Baltimore, MD Big Daddy 443-522-4914 24/7 Locksmith (Not to be confused with the Baltimore Company 24/7 Locksmith, they are not to blame here and do not know this person. I received a phone number from a google search, Baltimore Locksmith. This number that appeared in web browser, Independent )
(I have pictures for this report, can't be shown)http://locksmith-pros.net (18883773434) charged me $1163 for their work which we agreed will only cost $310. The repair workers asked me to sign the document with no indication whatsoever that the price will be more than tripled on their initial agree-upon price. And while handling my complain, their company, locksmith-pros, is not willing to correct these employee’s misbehavior, and worse they treat it with an attitude that any respectable company will not tolerate.
I reported them on BBB, but BBB could not locate http://locksmith-pros.net even they are still in business.
The following is what happened:
Due to concerns for my own safety, I wanted to replace all locks in my house (four locks in total) on July 9th 2017. In a hurry to do so, I found this company online, locksmith-pros.net (18883773434), without fully review their reputation and background.
Here is the record shows I called the company, http://locksmith-pros.net
Two workers then confirmed to come, their number is 951-396-5000
Upon their arrival and heard my requests and the need, the two workers agreed on charging me $310 for the work to replace all four locks, the price include labors, material and all that’s needed to get the job done
They misled me to sign a paper claiming it’s only for permission to start the work. No cost amount was mentioned on the paper. They then took my driver’s license and credit card out to their car to charge me for the work and promise to give me the receipt.
They did not produce any receipt on site despite my demand for it repeatedly, eventually they said the company will email me the receipt, but they told me that they don’t even have it, so I texted them my email address.
The more I interacted with them the more I got suspicious about the whole situation and the behavior of the two repair workers (I know I was being naive to hand them my drive license and credit card without seeing receipt on site), I then texted the guy with the following message: “As we talked 65*3+115=310. No tax no additional charges.” Again no response, so I called, they said yes that’s what we agreed on.
On July 13th, I found out a charge on my credit card account of $1163, since I do not recognize the charge and it didn’t mention their company name: http://locksmith-pros.net, I disputed it.
On July 14th, I thought it might be for http://locksmith-pros.net, called the credit card company, explained everything.
On July 19th, I called http://locksmith-pros.net, and their attitude has changed, 180 degree. I explained the whole situation and asked them to correct the mistake their contractors or employees made but they refused and claim they are not going to do anything with it even I let them know that I will take further action if they don’t correct it, they acted as if they don’t care. I felt strongly that I was scammed during the process, and was taken advantage of by the company and their employees. And they advertised their company as reputable one but use trickery to cheat on their customers.
http://locksmith-pros.net provided my signed receipt, which I never received, and they put the charge back on 8/8.
This is the receipt I finally got from my credit card company, not from them, and they filled out all the information including final charges. Again, a promised permission-to-work form, which I signed, become a blank check for the company
Being victimized, I called the credit card company again on 8/9/2017 to see if they can do something to no avail.
We contracted locksmith-pros.net to come and replace our front door lock as it was becoming difficult to get a key into the lock. This lock is in the handle used to open the door. The technician who was dispatched doesn't work directly for locksmith-pros.net but some local company. He showed up, replaced the doorlock/handle and didn't bother to ask if we wanted the same style we had or a new one. My wife paid for the service ($400) and noticed after the technician left that he'd installed the wrong type of lock/door handle.
She called to explain that our door handle worked differently, you could open the door with the lock engaged and now we couldn't. She attempted to get him to understand and as things got heated, he openly yelled at her and explained that since he's a locksmith, he knows best. She wanted him to come back and fix the issue. She spoke with whomever answers the phone at locksmith-pros.net and was told that it would be the same guy coming back since he'd done the work. She vehemently said no and that someone else needed to come. She asked to speak to his supervisor, but that seemed to go nowhere. Utlimately, the tech calls back sounding sufficiently contrite. He said he'd be by on this past Friday.
He didn't show up because he forgot. She spoke with him on Friday night and scheduled for tonight (Monday). He still didn't show up. She's now called locksmith-pros.net four times, spoken with three people, one of which we were told would be out to fix the problem, but he had no idea he was scheduled. These people are very bad at keeping appiontments, have bad customer service skills and clearly don't care.
