Living World Technologies responded to my ad for a website developer in craigslist for our company. Was contacted by a Chris and a Craig. I paid $600 for a deposit to begin work. Business seems knowleadgable and legit. Took a few weeks, but was told my website was finished and was provided a link. Upon following the link, I saw a Melos page template with our name typed in it and a squashed company logo copy and pasted from our original website. No other content was there, and the entire page was a big advertisement for Melos and how you could buy a Melos template. I clicked on one of the links. My firewall and virus protection software immediately alerted me of a hack. I had to unplug my computer and do a wipe and restore. I contacted Living World Tech about the issue. I was greeted with accusations and defensiveness and that the website was finished and that I needed to pay more money. I asked for my money back as I was not happy with non delivery of an actual website. I was told they were returning nothing.
I immediately contacted my card issuer for chargeback before it was too late. Living World sent me additional invoices for work never done, and didn't even get my company name correct or the correct website address. It was a totally different name and web address.
They have continued to make threats and accusations and are a complete scam, or are really poor businessman. I've contacted the state of texas and the county of Travis where they are supposedly located, and they do not have a business license, and their website is registered through a 3rd party. I should have done more research on this company before sending money.
My mistake, and this is posted so if anyone else is contacted by this 'company', do not send them money or deal with them.
