 days in advance AND has to deal with how rude and incompetent the reservationists are. The first time, he was on the phone for 40 minutes and they sent him a ride...when he clearly said he needed gas reimbursement. The woman on the other end of the phone was rude and was entering the incorrect information because she could not spell. Every time he calls, they try to tell him the trip will be 75 miles when it's actually 144. Then when he nicely tries to correct them, it comes up that the program they use for mapping is incorrect. When they go to mapquest, they get the correct information. But you have to argue for 10 minutes to get them to make the correction.
Now, he has done everything correctly. He scheduled ahead of time, got the trip numbers, filled out the forms (we made copies), mailed them in (we took picks of the postmarked envelope) and they received the forms. I called in late November to see where the checks for September's rides were. The woman said they mailed them to the wrong address. Okay, then cancel the checks and send new ones right? No. You have to wait 10 business days to request new checks to ensure no one cashes them? Um, isn't that the point of stopping payment on them. I called again today, Dec 14th, and they said "okay we need to stop payment on the checks, make sure no one tried to cash them, and then we can send out a new check. You will get them in about 2-3 weeks". So why could they not stop payment on the checks when we figured out that they were mailed to the wrong address?
This is either serious incompetence or FRAUD. If Logisticare is issued benefits and can manage to hold onto it, that means more money for them, right? Also, remember, these are SICK people who are trying to access these benefits. Many of them are from an uneducated and disadvantaged demographic.
Logisticare is praying on the weakest and least fortunate of society. Many are elderly and on Medicare or Medicaid. Logisticare should be ashamed of their business practices and the way they cause undue stress and hardship for the clients they are being paid to provide services for.
Can anyone say "class action lawsuit"? If you are interested and in California, reply.
To keep this simple and short of the long story of many details. Logisticare in spite of a contract and a doctor's note will at any second and not give a notice that they change your company. You can have any given hired 1,000s of drivers or any company to pick up your child under 16 that you have need any met or any interview of them. This is a stressful disaster to have a disabled toddler and they can have literally 5 different companies and change them at any moment. You won't know until 10 minutes before pick up time and not know if it the right company.
There was an incident on a 30 minute ride where my child took 1: 45 hour to get there. They claim it was traffic but it was these guys that must or claim to took long route. The school stated the child was in ok and well condition upon arrival. There was several incidents even after a sign contract of the company that agreed that wanted the contract, there was change. There may have to be another undependable report on that matter. Let's speak to the sole responsibility of Logisticare in regards not to communicating ahead of time of who is picking up my child or offering options of a responsible company with consistent drivers to pick up my child. Logisticare supposedly was gossiping with this transportation company how they not wanted (the transportation company on the contract and by doctor's order) to take my child anymore and wanted them to move to another region. I really feel this may have turn into or may be a cover lie by this transportation cover. We going to speak on that transportation company at another time. Regardless of what that matter of the he said/ she said, Logisticare should have contacted me, the child's mother as soon as they got notice that company didn't do it. There was several rounds of pointing fingers of we not cancel by Logisticare and (the signed contracted transportation company)
Then if you not agree to let the stranger pick up your child with a 10 minute notice they fail to let you get mileage reimbursement. Then they take forever to pay the mileage reimbursement. It's just one sheet of paper so what take so long to log in a computer with a calculator and pay within 2 weeks.
You have such nonchalant customer service that talk to you as you need be glad to have a ride and take whatever they give you.
I really want somebody to explain this mileage of a ride that is about 30 minutes on stop lights and they only pay you for 12 miles. It is not any way that you can get there in 12 minutes except in a plane.