We're now disputing the charge with the credit card company and still demanding that someone come and fix our problem. A quick Google search shows at least four hits for fraudulent behavior by this company. I regret that we used locksmith-pros.net. I would urge anyone with a lock related issue to not use this company.
I had spoken over the phone with one of your customer service representatives which were helpful and courteous.
Technician Carlos (young kid) arrived at given address and met with driver. Both walk towards the vehicle. Carlos using his tools (metal bar) unsuccessfully tried to unlock the driver door, while Driver was watching that Carlos does not damage the door.
Driver got busy on a phone call, so Carlos quickly walked around the car to the passenger door (front) and attempted to unlock the car, this time he was successful yet molding frame was dented and scratch, Clip weather strip is also affected causing water to access the interior this caused by the tools and technique Carlos used,
I had sent an email and also phone calls, however until now I have Not heard a word from Manager "Jose" at Lockmith-pros.
I called this company because we needed a locksmith. Their pricing was a little high but I asked them to come out anyway. My husband called and they gave a much more reasonable quote. So I called this company back and told them we didn't want to have them come out. They said okay and said they would call the technician. A few minute later, the technician shows up at our place of business and my husband tells him that we had called the company and cancelled. He started yelling at my husband telling him we should have called him directly. My husband told him that we had called the company for the service and called the company back to cancel the service.
He then became really angry and told my husband that he already had the key made, So my husband told him that if he had the key made and it worked than we would pay for it. So they went out to the car and the technician put the key in the car door and said see. My husband told him that he wanted to see it start the car before he paid and the technician told him that he hadn't fully keyed it yet, so my husband told him that we didn't need his service. The technician told my husband that he still had to pay the $120 and my husband said that we wasn't going to pay the fee because he didn't get any service. Then the guy freaked out and started screamng at him that he had to pay the fee and if he didn't he would get it out of him one way or the other. My husband told him to get off our property, but he still didn't leave. He was on the phone with someone pacing back and forth in our parking log.
In the meantime, somebody from the company tried to call me back on my phone about 10-15 times, but because of my husband being threatened, I didn't answer the phone. My husband then called me to tell me that the technician wasn't leaving and would I call the company and have them call them to get him off the property. When I called the company, I talked to someone named Lily who said that she was manager. She said that she would call him and tell him to leave so we hung up but then she called me back a few minutes later to tell me that the reason she had called me 17 times before was to tell me that we had to pay the service fee. I told her that I was not going to pay a service fee to a company whose employees threatened us and that I was calling the police She said that she was calling the police to have us arrested. I hung up on her and then called the police.
Contacted 410.793.4034 Locksmith Pros to request service for lockout of home. Was told tech would call me back shortly. He called quickly. Scheduled to wait outside and he would meet nme in 1 hour at 430pm. Called the service back and asked what it would cost for the service. She said a simple lock is $35. She said they do not charge labor. They charge by the service. The tech would tell you ahead of time If its a complicated lock with lots of pins, etc. and the technician would tell me what it would cost ahead of time but they will tell me the flat amount. Not service plus labor. She said they take credit cards. I told her i may run out and get the $'s since I had an hour to wait. I was making sure whether i was supposed to pay cash or credit card to ensure it was an honest transaction. Rep seemed very nice in giving me that information. I did also tell her that the tech made me nervous on the phone as he didn't want to give me his name. he just kept saying "locksmith" when I asked his name. I finally got him to me it was Luke. She said she would report that to her manager.
Tech arrived very promptly. He placed an inflatable bag in the door seam and opened the door in less than 2 minutes.
I told him to let me go back out to the car I had been waiting in to get his $35. He said the charge is $85. I asked him why? He said they charge $35 to come out and the labor was $50. Also that they are paid on commission. He said he could not control what they charge. I told him I was told differently on the phone, but was happy he opened the door. He said he was going to take his tools to the truck while I got his pay together. He wanted me to pay cash. Wonder why? I told him no, I was using a credit card and I told him exactly why. He said he wasn't sure credit cards work for him now because they are chip. I told him that his company assured me that he could take a credit card.
While he was outside I called the office and asked them why the rate is different? I understand that $35 was the minimum service that he could do but what could possibly be less than an inflatable bag in 2 mins? She said $85 is a good rate, I should be glad. What?! What happened to a flat amount for the service. He never said it was more ahead of time and I only brought $40 to pay what they told me to expect. It was not anything more than the basic 2 minute service. She started telling me about different locks with different pins cost more, etc. But I don't have that! She still kept telling me about services I don't even have. I told her she wasn't listening to me and I wasn't sure if she ripped me off or the field tech was pulling a fast one. She wouldn't answer the question so I told her I was hanging up.
I went out side to pay the tech. He did not know I called their office. What a shock when he handed me a bill that now says its $100. He had added a service call fee to it now. I told him that I was on the phone with the company and asked them to explain the price difference. I told him I don't know who is ripping me off... him or company that hires him as a sub, but I will be filing a complaint to BBB. He said he knows he hears alot of complaints about the office giving the wrong information and he would knock off the service call.... hummmm.. thought you couldnt control the costs?. I paid him by credit card. I felt that they would definately not be honest giving someone cash. I requested receipt and got one from the company below instead. So the company you actually call remains annonymous.
I called Locksmith Pros last the first few compaines I called said they could only open the safe my drilling through the key pad which I didnt want so I was informed to call other places so finally when I got to Locksmith pros I made it very clear that I didnt want to damage the safe so when the tech called me I sent him a picture and he said he could get it open with out making it useless and he asked how much I would pay I said well I'll pay up to $100. because the safe was only worth $50.
So he gets to my house and hour later then planned and says its gonna cost $150. I said no way I told you it wasnt worth that much and I wont pay it so finally after going back and forth we agreed on $100. fine and I made it very clear I didnt want it damaged the key broke off in it and there was no batteries in the key pad so I said i dont care if the lock is damaged I just want to know I would still be able to use the key pad he said yes it will work no problem . After he leaves I put batteries in it and great the key pad works but it don't lock so there for its no good to me anymore . I called him back a few times ofcourse no answer the company i called atleast 10 times they dont call back and after talking to a superviser she claims the tech says he couldnt do it without damage thats not called damage its called destroying it and making it useless after I told him only try if I can still use it he said yes it will work .
I found locksmith-pros on the internet. Website states that there is a $15 fee for a service call and a house lockout charge starting at $35. When I called to set up an appointment, I asked about the fee and the dispatcher informed me that the technician would have to make an assessment.
The technician arrived 30 mins late. When I greeted him, he stated that he would first try to pick the lock and if that didn't work he would have to drill it out. But before he did any work he prepared an invoice that was for $140, $15 service call fee and $120 unlock fee.
I questioned why the cost was so much higher than the advertised price, he responded that it was the price the company makes him charge.
He was able to pick the lock in about 10-20 secs.
I selected locksmith-pros because I had called other locksmith, most quoted that they would charge $75 if they had to drill, so I went for the lower price advertised by locksmith-pros.
When I called the company back, I requested to talk to a supervisor, the dispatcher informed me that she was in charge and had the authority to settle any dispute and that I would not receive a refund. I also questioned what would constitute a $35 charge, if it wasn't being able to unlock by picking the lock, which requires very little time or equipment. The response was that the technician bases the fee on the labor and work required. Which contradictes what the technician had told me. Later in the conversation, she informed me that the supervisors were in a meeting, it was approximately 6:45 pm, and that it would be at least an hour before the meeting was over. I requested that someone call me, of course no one has called me back.
The terms and conditions from their website states:

Notice they only specify the services provided by the technician in their guarantee, not that they will honor their advertised prices.
While the technician was able to unlock the door, which I would happily pay for, this company is, in my opinion, deceptive and dishonest. This company should be avoided because it is a ripoff!!!!!
Locked my keys in my car called the first locksmith that popped up in my search bad idea they said $15.00 service fee and would match any other service locksmith's price. When the technician arrived as we were walking over to my car he asked how i would pay. I told him debit card he said it would cost $260 to unlock my car because I was using a credit card not cash and it was sprinkling. I thought he was joking. Said yeah right he said I'm not kidding. I said no way will I pay that. I asked what about matching prices. I showed him a receipt when I had it done cost me $48 he said no that's to low. What about well beat anyones price no we dont do that. I said forget it. As I was walking away he asked how much you willing to pay. I said $48 he said no pay me the service fee of $15 I said no way he then started to get very upset and yelling saying he was going to call the police I told him I would call them for him. I was on the phone with the police department and telling them what happened as he was outside my work blowing my phone up. THe police department said that he was now harrassing me. I went outside and he said that he opened my car and had the keys and if I wanted them back I had to pay $90.
I got very upset and told him I said not to touch my car. I was going to give him $5 just to get rid of him because he was scaring me, he saw the cash I told him I would give him $5 he said no I want more. Then he asked if I had any cash in my car. I walked over to my car telling him that I wanted him to put the keys back into my car and lock it up when I noticed he had a wire going through my window and actually had not taken my keys out. He was lying figuring i would just pay him to get my keys back. I refused to pay him and told him to leave. He started yelling at me demanding that I give him my credit card I refused and told him I was going to call the police if he did not leave. He chased me back to the door of my work I ran in and slammed to door thank god it locks and he could not get in. He also tried to force me to sign some paper and I said absolutly not. This place is a total rip-off and very violent when you wont take their intimidation. Don't call them don't use them your life may depend on it. I was actually very scared for mine.
I called the number on their website. When I called the girl that answered right away asked what kind of lock I was calling about and I told her. I asked her if it was 15.00 like stated on the website and she said yes and then right away told me she was putting me on hold to locate a locksmith to find out how much. At the same time I received a call from another number 848 565 5248 from a man who said to text him a picture of the lock and someone would be there in 15 minutes. I was like oh well can you give me a price and he said someone would tell me when they came. 35 minutes later I text back asking how much more time and he said 10 more minutes. 10'minutes later I called and explained to the girl how they said 15 minutes and I was leaving g and wanted to cancel. She put me on hold and once again I received a call from 848 565 5248 who said the locksmith would be there any minute. 5 minutes later a young kid comes, looks at the lock with a flashlight and says 170.00 to break the lock and 110.00 to replace. I told them no way I don't want it and proceeded to cancel giving up the 15.00 service fee as stated on their website. He said that now it was 70.00. I was like for what? He stated for cancellation. I told him no way and called the 877 number back. I explained what happened to the young girl that answered. She put me on hold as she talked to her supervisor. She then came on to ARGUE with me stating that her supervisor said that is the price because the technician said it is a doable job and it is 25.00 to cancel. I told her that is not stated on their website nor on the phone. Y anyone that called etc. She then did well where are you going to find someone on a weekend for that price - I told her I was in no rush and had originally called for pricing and not this whole rushing and ignoring. She insisted that was he price and final. I told her I was reporting them and paying it but would fight them for false advertising and not doing as they stated which was a 15.00 service fee. Beware of their prices - their tech even told us they were scammers and he had to deal with irate customers like us who are being taken advantage of. He felt bad - good kid but horrible company.
The locksmith on arrival told us there would be a $189 charge if he had to drill the lock, which HE DID NOT DO. He told us new locks were $65 each, we got two. HE CONTINUED with the installation.
After the installation was complete. HE gave us a total bill for $420!!! With our discussions with him, we were under the impression that the cost was to be $145.
Since he was in our house, we felt threatened and that we had to pay, as he would not leave. As soon as he left, I called the locksmith customer service and they told me since he already left there was nothing we can do.
The way this individual handling forcing us to pay an additional amount it unacceptable. BAIT AND SWITCH AND INTIMIDATION.
They told me it was 120 for new key they then told me it was 430 i paid that then tried to use key in it was not programed i then called for them to tell me im not getting my money back in they hung up on me then called the tech in he also hung up on me
Got locked out of car and they said $15 service call $35 for labor and then charges $140 if we paid cash. When I called to complain they told me $35 charge would be for "basically a car that is allready unlocked with the windows down" WTF. SCAM SCAM
I had locked myself out of my home while trying to head to work. I was in a real hurry so I called the first ad that showed on google which advertised about a 15 minute show time. I called the number and spoke to a dispatcher who said a technician would contact me. He called and verified the address. He abruptly hung up on me when I asked how long it would take him to get to my home. On their online site, it showed it would cost from $35 to get into my home. I showed him the lock, which was a single knob. He claimed that he wouldn't be able to match the knob as he didn't have one in his truck that was that color. I said it's ok, just please get it open. He also claimed that it would be a "difficult" lock to get open, which was weird because he simply drilled into it and ruined it. Afterwards he demanded I pay him $243 in cash. I told him I didn't have that amount of cash on me and he got agitated. I told him it said on the site they take credit. It was at this point I started to get nervous because my boyfriend wasn't home and this young man was clearly agitated and I started to notice that he didn't have front plates on his car, and I was beginning to question the legitimacy of this company and this random man that had drilled into my home and was now demanding money. I was shaking when I handed him my credit card, which he took a picture of, and when he gave me a non descript reciept I realized I had been scammed. I felt like such a fool. Of course, afterwards, I looked online and found tons of stuff about these locksmiths who rip people off, bully and intimidate them and then disappear. Don't let it happen to you!!
We just bought a house and needed our locks re-keyed. I searched for "Locksmith in Murray" on Google and locksmith-pros was one of the first ones to come up. I called them and they said it would be about $19 per lock however they never gave me an exact price. We set up a time for them to come out when my wife would be home because I was working. I told my wife it would be about $80 because we have two doors with a lock on the doorknob and a dead bolt on each. When they showed up they had my wife sign something and they said it would be $80 each.
My wife, thinking I had agreed signed the paper and they immediately started working on the lock. She called me quickly after to verify if that was correct. I told her it should be about $80 total not per lock plus a $35 service charge. I called the office of the locksmith and got transferred around 4 times. Finally I spoke to a supervisor who said they would call the locksmith. They didn't tell me they would help they just said they would call the locksmith. Then the locksmith called me and said he could give me 10 percent off. Well 10 percent off of $355 is only $35.
That is still very different from $80. I told the locksmith that is still too much and I was told $19 per lock. He started laughing at me and said no one does locks for that cheap. I told him that was the price they advertise online and the price I was told when I called. He said it was $350 but he could give me 10 percent off. The locks where already done (it took them literally a couple minutes to complete) so he said I had to pay. I got him to drop it down to $250 and I told my wife to pay him and just be done with them.
On 12/2/16 my friend got locked out of my house. I was at work and could not get home. It was cold outside & she was wearing no shoes & no coat. I did a search online for a mobile locksmith in Van Nuys and found this loser company.
The guy said he could be there in 15 minutes and I said fine but call me with pricing. I never heard from him til about an hour later when my friend told me the guy told her I needed a new lock and she let him do it but he NEVER told her how much it was going to cost. When all was said and done he charged $711.00 for a lock that looks like it cost $5.00 and I could of bought at Home Depot. I contacted this company several times and they are very rude and hang up on you all the time. I asked for their mailing address and they said oh we are located in Dallas, TX and I said then why do you have an 818 area code number and again they hung up on me. When I first called to compalin about hte price I was basically told too bad that's how much it cost. I did file a complaint with the BBB but they had no success contacting htis place. I hope someone can help, I would like to get at least half or more of my money back and stop them from ripping off the next person.
Beware of Locksmith Company/ Locksmith Pros; "We are a Locksmith Company in your area" the ad starts out ... but there is no address for a city or state ... clearly, a company that refers tickets out to sub contrators. The prices they have listed say START AT; for Automotive, Residential and Commercial are false advertisement... similar to lost leaders sales pitch...
I asked them for a price quote and the agent gave me the same prices listed on the web site.. but no actual price.
Starting at $35 ... plus labor, and a per hr rate. The locksmith got to address was there 5 minutes ... ($15.. $35.. maybe $50) it was $150 ....Are you pahying with a credit card or cash?? Cash. I can do you a favor and give you a discount... That is a switch and bait sales .... rediculous.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!

If no satisfactory conclusion is reached you may contact Locksmith Pros in order to further discuss a satisfactory resolution to your claim. We reserve the right to determine the final decision regarding your entitlement to a full refund of the services.
I lost the key to my bike lock.
I told the guy exactly what I needed- pick lock, cut lock, or cut chain, whatever was cheapest.
He said "no problem" $15 for service call, $35 for service, Total $50.
When he got here he says he has to drill the lock and the price would be $90. I refused and paided him $15
We had a locksmith service come to our house. The Ad online said it was a $15 call, plus labor.
They told me it was 120 for new key they then told me it was 430 i paid that then tried to use key in it was not programed i then called for them to tell me im not getting my money back in they hung up on me then called the tech in he also hung up on me
SCAM Locksmithpros.net
That is a switch and bait sales .... rediculous.
